I had this one my mind lately for some reason, probably because I've been playing Phantasy Star II and IV. Is Final Fantasy VII really the best RPG of all-time? I don't think so. What about Final Fantasy IV, Phantasy Star IV, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VIII and countless others? Why is Final Fantasy VII held in such high regard? Is it because Aeris dies in it? I believe Nei from Phantasy Star II dies and she's a main character! What about Earthbound and Super Mario RPG? Those were two excellent SNES RPGs, but for some reason, the FF on SNES overshadow them. I know what my favorite RPGs all and my top 5 don't include any FF game in them. Here's my top 10 RPGs:
1. Persona 4
2. Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne
3. Persona 3
4. Dragon Quest VIII
5. Breath of Fire III
6. Final Fantasy IV
7. Final Fantasy VIII
8. Earthbound
9. Super Mario RPG
10. Shadow Hearts 2
Honorable Mentions to Radiata Stories, Phantasy Star IV, and Xenogears. Am I bias? Yeah, but Persona 4 the first RPG that I was really enticed by. Persona 3 almost had me, but 4 consumed me. I played P4 for 6 hours the day I got it. I even stayed home the next day just to play it. No game has ever made me want to stay home from school, but P4. Dragon Quest VIII was the first DQ I ever played and I only played it because my friend recommended it. I was pleasantly surprised when I first played the game. It was a turn based RPG and nothing else. It didn't try to change up their battle system (FF 12) or do anything crazy. They kept it original to its roots and it was amazing. Breath of Fire III is one of the first RPGs I remember playing. This was my first BOF and I just loved the characters, the difficulty of the game was just right, and it was lengthy. Shadow Hearts 2 just barely made it. I was going to but PSIV, but SH2 did have a different battle system, but it was still turn based. I hope they decide to do a Shadow Hearts IV or a Wild Arms 6, but we'll have to see. I know that my friend Max is going to disagree, but I welcome his argument. Next time, I'll debate the best game of all time. For me, it Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time For others, it may be Super Mario Bros, which is a very good argument.

Dark Sector was cool
Last week, I played Dark Sector for the first time and I was impressed. I really liked the Glaive and all of its abilities, like the shield, the aftertouch throw and the stealth suit. The gun action is pretty cool as well. It has that RE4 and Gears kind of feel when you first play it. You can obviously tell that the Glaive was the main weapon you're suppose to be using though. Unfortunately, it's way too short. I beat it in 3 days. The multiplayer is unique but it's not great.
Hopefully, I'll get some money and get Star Ocean IV some time this week. Probably not though since I'm flat broke.

WWE is going crazy man
No Way Out 2009 was a shocking night. First, the match order was crazy. The Smackdown EC was first, then Orton VS Shane. The two biggest matches of the night went first. Then, Edge gets eliminated first from his WWE Title EC, making his 7th reign as a World Champion only 21 days, again. I don't know about you guys, but I would rather have different people as champions than to have these short WWE Title reigns. He's never had a lengthy reign as champion, and it bothers me that he keeps getting the belt and then losing it. The last crazy thing that happens is that Edge comes into the World Heavyweight Championship EC, steals Kofi Kingston's spot, and wins the match. Now, he has Raw's World Title and he's an 8 Time Champion. Are you kidding me? 8 times already? Edge is my 2nd favorite wrestler and I love seeing him as champion, but I hope WWE just gives him a half of year reign or longer. Now that SD has two champs, one of them has to leave. My money is only Triple H, since Orton is the heel. Triple H VS Orton would be great, but I would love to see a Fatal Four Way for both the World Title. Cena VS Edge VS Orton VS HHH would be a show stealer for sure. I guess we'll have to wait until tonight to get some answers.

Next couple of months for games
The next couple of months is filled with a lot of anticipated releases, like MadWorld, Resident Evil 5, Star Ocean: The Last Hope, Godfather II, and many more. I just wanted to touch a little of each game.]
Star Ocean 4 may be the last hope for a great JRPG, beside FFXIII, but when will that game come out? The last Square-Enix/Tri-Ace games was Infinite Undiscovery, and that was a horrible 360 RPG. It wasn't even a RPG, it was a hack and slash game. SO4 looks good from the videos and screenshots I've seen, but I need to play it to get my final opinion on it.
MadWorld looks like it could be this year's No More Heroes. It's over the top in action and the overall style of the game looks amazing. I have no doubt that this game will be awesome and it's one of the many games that I feel I need to play.
Resident Evil 5. There's not much to say. It feels just like 4 in gameplay, but now it has online co-op. Does online co-op really change a game though? Sure, it's going to be fun, but doesn't it feel just like a carbon copy of 4? I'm going to play it regardless, but I don't feel it's really original.
The Godfather II looks much better than the first one, just like the movie. I really liked the first one so I have high hopes looking at this game. It may be my GTA for this year.
Has anybody been keeping up with the amount of RPGs coming out for the DS? Avalon Code, Suikoden Tierkreis, Valkyrie Profile, and many others. It's looking good for the DS

Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection is awesome
Before I start, I love how Sonic can whore his name onto any Sega game. Yes, he has the most games on this collection,(7 of the 40+) but it's not his collection. Damn hedgehog thinks he's the man because he can run fast.
Anyway, this is the best collection of Sega games to date. I had Sonic Mega Collection, the first one and the plus edition, and I had Sega Genesis Collection, all three I enjoyed, but they didn't have all the games I wanted. For example, where the hell was Shining Force and Streets of Rage? They were my favorite games on the Genesis. But this collection is the trump card or however the saying goes. They have all the games I wanted and more. There are a couple of games that could have been on the collection. like Virtua Fighter 2, Earthworm Jim, Revenge of Shinobi, Shadow Dancer, and Gunstar Heroes. Even though it looks like this collection has every imaginable Sega game on it, I would love to see Sega Genesis games that weren't published by Sega, like Castlevania: Bloodlines, Rocket Knight Adventures, and others. Maybe Sega could get these games as downloadable content who knows? Sega should just release a Sega's Ultimate Games Collection, that would span from Genesis, Game Gear, Master System, CD, and Saturn. This would help me, since I really want to play Panzer Dragoon and The Legend of Oasis but can't cause I have no money. Overall, this collection is great. With over 40 games, you're going to get your money's worth. Especially if you love RPGs. Phantasy I-IV (even though I you need two players to unlock) will take your at least 200+. Shining Force 1 and 2 will take 60+, so you already have a game that's longer than most games on the market today. This collection is good for people who have and haven't played these games because it has a little something something for everyone.

I love Atlus
Man, Atlus is the company to beat this year! In the last two months, they've announced Tokyo Beat Down, Steal Princess, SMT Devil Summoner 2, (it's not really two but w/e) Super Robot Taisen OG Saga, and SMT Devil Survivor, all games I want to play. Out of all of them, SRTOGS is the one I want to play the most. It looks pretty fresh and original. I've never heard of the series, but I guess I can hope on the bandwagon now huh?
I haven't talked about wrestling in a while, have I? Well, how about Rated RKO?!? Edge wins his 7th World Championship and Randy Orton wins the Rumble! Are you kidding me? I marked out so hard when Orton won man. I just hope that he beats Cena at WM. Speaking of Cena, is it pretty guaranteed that he'll win his EC match? I mean, Kofi Kingston and Mike Knox? WTF? I can't see Mysterio winning, and Kane and Jericho are both heel so I can only see Cena walking out as champ. The SD EC is by far one of the most best booked matches in history. They have all the power player in the match and it better close the show. The match could go either way. Edge or Triple H could win, and then fight each other at WM, then they get Kozlov VS Undertaker out of the chamber, since he hasn't been beaten one-on-one and Undertaker's undefeated at Mania. Jeff Hardy is obviously going to face Matt at Mania, so I don't know why they didn't just put Matt in. Big Show isn't going to have some big match at Mania this year, so it's pointless to have him in there. Getting to a different subject, I'm really looking forward to Orton VS Shane. Shane is crazy and I'm expecting a big spot in the match-up.
So my Wrestlemania 25 card goes as follows:
Randy Orton VS John Cena - World Title Match - I figure Austin will have some type of part in this match, but I'm predicting that Austin will probably screw Cena, since the fans wouldn't expect that. Austin's gotta have a role, since he's being inducted into the HOF that night before.
Edge VS Triple H - WWE Title Match - This is the only match I see out of the chamber, unless Triple H wins and faces Taker, then Christian comes back and teams with Jeff to face Edge and Matt Hardy, but that's only a dream.
Undertaker VS Vladmir Kozlov - Undefeated at WM VS Undefeated in the WWE. Makes sense.
Jeff VS Matt - No Hold Barred - For obvious reason.
MITB Ladder Match - Ever since WM 21, a MITB is a necessary requirement for the event.
Well, that's my card right now. Jericho might play a part and fight Flair but we'll have to see.

I really want to play Top Spin 3
For so odd reason, I've gotten into some tennis games on the 360. I downloaded the demos for Virtua Tennis 3 and Top Spin 3. While VT3 was arcadey and fun, I really liked TP3's realism and precision. I already have it on the top of my list at GF so I'm just waiting for them to get Gears of War back. Speaking of Gears, that was a fun ass game. My friend and I ran through co-op mode and I had a blast. It was my first time playing Gears, and I just started playing 2 the other day.
Next week, Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection comes out and I can't wait to play it. Beyond Oasis, all the SORs, and Shining Force 1 and 2! What a package! I hope that the SORs are online, but I doubt it.
