Best of 2014 - Pro Wrestling

2014 was one of the better years for WWE. Sure, Vince lost $350 MILLION dollars due to the WWE Network, but overall, not a bad year. There were only a couple boring PPVs that I can think of and it looks like the pieces are in place for the future of the company. Let's talk all things WWE in 2014.

Biggest Disappointments

5. Tag Division drops - When The Usos held the belts and were going against Harper and Rowan, the division was on fire. Those two teams had such amazing chemistry and the sky was really the limit. After The Usos dropped the belts, it just got kind of boring. Maybe because the Usos/Dust Brothers feud wasn't nearly as fun as the previous tag title feud but it just went down fast. It's not the worst thing of the year but it was annoying to see, especially after those AMAZING title defenses from The Usos. I was kind of hoping they would continue that momentum but hey, it's not their fault. It looks like the division is trying to do something again, with WWE putting the belts on the most over guy in company, Mizdow. They also have new teams such as A New Day and the hopefully more than one night team of Cesaro and Tyson Kidd. We'll see if 2015 is the year WWE can finally nail the tag division. I think I say that every year now.

4. Punk walks out - Punk leaving the company wasn't as bad as many would think. Sure, WWE lost one of their top guys but his departure paved the way for Daniel Bryan to get his Wrestlemania moment. I'm not going to dwell on this topic too much because I already did a whole post about it but with all the indy and international stars coming in, it sucks to see Punk gone. All of the guys coming up would have had fantastic matches with Punk. You can never rule out a return in WWE but for now, it doesn't look like we'll ever see him again. Punk's happy with his life right now so let him continue to be happy. WWE will go on without him and the stars will step up in his absence.

3. Cena forces Bray to start over - Bray Wyatt was one of the most successful stars of 2014. He feuded with just about every big star possible this year. Bryan, Cena, Jericho and Ambrose just to name a few. His feud with Cena put Wyatt over as a major game player for years to come. That was, until he and his family had to deal with Cena again, this time, after Cena was absolutely destroyed by Lesnar. WWE had to have Cena look as strong as possible heading into title rematch with Lesnar. So what do they do? They feed Cena the Wyatts! While the match was a 6 Man tag, things broke down and Cena went into super hyper mega drive mode and started giving each member of the Wyatt Family German Suplexes and Attitude Adjustments. It was disgusting. It was in that instant that I knew what was happening; Cena was squashing the Wyatts. And he did because WWE starting airing videos of the repackaging of the Wyatt Family on their own. Looking back on it, it's not the worse thing, as Wyatt came back into a much anticipated rivalry with Dean Ambrose, Rowan is getting a push and Harper won the IC Title. At the moment though, it sucked because I knew the three guys were better than that. It seemed to have helped each one of them though, especially Harper.

2. Lesnar wins title, holds it hostage - Brock Lesnar winning the WWE Championship was inevitable. He's the one behind 21-1. He had to get the championship to back up his shocking victory over The Undertaker. I was all fine and well with him winning. What I'm not fine with is the fact that he's only defended the title once and that WWE is going on like the title doesn't exist anymore. Sure, so far, they've been having great main events without it, like Ambrose/Rollins and the traditional SS match, but the main championship is STILL gone. I know that in the long run, it's best for business as they say, but the hurt is apparent now. Seriously. Roman Reigns will definitely look like a huge hero once he does dethrone Lesnar at Mania 31 but for now, it's a hard pill to swallow.

1. Injury Bug - Man, the injury bug hit where it hurt this year didn't it? There were plenty of injuries in the year, like BNB hurting his arm again thanks to Swagger RIGHT when he was in the middle of a resurgence. That really drained me, I can't lie. I'm a huge fan of Barrett's and it seems like the guy can't catch a freaking break. Roman Reigns' surprise injury surely shook the WWE to their core, seeing how this is the guy they're going to pass the ball too. Easily the biggest and most disappointing injury this year was that of Daniel Bryan. He was the hottest superstar in years. His title win at Wrestlemania XXX was epic and showed that WWE might just be changing their mind to guys who look like Bryan and then, he got hurt and we haven't seen him wrestle since. It sucks SO MUCH because you have guys like the NXT 5, Rollins, Ambrose, Wyatt, etc that are all coming up that could've used Bryan as inspiration to move up. It's more likely with a guy like Bryan being champion to succeed than with Super Cena carrying around the championship. So yeah, injuries suck and dropped the year a bit for WWE. Guys like Bryan, Reigns and Barrett all missed this Authority storyline, which Bryan and Reigns were actively fighting. It's a bummer but that's what happens in the business.

Best Things WWE Did in 2014

5. Cena squashed - I like John Cena. I like that he's always there for WWE, wrestles while injured and will occasionally lose to a younger star. I'm not a diehard fan of his but I'm not the rabid hater I used to be of him. I've come to accept that he is John Cena, the face of the franchise and I'm actually one of the few that can't wait until he gets past Flair's record of 16 World Titles. Wait until I tell my kids. Anyway, that's why his complete squash at SummerSlam was so refreshing. For years, Cena has been beat up by heels. Guys like Umaga, Miz, The Great Khali, the list goes on and on. Cena would take the punishment only to come back to win in the end with his signature 5 Moves of Doom. Not this time. Lesnar hit a F5 within SECONDS of the match starting. It was crazy. He then proceeded to throw Cena around the ring. And he did it again. AND AGAIN. As Heyman puts it, SUPLEX REPEAT. SUPLEX REPEAT. SUPLEX REPEAT. It was a massacre and I loved every bit of it. Was it a good wrestling match? No, but it was a very different main event than we were used to seeing and you know what? I liked it. It capped off a beautiful SummerSlam, which may be the best PPV WWE has had all year, besides big brother Wrestlemania. While I don't want to see a squash type of match when Reigns faces The Beast at Mania, it was nice seeing this type of main event once.

4. Mizdow - When Damien Sandow won the Money in the Bank in 2013, I thought it was a huge mistake. I would have been fine with anyone else winning that match, except Swagger of course. There were just too many other guys in that match that deserved it more, like Cody Rhodes and Wade Barrett. Regardless of the decision, I was looking forward to him being World Champion because I'm all about the youth of the company. Sandow, unfortunately, tried cashing in on a just returning from injury John Cena, who won the World Title the night before. It didn't look good for Sandow. He lost the match and his career had been on a downward spiral since. He started doing various impersonations of superstars and then he struck gold. The Miz was coming back to WWE and his new gimmick was a Hollywood one since he filmed Marine 4 in his absence. Miz being so vain needed a stunt double and in comes Damien Sandow, who changed to Mizdow. The guy is one of the greatest things about Raw each week, simply because the gimmick works. Anytime Miz is hit, Mizdow acts it out, even if it means flipping off the steel steps to do it. It's amazing to watch. The gimmick even landed Mizdow his first title in WWE, the Tag Team Championship with The Miz. Eventually, Mizdow will get tired of it all and probably end up facing Miz at Mania but until then, let's just enjoy the magic that is Mizdow.

3. Pulled trigger on Bryan - If you watch the Royal Rumble again, you'll see the fans clear disapproval of Daniel Bryan not being included in the Rumble and their obvious disdain of the winner Batista. They made it known that the most popular superstar should be in the main event of WrestleMania. WWE played the job of devil's advocate very well and kept Bryan down every chance they got. Fans wanted him in the Rumble, they have him lose to Wyatt. Fans pull for him to win the Chamber, they hold him down again. He wants in the main event of Mania? He has to defeat The Game to get the spot. It was all leading up to one of the biggest and most satisfying payoffs in WWE history. Bryan went on to defeat 75% of Evolution in one night to become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. A true and utter miracle. If Bryan kept to that great pace, who knows how the rest of the year would have went? I know he would've ran straight into The Beast Lesnar, but about him and Cena and the whole Authority storyline? It's an interesting what if. Anyway, WM 30 kept with tradition. Any Wrestlemania that ends in 0, excluding 2000, had the guy who worked the hardest in the company win the big one in the main event. Bret Hart at 10, Chris Benoit at 20 and now it's Bryan at 30. He definitely deserved it.

2. WWE Network/NXT - I know the network had its share of problems. I watched WM XXX on the thing so I know first hand. It's still an amazing value for WWE fans. $10 a month and you get all the on demand content you want and all the events. I don't even care if the events are bad anymore because of the value that I'm getting them for. There have been some stand out events with the network though. Wrestlemania was good, SummerSlam was a fantastic show and Hell in a Cell was the sleeper event of the year. Easily the best thing about the network is the inclusion of NXT. NXT is the best thing WWE has going. The live specials have all been spectacular. They only had 4 but each one was special. The first one showcased that NXT was here and a serious brand of WWE. Takeover showed the true wrestling ability of stars. F4W showed they could handle multi man matches and R Evolution showed that NXT IS the future of WWE. The NXT 5 were all on display and will lead the WWE into a new day. NXT continues to prove that while the main program may be filled with a lot of sport entertainment, WWE still knows how to put on wrestling matches. NXT will be the best thing going in WWE in 2015, mark my words. If you watched NXT R Evolution, you know I'm telling the truth. It was easiest the best show WWE has put on ALL year. From the beginning to the end, the show was fantastic. From Owens' amazing debut, to Balor's FANTASTIC entrance, to Charlotte and Sasha stealing the show to Zayn finally reaching the mountain top only to be attacked by Owens, it was all awesome. It was a show MADE for wrestling fans. This show only enforces my claim of NXT being the biggest thing in 2015. NXT needs a presence on WWE PPVs to simply make them better and to expose the rest of the WWE Universe to how awesome this brand is. The 200-300 people in the crowd sure loved it and I'm sure if others got to see it, they would too. I feel bad for the main roster guys who had to follow R Evolution. It's almost not fair. With all the original content, hours of on demand shows, ALL of WWE's PPVs and their ace in the hole, NXT, the WWE Network will be just fine.

1. The Future - Wrestlemania XXX was the start of looking ahead for WWE. A lot of the younger talent in the company were in big spots. Cesaro's win in the Battle Royal, The Shield's impressive display, Wyatt's career defining battle against Cena and Bryan's victory over The Authority were all signs that WWE were perhaps finally prepping for life after John Cena. It didn't stop there as NXT started to get exposure thanks to the WWE Network and with more eyes now focused on the brand, major signings started to take place. Guys like KENTA, Prince Devitt and Kevin Steen all signed to the WWE's NXT brand with the intention to bring them up to the main roster. They join other stand out talents Sami Zayn and Adrian Neville and are now dubbed the NXT 5. 5 of the brightest stars in the world are now under the same brand in WWE. Combining all of these players together and you really have an interesting future. It's going to be awhile before all of these guys are on Raw but it's going to be awesome waiting for them to debut. The future is only going to get brighter. Reigns is all but confirmed to win his 1st World Title at Wrestlemania 31 and after that, change begins. It's like WM 21 all over again. I'm looking forward to all the possible mega match-ups in the future, like Reigns/Ambrose/Rollins, Reigns/Wyatt, Owens/Zayn, Devitt/Bryan, Neville/Rollins, Cesaro/Itami etc. There's SO MANY great main event matches in those guys. And they aren't the only stars left. You still have plenty of other great guys like Corbin, Dempsey. English, Gotch, Kallisto and not to mention the great Divas of NXT. I'm literally salivating to see Charlotte and AJ or better yet, Aj/Paige/Charlotte. The company has the stars to make this the best wrestling company in the world. And with NJPW coming to American TVs in 2015, you best believe it's time to step it up a notch.

Biggest Surprises

5. NXT being the best thing around - When I ordered the WWE Network in February, I knew of NXT by name only. I would read the live results and I did watch one show on Hulu around this time last year but I wasn't an avid fan of it. When they announced the live special NXT Arrival, I was quite curious as Paige was wrestling on the show and so was Neville, who I read plenty about but never saw wrestle. I watch Arrival and liked it, but wasn't sold fully on it. That changed after NXT Takeover. All the main events delivered, especially the Kidd/Neville match. It was a wrestling masterpiece and after that, I became a weekly viewer. I read the results and STILL watched the shows. The last two live events aired the same weeks as WWE PPVs and both ended up being better than the PPV that followed it. I read a comment online that said NXT R Evolution was basically the Wrestlemania of NXT and it's hard to disagree. Everyone was on their best game that night and I know many will probably disagree, but Sasha and Charlotte had the match of the night for me. NXT showed that the future is bright and that no matter what division you like, the future has you covered. Will it transition well into the main roster? Time will only tell. It's unfortunate that WWE's main roster can only dream of putting a card like R Evolution but it shows that the main creative team has a lot of work to do to match NXT.

4. Batista's return bombing - They announced Batista's return to Raw in December last year and to be honest, I was looking forward to it. I've always liked Batista's in ring work and his natural big match dynamic. When he finally returned, it was nice but you could clearly see being out of the ring for 4 years did not help him at all. Then came the Royal Rumble and the rest is history. Batista was heavily booed that night, to the point where the crowd cheered for Reigns to win the Rumble while being heel. It was not to be as Reigns was thrown over the top after a great performance. The crowd in unison disagreed with the decision and proceeded to boo Batista out of the building. though he returned as a face. Batista ate it up after the Rumble went off the air, mocking Daniel Bryan and giving people the middle finger. He's very good at drawing heat. Anyway, the dream match of Orton/Batista at WM that Triple H thought up was then changed to a Triple Threat that saw Batista tap out to Bryan. Batista didn't really do anything well in his return, except winning the Rumble and letting Bryan go over him. With the success of Guardians of the Galaxy, it's unlikely that we'll see Batista back in awhile. Ah well. WWE tried and they failed with the return of the Animal much to my surprise.

3. Rollins turns heel - Everyone knew that The Shield would end in 2014. It's just one of those inevitable things that happen in pro wrestling. When they split though, everyone thought it was going to be because of Ambrose who, out of the three, just had the natural heel look and feel about him. We were all wrong. After The Shield's sweep of Evolution at Payback, Rollins showed his true colors and turned his back on his Shield brethren, starting one of the greatest runs of the year. During this time, he won the MITB briefcase and main evented 3 PPVs in a row. Rollins turning heel did wonders for his career but it also provided that shock value that WWE doesn't always hit on. It was sad to see The Shield disband but all three members are better from it. Rollins is obvious, Ambrose is basically one of the top faces of the company and Reigns is a couple of months away from ascending to his rightful throne. WWE couldn't have written the Shield's exit any better.

2. Signing of international stars - WWE has a great roster, there's no denying that. From longtime company man John Cena to Internet darling Daniel Bryan, they pretty much have every fan in mind covered. They continued that trend in 2014. WWE signed three international stars to their developmental brand NXT and I couldn't be happier. First, they announced KENTA, now given the name Hideo Itami, was coming to WWE and they did it in grand fashion by having none other than Hulk Hogan himself introduce the signing of him. If you have Hogan endorsing you, you have to be a big deal. Itami will add the style that Punk brought as Punk basically fashioned many of his moves after Itami. Maybe we'll see the GTS from Itami at one point. Itami was only the start because WWE also go Prince Devitt to come to NXT under the name of Finn Balor. Out of all the people signed to NXT, Devitt is the one I'm most excited about simply because I know what he's capable of. I followed this guy when I was watching NJPW. He immediately caught my eye and then he turned heel and formed the Bullet Club. It was interesting to see after being a fan favorite for such a long time. Anyway, I always wanted him in WWE and I'm getting my wish. The last guy they signed was Kevin Steen, now under the names Kevin Owens in recognition of WWE and Canadian great Owen Hart. Owens is the most intriguing. He's a bigger guy that WWE likes but he's agile as anything. It's a very interesting mix of styles. So in one year, WWE got big stars from Japan, Ireland and Canada and they're all considered the future of WWE. I can't wait to see how they all pan out.

1. Eat, Sleep, Conquer, Repeat - Taker's streak ends and Cena gets squashed - The Undertaker's Streak was like a given at WrestleMania. No matter the circumstances or who he was against, you knew he would win because he was The Undertaker and losing at Mania was kind of wrestling blasphemy. Well, Brock Lesnar brought everyone to reality this year. After 3 F-5s, the legendary Streak of Undertaker was broken. The fans were all shocked, I was shocked, it was an amazing moment. Now, as of December 2014, I don't understand why Lesnar OF ALL PEOPLE ended the Streak but like I said earlier, with Reigns looking to dethrone Lesnar at Mania 31, it makes sense. I certainly don't see why they could have had a younger guy just end it and push them that way. Ah well. Lesnar didn't stop there. After that, he rightfully got a shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and then won it in convincing fashion. He destroyed Cena and as Cole said, it wasn't even close. Lesnar's complete dominance over WWE's elite made him look like a complete monster and whoever does beat him, will look like a complete savior to the entire WWE. Don't mess this up Reigns.

Superstar most likely to win 1st World Title in 2015

5. Rusev - Rusev hasn't been defeated by pinfall or submission in 2014. Yeah, not once. He's on that Umaga/Khali tear of the WWE right now. If those guys are anything to go on, you can be sure Rusev will get a title match sometime in 2015. And he should. He has the look, the attractive mouthpiece and a hard hitting style. I don't know about you but I love Rusev's in ring work. He's got a nice move set and he moves around the ring like a lightweight. Rusev is rumored to be facing Cena at Wrestlemania 31 this year and I'm looking forward to seeing the match. It will put Rusev in the main event scene and I'm sure he'll give Cena a fight. He's another guy that will prove a worthy foe to Reigns and their battles should be memorable for all. A World Title reign all but inevitable for him.

4. Dean Ambrose - In wake of all the injuries to top faces of the company, Ambrose really stepped up as the #2 face near the end of the year. He's got the anti hero gimmick that everyone loves and no regard for his own safety. He likes to hurt people and the fans just eat it up. With the gimmick comes losses as Ambrose hasn't won a PPV match since The Shield broke up. Ambrose also has a smaller frame, which we all know the WWE is not in favor of. Despite that, I still think due to his in ring skills, feisty promo work and support of the WWE Universe will be enough to let him hold a World Title one day.

3. Bray Wyatt - Wyatt has already feuded with former World Champions for most of 2014. He proved in those feuds that he could carry the top belt of the company. Out of everyone on this list, Wyatt has all the tools needed to succeed. He's proven he can go in the ring, putting on great matches with Bryan and Jericho, His gimmick feels the void of not having The Undertaker around and his promo skills are the best of any of the future stars. Wyatt will definitely prove to be a worthy adversary to golden boy Reigns when the time comes and their feud will probably be THE feud of the new WWE generation. During said feud, I'm sure Wyatt will capture gold at least once. After his stellar 2014, I don't see a reason why he wouldn't.

2. Seth Rollins - This is a pretty obvious one. Rollins is the holding onto a guaranteed title shot with the MITB briefcase so him winning the championship is all but a given. I don't think they would have built the guy up as the top heel of 2014 to only let him be the 3rd guy to lose it. The only thing is the timing of it all. Reigns will win the belt in March and Rollins has until June to cash in. That's going to be a short reign for Reigns. Regardless of title reign lengths, Rollins' title reign is coming.

1. Roman Reigns - It's not much of a prediction, more of a spoiler. Reigns is penciled in to face Lesnar at WrestleMania 31. Lesnar is the WWE World Heavyweight Champion and probably will be at Mania. One would think that Reigns wins the Rumble and then finally wins his 1st World Title at Mania. I mean, who else could beat Lesnar? Who else would stand with him in the main event? It writes itself and WWE is high on Reigns. Reigns winning the belt will start a new era for WWE. It starts the era of stars like Reigns, Wyatt, Cesaro, Ambrose, Rollins and the NXT 5. Reigns is the start of it.

Best Matches of the Year

5. Charlotte VS Sasha Banks - NXT Takeover R Revolution - The best women's match from WWE all year, hands down. These two ladies went all out for 12 minutes, which is like triple the amount of time they would have gotten if they were wrestling on Raw, Smackdown or a PPV. The reason I liked the match so much was because of the build. It was a 3 month in the making match that started at the last NXT event. They built Sasha up like a strong contender for Charlotte's title and Charlotte like a strong champion. The match could have gone either way. The match itself was amazing. It was hard hitting, intense and a nail biter. Sasha played the heel very well, mocking Ric Flair and even stole Charlotte's Figure Four Headlock. Sasha even did a suicide dive to Charlotte! Are you kidding me? Even the way the match ended was epic, A Natural Selection from the top rope! Everything about this match just clicked and lined up for a fantastic match between the two and to be honest, it was my favorite match from NXT this year. Way to go ladies.

4. Dean Ambrose VS Seth Rollins - ANY of their matches - When two guys can have 3 really great and distinct matches, you know you got something good on your hands. That was the case of Rollins and Ambrose this year. These guys waged war in a Lumberjack match, a No DQ match and a Hell in a Cell match. Each match was entertaining and provided memorable moments. In the Lumberjack match, could could forget Ambrose's crazy dive in Rollins AND all the Lumberjacks? It made for the best Lumberjack match WWE has ever put on. How about the night after in the No DQ match and they did the Superlex onto all the chairs? Who else is taking bumps like that in this era? And who could forget the double table crash at HIAC? The best bump of the year hands down. And each match they had was competitive! Either could have gone to Ambrose or Rollins. This is easily going to be a great wrestling feud over a World Championship one day.

3. The Usos VS Harper/Rowan - 2/3 Falls - Battleground - These teams have amazing chemistry and made me care about the tag division again. They met each other blow for blow. Usos do a dive, Harper matches with his own dive. Usos hit a big move, Wyatts come right back. It was a perfect picture of what the tag division could be like if they just have teams put on matches like this. There's really not much more to say. These guys went all out and knew each other move for move. The double splash finish was incredible and showed that the Usos really needed to go all out to put these two monster away. This is tag team wrestling done right. Fantastic encounter between the two teams.

2. Daniel Bryan VS Bray Wyatt- Royal Rumble - This was Wyatt's first big one on one match on PPV. He fought Kane in that Inferno match but this was completely different. Bryan was super over at this time and for Wyatt to face him at the big event was good for Wyatt's career and set up his feud with Cena perfectly. This is Wyatt's defining match. It showed he could hang with the big boys and that he is one of the future stars of the company. It was the perfect way to start the new year of PPVs. Bryan really made Wyatt look good. Best part of the match was definitely when Wyatt caught Bryan for the Sister Abigail into the ring barricade. It was an excellent reversal to a move Bryan does frequently. Wyatt eventually won the match of his life and went onto to feuding with Cena but without Bryan, it wouldn't have been possible. Fantastic match up and along with Bryan/Cena, this is a match I want to see again on PPV.

1. The Shield VS The Wyatt Family - Elimination Chamber - Where to start with this one. It's really telling that at the end of 2014 all 6 of these guys are solo now and it works solely because of what these guys did here. The Wyatts VS The Shield wrote itself. The WWE had two 3 man stables, both dominant in their own way. It was the dream of the WWE Universe to see these guys collide in the ring and somehow, we got it. It didn't disappoint like I thought it would and turned out to be the match of the year. You know you got something amazing on your hands when the crowd chants, 'This is awesome' even before the first blow is thrown. The match was a war, exactly what you'd expect from two groups. All the spots were great. The double flapjack to Rollins was sick and the ending was even better. Reigns fighting back and then being grounded by Wyatt was symbolic of what's to come. That's the next top feud right there and we better get used to seeing them. Reigns taking the fall for his team didn't hurt him in the slightest but the win for Wyatt was everything. He had Super Cena to prepare for and he needed it. Anyway, it was a fantastic match and stood out because it not only lived up to the hype, but showcased the talent of each guy in the match who will definitely be representing the future of WWE. The rematches are great as well, especially the 2nd match. That boot to Ambrose and the suicide dive to Reigns onto the table, MAN. I knew this was match of the year when I saw it and nothing else could top it in the coming months. Truly an amazing match. The images won't do the match justice. GO WATCH THIS MATCH.

BOLD Predictions for 2015

3. Ziggler resurgence - Ziggler had a great 2014, ending in a great ladder match to win his 4th IC Title. As a fan of Ziggler's, I want to see more from him. He has amazing in ring skills, great mic skills and has already has exposure to the main event. With the current crop of superstars coming in, he fits right in. So, here's the prediction; Ziggler will rise to fame again. He will get back into main event form which will lead him to a WWE World Heavyweight Title match. Ziggler against any of the NXT 5 spells Match of the Year so it makes sense to put Ziggler back in the spotlight for when future does start to take shape. Plus, he's super over. Anywhere they go, he's loved. We could be seeing the next Daniel Bryan type of pops for him. Speaking of Bryan, I would LOVE to see Ziggler/Bryan one more time. I've been craving a match between the two since their epic encounter at Bragging Rights all those years ago. So yeah, Ziggler will be back in the main event, where he rightfully belongs, which will lead to a World Title match. Maybe not a reign, but definitely a match.

2. An all Shield Rumble - Since breaking up, all 3 of the Shield members haven't been exposed to one another, which is a good thing. Sure, we got Reigns/Rollins briefly and of course Ambrose/Rollins but all three haven't come together since the break up. So here's the prediction, what if those guys had a showdown at the Royal Rumble as the last 3 guys in the match? With Cena busy with Lesnar and NO ONE else but Reigns looking likely to win, it makes sense. I would personally cheer for this as I'm sure many of the WWE Universe would as well. I think it would be a nice touch, especially if Reigns is going to win it. Hopefully Wyatt is apart of the Final Four...

1. NXT's success - NXT will be the greatest weapon WWE has on their network in 2015. Why? If you haven't been reading the rest of the post, let me enlighten you. The future of the company is there. In 2015, a feud that has spanned different federations will write its next chapter in NXT as Zayn/Owens will be the focus rivalry for the first half of the year. Also, you still got Neville for a bit until he gets called up and not to mention Balor and Itami who will be around for a bit. Lord knows who else will be coming in 2015. Anyway, NXT will be the best thing in WWE. What I'm predicting is that NXT will get more focus on the main product. Maybe a NXT Title match at Wrestlemania, some NXT guys in the Rumble, and a full blown WWE VS NXT feud at a PPV, maybe SummerSlam. After R Evolution completely upstaged TLC, there has to be some battle lines drawn. What better way than have the guys compete? Zayn/Cena would be an interesting match-up and would once again be like Cena's previous battles with indy stars. Anyway, if you don't watch NXT, do yourself a favor and check it out. When it looks grim and WWE is constantly putting on crappy 3 hour shows each Monday, give a hour to NXT on Thursday to remember that change is coming soon.

What to look for in 2015

5. A better Women's division? - Just as NXT has great male superstars, they also have a line of great female talents. Charlotte is the leader of the pack. The daughter of Nature Boy Ric Flair is no slouch in the ring and has been defeating every person in her path. She's a great ring technician and her matches with Natalya and Sasha Banks are her finest work this year. Bayley is the lovable loser of NXT. She's adorable and fun to watch. Sasha Banks has the heel persona down to a science. The way she carries herself, talks and performs all scream top heel Diva and after R Evolution, I'm fully convinced of her in ring skill. She was with Charlotte every step and gave her the fight of her career. And I must say, Sasha is definitely my newest crush....not important but with those 3 women alone will give depth to the women's main roster. You have others like Becky Lynch, Alexa Bliss and Carmella who haven't proven themselves yet but in due time, they will be the ones featured on NXT's live events. If they can just transition the hard hitting style of NXT to WWE's women division, they'll be alright. Just looking at Sasha/Charlotte for R Evolution and AJ/Nikki from TLC clearly show there's a distinction in styles. They need that hard hitting one to succeed.

And yes, I will now use this time to show off some of these women...

Crushing hard right now....

4. More acquisitions? - Though WWE is on the right track with their talent pool in NXT, there are still PLENTY of guys wrestling in ROH, TNA, NJPW and even Lucha Underground that fit right in with that crop of guys. I've been hearing a lot about Adam Cole from ROH. I've never seen his work but he's from Ring of Honor and that tells me everything I need to know. Most of the guys I like now where in ROH so he must be one of the best. What about The Young Bucks? I know they were used wrongly by WWE before but they would do well in NXT. Kenny Omega is another guy like Devitt. The Wolves had a tryout match in NXT already! How didn't WWE get those guys! As you can see, there are plenty of guys still worth getting. The NXT 5 can only be in NXT for so long before they are needed on the main roster. They'll need another group of guys within a year's time to continue to carry on the greatness of NXT. If WWE could get Adam Cole, Kenny Omega, Davey Richards, Eddie Edwards and maybe Roderick Strong and you got another group of fantastic indy stars who will carry NXT to a bright future. Even if they don't get all of those guys, they definitely better get Omega. The guy is pure gold.

3. Retirement of Taker? - The Undertaker lost at Wrestlemania this year. It's happened. He looked bad in the match and his age is starting to show. There's nothing left to prove from Taker. It's time to officially announce a retirement and take his rightful spot in the WWE Hall of Fame. Taker deserves his own section after all these long dedicated years to WWE. I know there are some rumors of Taker getting a match with Bray Wyatt at Wrestlemania and that would definitely be a top match in 2011 but unfortunately, it's past. And Wyatt would look weak if he lost to Taker and I'm sure they wouldn't have Taker lose in back to back Wrestlemanias. The Undertaker has had a storied career in WWE. It's time to close it.

2. Changing of the guard - A dawning of a new day is coming in WWE. This is the first time in awhile where there are a lot of superstars right on the brink of breaking up. You have Seth Rollins, who became the top heel in the company. You have Dean Ambrose, who has become the lovable hero who always loses. You have Bray Wyatt, who is easily the most gifted on the microphone of the bunch. You have Cesaro, who puts on fantastic matches with just about anyone he competes with. You have Rusev, who's got the size WWE just loves. And of course, you have Roman Reigns, who has already been claimed as the next top star and with his pedigree and natural talent and look, it's hard to see why not. Daniel Bryan started this change at WM30 when he won the WWE World Heavyweight Title but now, it's time for the full conversion. That will happen on March 29th, 2015 at Wrestlemania. Roman Reigns will be crowned the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion after felling the Beast Brock Lesnar and WWE will go from there. They will have a fresh face superstar as World Champion and they can start lining up his challengers. Sure, you'll get the boring matches against established stars, such as Kane, Big Show and Mark Henry but what I'm looking forward to is Reigns facing people in his own class, like the guys I've mentioned. I also want to see how long before they do Reigns VS Cena because that's easily THE money match for WWE. If they can hold off until WM32, that would be great. Anyway, the new era begins once Reigns gets the three count and will only get better from there.

1. NXT/Call ups - I'll keep saying it until this post is finished. NXT is amazing and is the best thing going. You know what would make 2015 a great year for WWE? If some of those guys got to mix it up with the main roster guys and started to get more exposure. Right now, that's the thing I'm looking forward to most, to one day see one of my favorite wrestlers debut on the main roster and chase the dream of being World Champ. Of course I'm speaking of Fergal Devitt AKA Finn Balor. That's all I got now. The NXT guys have to succeed. They just have to. If they don't, I'm not optimistic about the future of WWE. Besides call ups, the general NXT programming will be great in 2015. Starting off with a Zayn/Owens feud is money and it will only get better from there. Charlotte is still the Women's Champ so you can expect more of the same from her. And you can't forget about the live specials they're sure to have. NXT's 2015 is looking very promising and if they can just apply the same effort with the eventual call ups to the main roster, then WWE will thrive in the coming years.

Superstar of the Year

5. Daniel Bryan - The guy was on track for an even better year than his 2013 run. The fans basically told WWE they weren't happy with anyone but Bryan in the main event of Wrestlemania and WWE responded. He won the championship in one of the biggest moments in WWE history and it looked like WWE was on a different path, a new era even. The story took an unfortunate turn as Bryan was forced to vacate the title in June due to injury and he still hasn't come back to the ring or even announced a timetable for his return. It's horrible to hear this as Bryan was generally getting what he deserved for working so hard. I hate that he had it all ripped away from him. Whenever he does come back, IF he comes back, I'm really looking forward to him taking his position as one of the top faces in the company.

4. Bray Wyatt - Bray Wyatt went up against some top names in 2014. He started by defeating the hottest superstar Daniel Bryan. CLEANLY might I add. He started his program with John Cena and managed to sneak a victory over the Cenation Leader at Extreme Rules. Jericho came back and Wyatt won his feud over him. He then started feuding with the hottest rising star Dean Ambrose and beat him twice. Simply put, it was a great year for Wyatt, one that made him a household name. He didn't win the World Title this year in his only shot at it but he was relevant for most of it. The repackaging hurt him and messed up his momentum but in 2015, expect this guy to be the best villainous heel in WWE.

3. Roman Reigns - Roman Reigns' 2014 was all the prep him for his ascension to the throne. The throne of Golden Boy status. Reigns had a nice year from Shield powerhouse to future star of the company. He was around for most of the year, spearing anybody he could. He broke the record for eliminations at the Royal Rumble and was runner up to Batista. He helped his Shield brothers defeat Evolution twice. He had his breakout singles match against a game Randy Orton at SummerSlam and won in his most impressive outing of his career. Reigns then beat Rollins on a Raw before Night of Champions and then unfortunately had to take time off due to injury. He was only gone 3 months but unlike Wyatt, his momentum is higher than ever. He's still getting great reactions from the crowd and I'm sure everyone is looking forward to seeing what he does in the Royal Rumble this year. Reigns looked good this year, as he should have. He's going to be World Champion in 3 months so I would expect nothing less. Maybe next year he can win the Superstar of the Year award for real.

2. John Cena - The golden boy had another great year in his career that included winning his record 15th World Championship at Money in the Bank 2014. Cena is still the top draw, the headliner, the guy who runs the place so it's not surprising. Cena took time to feud with some of the newer guys, like Wyatt and Rollins while reigniting his feud with Brock Lesnar during the summer. There's really not much else to say about it. Cena stayed healthy all year long, had a 9-3 record on PPVs and showed no sign of losing steam yet, even after wrestling for 12 years for the company. In 2015, I'm sure Cena will feud with other young stars, most specifically Rusev and of course, win title #16. 2014 was another good year for the golden boy.

1. Seth Rollins - Easily the best and most consistent superstar WWE had on their roster. No injuries, no reairing of promos to bring him back to TV. Seth Rollins was on TV at the start of the year and ended the year the same. Let's talk about his yer. He had an impressive showing in the Rumble, basically foreshadowing to his appearances to come at the big event. He was apart of the match of the year at Elimination Chamber against the Wyatts. He helped in destroying the Attitude Era at Mania. With his Shield brethren, they swept the returning Evolution in their feud. Rollins turned his back on his Shield brothers and started his corporate rise, which led to victories over Ambrose three times, (yes, I'm counting the forfeit) Reigns, (also counting the forfeit) and of course, the Money in the Bank briefcase. Rollins went undefeated at PPVs from Wrestlemania XXX to Hell in a Cell. That's a 8 PPV winning streak. Quite impressive if you ask me, seeing as the last person I can remember doing that was John Cena. Not only did he win, but his match quality was fantastic as well. Like I said, he was apart of the war that was The Wyatts/Shield I and his matches with Ambrose showed off why this guy is the future of this company. With the MITB briefcase, the sky is really the limit for this guy. He's pretty much guaranteed to win his 1st World Title next year and I can see him in his first big profile Wrestlemania match at 31, maybe against Mr. Randy Orton. Rollins started the year as an afterthought, just the lowest ranked member of the awesome Shield faction but at the end of it, easily the most successful member of the group and the top heel in WWE. I did not see this coming.

There you go, WWE in 2014. Not a bad year but not an amazing year either. As many good things WWE did this year, like NXT's rise, prepping for the future and launching the WWE Network, there was a downfall, like Lesnar holding the title hostage, consistent lackluster Raws and just bad booking decisions. 2015 will start the Roman Reign, an era that will feature Reigns and Wyatt as polar opposites but great rivals. An era where size won't hold you down from the main event because everyone looks alike. An era where guys will succeed based on athletic ability, not size....

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! 2015 will feature Cena winning his 16th title, people complaining, and several superstars will be buried. Bright side, we all know one will succeed, that one being Reigns. There's a chance the others will get their shot too but we will just have to wait and see. I'm ready for 2015 and the Royal Rumble, which I WILL BE ATTENDING! It's going to be sick, I can't wait!!!

Well, come on back in 2015 where we will continue to talk all things WWE! Best of 2014 gaming post is coming, just gotta finish some of the late candidates, like Shadow of Mordor, Alien, etc.

NXT R Evolution AND WWE TLC predictions!

Rejoice wrestling fans! WWE is putting on two different big live event this week, one showcasing the future of the company and the other showcasing the gimmick match palooza that is TLC. It's certainly going to be a treat. Let's start with NXT first.

NXT R Evolution is the 4th and probably final event of the year and will be shown on the WWE Network. NXT has put on 3 previously solid events so it's obvious my expectations are very high for this one. I'm WAY more excited about this than TLC, mainly because I have investment in more matches here than TLC. I'm pulling for people to win more on this card than TLC's basically. Let's breakdown the matches.

The opener should be the NXT Tag Title match, which will pit The Lucha Dragons VS The Vaudevillains. NXT's tag division is promising, with teams like The Ascension, who will most definitely be getting a call up after R Evolution, Balor and Itami, Murphy and Blake, Jordan and DIllenger, etc. NXT clearly has no shortage of teams but just like WWE's main roster, it's just not the most exciting division. That being said, I'm sure it will be a good match. They had a good match for the #1 contendership back in August so this should be more of the same. I don't really know what heel teams would really feud with the Dragons after this match. I don't think the NXT Universe would like a Buddy Murphy and Wesley Blake/Lucha Dragons feud, even if they put on great matches. I also don't see a quick title change right after them getting the titles from The Ascension. This is definitely a tough one to call. If Balor and Itami stay together as a team, whoever wins this will drop to them. I don't think the titles will keep flopping from team to team so I'm going with The Lucha Dragons to win. I'd love to see The Vaudevillains pick up the win though...

Kevin Steen, now given the NXT name of Kevin Owens, will make his debut on the show. It's not known in what proportion. Will it be a opening promo like Kenta or will be fight someone? Regardless, I can't wait to see how they do it. Owens is apart of the NXT 5, who we're all hoping will make it to the big times and produce change throughout the WWE. The way he's handled is very important. I would like to see him placed straight into the main event as his long time friend and rival is more than likely going to capture the top title of the brand shortly. We'll just have to see.

The Ascension will face Hideo Itami and Finn Balor in what will probably be their last NXT Live Special match. The Ascension really have nothing left to prove in NXT. They've already held the tag titles for close to a year and even if they won them back, it's kind of pointless to be honest. They need to head onto bigger and better things, like the WWE Tag Team Titles. The Ascension VS The Usos should be penciled into Wrestlemania 31 or for a spring time feud. It should be a good match that showcases the future that lies in Itami and Balor. They will obviously walk out victorious over the most dominant NXT tag team in history.

NXT doesn't have a midcard championship, which is a good and a bad thing. It's a bad thing because there's only one title the single guys are chasing and not enough guys are getting the proper shot, like, how are Zayn/Neville/Owens/Itami/Balor ALL feud for the belt and leave guys like Corbin and Dempsey out? I think they need a lower title. For now, though, it's a good thing because it puts a lot of focus on the other singles championship, which is the NXT Women's Championship. The NXT Women's matches have been the most consistent matches of the live events and you can argue that Charlotte VS Natalya is one of the top matches of the year. For this match, we get the champion Charlotte defending against her former friend Sasha Banks. This will be another great women's match for NXT. It's a first time meeting between the two (at least for me) and there's some definite tension between the two. It's clear to me that Charlotte only beat Bayley to lose to Sasha. And why not? Charlotte has carried the Women's division in NXT far enough. She made her debut on Raw this past week and I know it was just to promote R Evolution but you would think you would promote that with a win at least. She lost by a freaking roll-up! This just shows me that they are getting ready for a title change come Thursday. Sasha Banks will defeat Charlotte for her 1st NXT Women's Championship, definitely not without interference from Becky Lynch and Bayley. Charlotte will then will be fazed out of NXT to the green pastures of WWE, but probably closer to Mania season. Hopefully.

The main event of the show will most likely be a match of the year candidate. Adrian Neville will put his 10 month title reign on line against Sami Zayn, who said that if he cannot dethrone Neville, he will leave NXT. Well, that pretty much just gives away the match huh? Still, it will be an adrenaline ride to the finish. I'm expecting a false finish with Neville hitting the Red Arrow on Zayn, only to have him kick out at 2 and vice versa with the Hellvua Kick on Neville. It will easily be the best match NXT has put on all year. After about 20 minutes, Zayn will finish off Neville and will finally be crowned NXT Champion.

NXT R Evolution is going to be amazing and I seriously can't wait to see what will happen at the big event. This event will be the start of NXT's amazing 2015.

TLC will air Sunday and after Thursday's amazing NXT event. It will be the 3rd PPV in a row without a WWE World Title match. 9 matches are on the card. I'm not going to waste too much time here.

A New Day win.
Ryback wins.
Miz and Mizdow win.
Nikki Bella wins.
Rusev wins.
Erick Rowan wins.
Luke Harper wins.

NOW, for the main events. The match that made this PPV for me, Bray Wyatt VS Dean Ambrose in a TLC match. This is going to be insane! Two of the craziest superstars in WWE history will collide with all goodies legal. This really should be the show ender but we all know Cena/Rollins will get top billing. Anyway, this is going to be an absolute war. I expect plenty of crazy spots from both guys. Wyatt technically won the first meeting and Ambrose hasn't won a PPV match in awhile, since Payback. I don't think this feud will be over, even after this crazy match. Ambrose will get the hard earned victory but I expect these guys to have a rubber match on the first Raw of the year.

Rollins will main event a PPV for the 3rd straight time! It's good being the top heel in the company huh? Anyway, Rollins faces Superman Cena in a Tables match. Rollins/Cena is a future title feud that will stretch many PPVs and the two will have fantastic matches I'm sure. Just look at Bryan and Punk. This match? Not really looking forward to it but that's mainly due to the gimmick of the Table match. It's just set the table up, try to put your opponent through it, rinse and repeat. It's not my favorite match type. Cena's opportunity at Brock Lesnar is on the line here. While I would love to see Cena lose and have, say, Orton VS Lesnar at the Royal Rumble, I know WWE are just set in pushing the rematch of Lesnar/Cena. And maybe we'll get a Randy Orton appearance? Cena wins and retains his #1 contendership, despite WWE having plenty of other stars who could face Lesnar.

So, TLC is lacking. I'm not saying it can't be good, I'm just not looking that forward to it like I was Survivor Series or NXT R Evolution. Harper/Ziggler, Wyatt/Ambrose and if the Divas can actually get some time, should be good matches. The rest is just filler until next month's Royal Rumble. Speaking of that, it's almost time for Wrestlemania 31, which means it's time to speculate who will be facing who on the big event. Here's what I see.

Roman Reigns VS Brock Lesnar - The given main event that will crown a new face of WWE.

Sting VS Triple H - The match that was set up at Survivor Series. Not completely sold on the match and it could be down right awful.

Bray Wyatt VS Undertaker - A bit of a stretch but the match of the two supernatural beings of WWE. Taker can past the torch to make Wyatt look good or Wyatt can continue his streak of feuding with the top stars.

Randy Orton VS Seth Rollins - The match of the night if done. This has been brewing since Orton was taken out by Rollins and will happen, just not sure if they'll make it to Mania.

John Cena VS Rusev - Come on, he's the only guy left Rusev hasn't beaten.

Don't know what Ambrose will do. He's one of the top stars in the company so I know he won't be left off the card.

Ok, that's it! Be sure to check out NXT on Thursday! TLC, eh.

The CM Punk Situation

I'm a huge CM Punk fan. He's one of my all time favorites with Triple H and Edge. I like his look, his in ring style and of course, his epic mic skills. When he suddenly left after the Royal Rumble this year, I was pretty bummed. Regardless of what and how, Punk was one of the top guys in the company and one of my favorites. I was upset by his departure because it was right around Wrestlemania season and I was really looking forward to Punk finally beating Triple H on the grandstage of Wrestlemania and getting the win he should have got at Night of Champions in 2011. Alas, the match never happened and of course, Bryan went onto to Wrestlemania to have one of the biggest nights in Wrestlemania history, defeating Triple H, Batista and Randy Orton all in one night. That's a pretty impressive feat. I haven't really had a chance to really talk about this because I really didn't have a reason why Punk left but now that I've taken the time to listen to his podcast and his side of the story, I just wanted to weigh in on some things he said during it.

The first big thing I want to focus on is the fact that Punk said he came up with the idea for The Shield. They were suppose to be a group that helped him out and such and that he was going to feud with individually AFTER Wrestlemania 29 so Punk would have some type of direction. In The Shield, he wanted Ambrose, Rollins, and Chris Hero, or, Kassius Ohno. The WWE machine wanted Reigns apart of the group and Punk went with it because he understood the group needed a pretty boy as he said. Let's just take a moment to process all of that. Could you imagine the group under the wings of CM Punk? The group would've been even better than they turned out to be. And it would have led us to some amazing PPV matches between Punk and the members. Punk says for whatever reason, it didn't happen like that though and we all see what's happening with the members of The Shield now. I believe that everything does happen for a reason but I would've like to see Punk with The Shield. I originally thought they were going in that direction when they kept helping Punk out in title matches but whatever.

Punk also talked about the move many wrestling fans didn't like in 2013; The Rock ending the 434 day title reign. Punk talked about how he tried to tell management that it was the wrong move and to at least have Punk involved in the WM29 match between Cena/Rock or have him face Taker with the belt on the line in the main event, which would have worked PERFECTLY by the way but the powers at be didn't want any parts of that and shot him down. The Punk/Cena/Rock Triple Threat main event really wrote itself. They all faced each other during this time period and it would have been a much fresher main event than the one we got. I understand Rock had to get the championship during his run, but come on! It was a perfect Mania match up. Even better than that was Undertaker VS CM Punk; Title VS The Streak. Those kind of matches always worked for Taker in the past. His 23 match with Batista was great and my love for the Edge/Taker main event match at 24 is known. Undertaker is one of the biggest names in WWE history. As a big name, I believe you deserve to get one last title reign. All they had to do was to have Taker beat Punk and then Taker could've dropped it the next night in some type of shady fashion to Punk. Cheap, but the fans would've loved it. And it's another match that wrote itself but alas, we got Punk/Taker in a meaningless but fantastic one-on-one match, which led to more and more frustration from Punk who was tired of losing to part timers.

After hearing everything Punk had to say, I feel bad for the guy. All the people who are harassing him because he 'quit' make me sick. The guy is human, he's prone to things like pain, feelings, etc. He's not some robot or sideshow freak for everyone's entertainment. At the end of the day, he made a decision that he felt was best for him and his wife. There's life AFTER wrestling everybody and Punk was looking at that. And with WWE, there wasn't a future for him. Do I miss Punk? Hell yes, especially since apparently, WWE is now focusing on the future stars more and more. Guys like Reigns, Wyatt, Ambrose, Cesaro, and Rollins are leading the charge followed by the NXT 5. All of those guys could have used someone like CM Punk to learn from and to have fantastic matches with. It really sucks as a true wrestling fan to see that.

Other than that, I wish Punk the best in his life. Hopefully, he'll do something else besides stay at home, like movies or TV shows because I generally like the guy as an entertainer. As a fan, I finally have closure. I didn't deserve it and Punk didn't have to tell us but I'm glad I got it. Now, it's time to look to the future of the company. A future that shines brighter because Punk had the balls to speak his mind and I like to believe that SOMEONE in the powers to be realized Punk wasn't as crazy as they thought, though they'll never admit it. Long live CM Punk

Survivor Series 2014 predictions

This is it. The last big PPV of the year and for the first time in 9 years, we have a main event 5-on-5 traditional Survivor Series elimination match! These type of matches and the Royal Rumble are two of my favorite reoccurrences in the WWE. I just like all the possible ways this could go. Let's start breaking it down!

First and foremost, why why WHY isn't WWE using this opportunity to showcase the talent of NXT? They could've used those guys in a SS match as well. Imagine, Neville, Zayn, Itami Balor, and Corbin teaming up to face Kidd, Gabriel, The Ascension and Breeze? That way, not only do you push the next NXT live event, you give these guys exposure on the big stage! It could still happen, maybe as a last minute type of thing but I don't think it's likely. Even if they didn't do that, they could have Neville defend his title against Kidd, Breeze, and/or Zayn. Obviously, Neville would win but he's the next guy who will be getting a call-up so, I'd use this time to make him look good before being fed to Cena. Anyway, NXT needs a presence of a big PPV like this.

The Divas are getting a SS elimination match so why NOT NXT? Heel Divas win with Paige being the sole survivor.

A Fatal Four Way for the Tag Team Titles! I'm pretty bored with the tag title picture right now. How did they go from the exhilarating matches of the Wyatts and The Usos to this? They were on a roll and now, it's back to vintage WWE. I'm not blaming Gold and Stardust but, once they won the belts, it started getting bad. Never fear, because Miz, who's competing in his 3rd consecutive different championship match at a PPV, and Damien Mizdow are here to resurrect the division! The best gimmick going is the stunt double antics of Mizdow. It's one of the greatest things WWE has done this year. They should obviously give these guys the belts or back to The Usos. With Balor and Itami taking on the Ascension in December, it should only be a matter of time before they get a call-up and wreck havoc on the division. For now though, it's all about Miz and Mizdow. They get the much deserved win.

It seems that completely out of nowhere, there are rumors flying around that AJ Lee will be leaving WWE. This would be the biggest blow to this division, especially seeing how we just got Paige on the main roster and Charlotte coming in 2015. Not to mention Bliss, Bayley, Lynch and my current NXT crush, Sasha Banks. The division is full of life and if AJ, who is the top Diva in the division leaves, well, it would be horrible. Hopefully, they are just rumors. AJ will face Nikki for the belt. Now, if the rumor is true, then I guess Nikki will win the belt, but what about the unspoken rule by Vince that none of the total Diva girls can win the Divas Title? Nikki is the star of the show! I'm definitely not against a Nikki title reign after her match with Brie at HIAC but I'd prefer Paige be on top. Despite the rumors, I really think Nikki will win the title with the help of her sister. Why else turn her heel in the first place? Nikki wins.

Bray Wyatt VS Dean Ambrose. This is what I'm talking about. THIS is a future type of match up here! Ambrose and Wyatt have similar gimmick traits, that being, they are both out of their freaking minds, so this is a match made in heaven. It won't be the most technical match of the year, like I'm expecting Zayn and Neville to be in December but it will definitely be a war between the two stars. Hopefully the match gets plenty of time and this should be another MOTY of the contender. With Wyatt returning just a couple of weeks ago, I don't see a loss for him here. Wyatt has been one of the most consistent guys on the roster when it comes to good big PPV matches so I expect him to definitely deliver here and to win the first match in this feud. This has the potential to be a fantastic feud, here's hoping the match delivers.

The main event features the biggest Survivor Series match in 10 years. With the major implications in this match, it could change the long term future of the WWE. Team Authority, which consists of Mr. Money in the Bank Seth Rollins, Mark Henry, Kane, United States Champion Rusev and NEW IC Champion Luke Harper. This is a bomb squad of heels, ranging from the past, present and future of this company. Rollins, Harper and Rusev will all be facing each other and carrying the company for the years to come. Henry and Kane are proven heels already and add the monster factor to the team, not to discount Harper or Rusev though. Their opponents are John Cena, Dolph Ziggler. Big Show, Ryback and....ERIC ROWAN? Are you kidding me? Rowan is an absolute shocker and I'm looking forward to seeing what type of element he'll bring to Team Cena. Both teams are very similar, both have 4 physically imposing guys and one smaller guy, both are composed of some of the top stars of the company, etc. With the stipulation that The Authority will be out of power if they lose, this is a really big time match up. It looks like with the added stipulation that if Team Cena loses, everyone but Cena will be fired, that a Team Cena victory is all but inevitable. I'm kind of leaning towards that realization. Come on, the whole team will fired? That's kind of drastic and unrealistic if you ask me. Triple H would fire Big Show, Rowan, Ziggler and Ryback? I was all on board for a Team Authority win until that stipulation was added. It should be a nice and long match but the result looks to be the obvious one. That's why I'm NOT picking Team Cena to win. It's Survivor Series! Screwjobs are ALWAYS happening at this event. I'm not sure what will happen, but Team Authority will find a way to win, that is unless Orton or Reigns has something to say about it.

With this PPV being FREE to anyone who has the Internet, all eyes will be on WWE. They have to succeed on this PPV to get people to subscribe to network and satisfy those who are currently subscribing. It should be an interesting night to say the least.

Best of 2014 - Prologue

It's November, which means it's just about time to start looking at the best of my interests in 2014! It's been a hectic year for me and this year was easily the least amount of time I gave both my interests, video games and wrestling. I'll be on vacation in December but I wanted to use this post as an introduction to what's to come in the posts ahead. First, video games!

2013 was one of the best years for gaming in recent history. From a big blockbuster games like GTA5, to the fantastic reboot of Tomb Raider, to the amazing new IP Last of Us and with the mind blowing GOTY that was Bioshock Infinite, it was certainly a stellar time to be a video game fan. 2014 has been met with some great games, sequels and new IPs, but a lot has been delayed. Evolve, the next gen game from the people who brought you Left 4 Dead, was pushed back to 2015. The last game in the critically acclaimed Arkham series was pushed from October ALL THE WAY to June 2015. It's not many but those were two big releases for the new generation and now, they make 2015 even bigger. That's not to say that 2014 hasn't been met with some really unique and amazing titles.

Dark Souls II is currently my favorite for Game of the Year. It wasn't anything new or groundbreaking, but sometimes, that's fine. It was more of the strategic, soul crushing gameplay that I love so much. The length was a little less than Dark Souls 1 but eh, that's cool. Or maybe I just got so good that I ran though it. Yeah, that definitely wasn't it. I remember the first area of the game killing me for 3 hours before I finally got to the boss of that section. The feeling of defeating each boss in this game is such a gratifying experience. Seeing The Purser fall before me after killing me about 10 times felt real good. It's obviously a great game and formula, just ask Lords of the Fallen, which is just Dark Souls on next gen. That's not a bad thing, but it's just not distinct enough.

Danganronpa is another game sitting VERY high on my list for this year. Many will say it's not really a game but it really did it for me. The story with all its turns and the Phoenix Wright contradiction style gameplay, it was a great match. I'm really into the visual novel type of games nowadays and it was just on such a high level that I couldn't put it down. I played it every chance I got in August and obviously beat it in a week, right before 2 was released. Still haven't played 2 just yet but if it's anything like one, it's going to be a treat. I think I put 20 hours into the first one. It's the best time I've had with my Vita, besides the nostalgia of Persona 4. I'll hopefully be playing 2 before the year's end and I seriously can't wait.

Super Smash Bros 3DS. Man, I wasn't expecting this. I didn't even have the 3DS version preordered until I got Hyrule Warriors. I just thought that my hype for the Wii U version would go down if I played it. It's the exact opposite actually. I'm even more hype for the Wii U version now! Single player wise, like any fighting game, Smash Bros is obviously played best when you have people with you but I've been having PLENTY of fun just smashing it up alone. Shulk and Little Mac are my two standout new characters. Mega Man was hard to get used to but I love him as well. With all the new modes announced for the Wii U version, I'm very glad to have played the 3DS version. It was like Smash Bros lite, without really even being lite. There's over 30 stages, close to 50 characters, how would this game be considered lite? Just wait until the 21st. Anyway, I'm sure Smash Bros Wii U will play just the same but I'm looking forward to the challenges and the Master Hand/Crazy Orders mode. And it comes out on Survivor Series weekend! Double win!

South Park: The Stick of Truth was awesome. It was short, but those 10 hours were well worth the wait for the game. It's crazy that South Park may have had the best RPG this year but it's reality. It's basically like playing one super long South Park episode with RPG elements. It has the South Park humor but Obsidian's RPG mastery. It's really the best of both worlds. If you haven't tried it, please do. It's one of the better RPGs of the year.

Last games I want to name drop are two I've been playing actively on my new Xbox One. They are The Evil Within and Sunset Overdrive. The Evil Within reminds me so much of Resident Evil 4 and that's no shock as the guy who made RE4 made this game. That being said, it's an amazing terrifying experience. It has a genuinely creepy atmosphere and is true survival horror. I never feel overpowered in the game and there's even certain terror in just the basic enemies of the game. And the bosses. THE BOSSES. All of them are downright strange and highly scary. From their unpredictable movesets to their appearances, these guys are downright nasty. Only real problem with the game is the crazy story. I'm in Chapter 13 and I'm still not 100% sure I know what's going on, but I'll hold my final judgment until I beat it.

Sunset Overdrive is easily the most FUN game this year. Games take themselves too serious sometimes and while I enjoy the seriousness of Last of Us and Tomb Raider, I love even more the offbeat humor and laughs I get from games like Saints Row. SO is basically Jet Set meets Saints Row III. You can grind on basically anything, bounce on anything and even air dash, all while shooting infected humans called OD, who all drank a new energy drink and are now mutated disgusting creatures. It's awesome. I'm not that far in due to work and me just jumping around and doing side missions but it's pretty awesome. There have been plenty of good games but this is one of the rare FUN games to play this year, along with Binding of Issac and Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call. It's such a great experience and I'm glad I was able to get a XONE to play it. Best exclusive yet.

The year isn't over yet. There are still other top titles that are out that I haven't played yet, like Bayonetta 2, Danganronpa 2, Bravely Default just to name a few. And there are still some other titles coming out like Smash for Wii U and of course, a game I have NO DOUBT will sit along my Top 3 games this year, Far Cry 4. It should be interesting to see what happens once I get to play them all.

Big predictions for 2015 include:
- RPG fans will get to play Final Fantasy XV, Xenoblade Chronicles X and Persona next year. Full releases, not just the 3 hour demo. XBCX will release in May, Persona in August, Final Fantasy in November. Kingdom Hearts III will NOT release. Sorry
- Zelda? Pushed back until 2016.
- They'll announce a new Metroid entry on either 3DS or Wii U. And Castlevania on 3DS.
- Bayonetta, will be a DLC character for Smash Bros.
- Crackdown will get a solid release at E3, most likely a holiday 2015 release.
- Watch Dogs 2 will be announced
- A new Mario RPG will be released for Wii U, mainly to help the wait for the pushed back Zelda

Most of these are just hopes, others, just common sense. I'm craving a console Mario RPG release. We haven't had one in over 10 years! Same with a portable Castlevania. Common sense tells you KH3 won't be released anytime soon just because of the people behind it.

Next up, wrestling!

It's been a crazy year in WWE. From the whole Batista situation to Undertaker's streak ending to Punk walking out, it's definitely been some year for the company. There have also been a lot of good moments as well. The WWE Network launched! That announcement made me mark out so hard. It was a long time coming. With the WWE Network came more opportunity to showcase more of WWE and with that, NXT live specials starting happening and let me tell you, if you haven't watched one yet, please watch the one coming up on December 11th. It's easily the best thing WWE has going and it's only going to get better. This year, they've signed some top guys to get their WWE careers started down there, including former Ring of Honor World Champion Kevin Steen, the former leader of The Bullet Club from NJPW Prince Devitt and the international sensation KENTA. With Sami Zayn and Adrian Neville, NXT is home to some of the greatest wrestlers in the world today. And it's only going to get better.

This year shifted a focus to the new superstars to come. Obviously, John Cena and Randy Orton were still relevant for most of the year, as well as Kane for whatever reason, but WrestleMania XXX showed that change was coming. From The Shield's dominance over the Attitude Era, Cesaro's impressive feat of strength, Wyatt giving Cena a fight, Taker's streak ending and Daniel Bryan's triumphant win, it's like they hit reset. Bray Wyatt, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns were all in big profile matches in the months to come with each superstar being in a main event of a PPV. Along with Cesaro and Rusev, these guys are the next top guys in the company. Reigns is very close to being the first breakout star as there are rumors aplenty going around that he will in fact main event WrestleMania 31 against the Beast to win his first title. I'm all for that. And of course Rollings will be champion as well since he's carrying around the briefcase. It's not a matter of if, it's just when will WWE pull the trigger on all of these guys. If you mix these guys with the NXT 5, Baron Corbin and Bull Dempsey, you have a bright future for the company. You have powerhouses in Corbin, Dempsey, and Rusev, high fliers in Zayn, Neville, and Rollings, technical tacticians in Devitt, Cesaro and Kenta, and guys who have the complete packages like Wyatt, Ambrose and Reigns. It's a fantastic time to be a wrestling fan.

There have been some amazing match-ups this year. Bray Wyatt and Daniel Bryan from the Royal Rumble really opened my eyes to what an amazing competitor Wyatt is. It was a great first match at the first PPV of the year. Who could forget the first war between The Wyatt Family and The Shield, which was met with a 'This is Awesome" chant before they even started the match? A match that surpassed the hype that surrounded it and made all 6 guys household names for the remainder of the year. Harper and Rowan VS The Usos in the 2/3 Falls match is the best tag match since DX/Legacy a few years back. Both of the Ambrose/Rollins meetings on PPV were amazing and Cena and Cesaro had a great Raw match that showcased Cesaro as a future star of the company. Did I mention anything from NXT? Man, they had some year as well. Adrian Neville VS Tyson Kidd from the first Takeover is probably the best one on one technical match of the year. I know that's crazy to say, but seriously, it's up there with some of the best. The Fatal Four Way from the 2nd Takeover was the best multi-man match of its kind since...well, I don't know. It definitely was better than the F4W from Battleground! I feel like the top match will either go to the first meeting between the Wyatts/Shield, Wyatt/Bryan or the Fatal Four Way. All kept me on the edge of my seat and were filled with memorable moments. And we still have two potentials crazy matches in Bray Wyatt/Dean Ambrose and Sami Zayn/Adrian Neville, so it's still up to decision!

As I said before, WWE did a lot right, but there was a lot wrong done as well. Undertaker's streak ending was a tough pill to swallow for A LOT of people, mainly because they had a part timer like Brock Lesnar end it. I'm indifferent on it right now and I will be until WrestleMania 31. If Reigns does end up taking the title from Lesnar, then it was worth the streak. I've said it plenty of times, whoever WWE wants to deem as the next guy, they need to defeat Undertaker at WrestleMania. Well, why not beat the guy who not only beat Taker, but conquered John Cena? And with this win, Reigns will be 3-0 at Mania. Nothing to the amazing accomplishment of 21-0 but it's a start.

Although WWE has plenty of youth, when the opportunity strikes, they don't pull the trigger enough for my tastes. When Daniel Bryan was stripped of the titles and they had to crown a new World Champion, why not give it to someone different? They had Cesaro, Wyatt and Reigns all in the match and they could have all walked out with the championship? Who did they end up giving it to? John Cena, mainly because they had to have a big match draw at SummerSlam. Whatever happened to the Cesaro/Lesnar match-up? Why was that canned? While not a bigger draw than Cena/Lesnar, it would have definitely been an entertaining match. I understand they wanted to complete Lesnar's dominant year, but man, this was a golden opportunity to give someone else new the ball and see them run with it. Next year will be the year though.

2015 should be an amazing year for WWE. With Reigns slated to win his 1st World championship, that will open the floodgates for the rest of the future. You still have the NXT 5, who will all definitely be awaiting call-ups in the new year. I hope the Rumble is the rumored 40 man version this year because the NXT stars definitely deserve a spot over many of the main roster guys. Once Reigns wins, Rollings will probably be next and then hopefully Wyatt, which will probably lead Cena to winning his 16th title and maybe the mega match-up of Reigns/Cena at WrestleMania 32 in 2016. I mean, that's the ultimate goal in all of this right? Also, a main event triple threat between Rollings/Ambrose/Reigns could headline a PPV, maybe SummerSlam or a future WrestleMania. And all the countless combinations between; including Wyatt/Steen, Rollins/Neville, Devitt/Ambrose, Zayn/Steen, Kenta/Bryan, I mean, the options are really limitless. These guys are the future and I'm sure Cena will beat each and every one of them but I'm looking forward to seeing him try. I mean, we all know his record against indy guys in big matches with titles on the line. Just saying...Could we ever see Zayn beat Cena in a main event match in a PPV in Canada? Or even Steen?

Big predictions I'm making for 2015:
- Roman Reigns VS Bray Wyatt will main event a PPV. To me, it has all the makings of a big SummerSlam match but I could see them doing it at a lesser event first just to try it out.
- Neville will get a call up first, while Zayn reigns as NXT Champion. We'll probably see Zayn/Steen main event a NXT Takeover in May.
- Devitt will turn on Itami because, hey, all of the NXT 5 can't be face. Plus, I think Devitt's in ring style most closely matches Kenta's and that could make for some interesting matches. Sorry, Balor. Gotta get used to using that name.
- John Cena will get his 16th World Title. It's inevitable and wrestling purists should prepare themselves.
- Triple H will compete in a few matches next year, either against Cena or Orton.
- Reigns, Wyatt, Rollings, and Ambrose will be the final four in the 2015 Royal Rumble. The future
- Daniel Bryan won't be back in time for Wrestlemania 31. Maybe by the spring months but no, not Mania.
- NXT will move to Wednesdays with Smackdown's planned move to Thursday.
- Tyson Kidd will win a singles title this year, most likely the IC Title. If Harper doesn't beat Ziggler, Kidd surely will.
- Surprise entrants in Rumble this year? RVD and maybe Sting...

So, there you go, just a little preview of what's in store next month. I don't know the exact date I'll be posting both posts, but expect them around the holidays. Once I get through most of the games, I'll have that up ASAP. Just have to finish Sunset Overdrive and play Far Cry 4, Danganronpa 2, Bayonetta 2 and I think I'll have my final verdict. Like I said, if the year ended right now, the top 3 are definitely Dark Souls II, Sunset Overdrive and Danganronpa. For wrestling, superstars of the year include Roman Reigns, John Cena and Seth Rollins. Honorable mentions include Bryan and Lesnar put both have been around basically the same amount of time this year, which isn't long.

Stay tuned!!!

Road to Survivor Series

Hell in the Cell was one of the finer filler PPVs WWE ever put on. Seriously, I enjoyed mostly every match. I knew WWE had something special when the Bellas of ALL people had an entertaining match. It was something to behold. Of course, Ziggler/Cesaro had a great match but the shocker of the night, match wise, Cena and Orton wasn't that bad. We even got to see the AA into a RKO. It was also cool seeing the Cena shoulder tackle into a RKO as well. Pretty good match between the two. It's up there with their frist meeting and their Iron Man match for me personally. The real twist came during the main event.

First off, it was exciting to see Ambrose and Rollings receive main event billing. It was the biggest feud and the HIAC was made for it. The start was absolutely stunning, with those guys actually starting the match from the top of the Cell and of course, falling from the mid way point into the tables. That spot, in this era, was shocking to see, especially seeing how the match hadn't started yet. The match itself, didn't disappoint. All the spots were great, especially the powerbomb throw into the table. Great match and an even better ending, with Bray Wyatt making his return to attack Dean Ambrose. That will only lead to good things. I haven't seen Wyatt's Raw promo yet, but I can assume that it's good. I'm really looking forward to what's next for both Rollings and Ambrose. Rollings will most likely start a feud with Orton, which is great for his career.

Survivor Series is next up and they already announced the main event. Cena will captain a team against Team Authority. Team Cena looks to have himself and Ziggler on it right now while The Authority will have Rollings and Kane right now. There are plenty of possibilities for this main event. Randy Orton is a huge variable in this match as this could be the focal point of his face turn. The budding rivalry of Dean Ambrose and Bray Wyatt could come to play in this. We could get the Super Athlete Rusev involved. There's really no limit to the guys in this match.

I think Team Cena should be Cena, Ziggler, Ambrose, Orton and either Sheamus, Big Show or Ryback, whoever is going to feud with Rusev basically. I wouldn't use any tag teams because I think they can squeeze one more SS match on the card with the tag division, something like Dust Brothers, Slater Gator and Tyson Kidd VS Usos, Los Matadores and either Swagger or some mid card face or NXT guy. Anyway, Team Authority would be Rollings, Kane, Wyatt, Rusev and Mark Henry. Wyatt and Henry are variables due to Wyatt's general craziness and Henry due to his dominant that's what I do/don't take crap from anyone persona. It could just as easily be Cesaro and Miz instead of those two. That way, Henry/Show can have a singles match unfortunately. Maybe we'll get a surprise entrant, like Reigns. He's been out for almost his due 6 weeks right? What better way to reintroduce him, especially seeing how his breakout performance started at Survivor Series LAST year. It just writes itself! It could come down to Reigns VS Kane, Cesaro, and Rollings with Reigns doing what he does best, which would set up for a Reigns/Rollings main event at TLC. This elimination match could really set up Cena and Rusev as well. I don't know if I want to see it at Mania but I definitely do want to see the collision. If Cena/Lesnar III is happening at the Royal Rumble, then why not have the match between Cena/Rusev at TLC? That way, they build Cena has unstoppable again? Just a thought.

Obviously, the match will flesh itself out in the coming weeks but I'm very excited. We haven't had a main event traditional Survivor Series match since 2005. It's good to see the match getting it's spot on the PPV.

Hell In The Cell 2014 Predictions

The 2nd filler PPV until Survivor Series is on Sunday! Without the champion being defended, there are two big time HIAC matches on the card, one featuring the best rivalry going in WWE right now and the other features the two faces of the company, reigniting their feud that has been going on since they first came into the WWE. Oh, and there are two feud matches along with 4 title bouts. Let's go!

Randy Orton VS John Cena XXVII. Remember when this two came up and everyone was expecting this feud to be THE feud of the PG Era? Ah, good times. I really enjoyed the first match they had at SummerSlam 2007 and their Iron Man Match in 2009. Other than that, the feud has been pretty boring. I believe this is the first time two superstars will have a rematch inside HIAC, as these two guys already entered Hell once in 2009, with Orton being the victor. Though I'm speaking about this match first, I'm sure this will be the main event of the show unfortunately instead of the SHOULD BE main event between Rollings/Ambrose. Anyway, I think the fact that these guys are wrestling AGAIN in the SAME EXACT MATCH TYPE 5 years later shows the Cell doesn't have the same effect that it used to have. You think Taker/Mankind would have a rematch inside HIAC? Of course not, it was a brutal way to end their feud. Orton/Cena, not so much. These guys aren't really even fighting to end their feud. They're fighting for a shot at the Beast and his championship, which will probably take place at the Rumble. Since I think WWE is stupid and want Cena to face Lesnar AGAIN for some reason, I think Cena will beat Orton to challenge Lesnar at a later date. It's dumb, especially seeing how an Orton face turn is definitely imminent and Lesnar/Orton would basically sell itself. Imagine, the first ever meeting between the two youngest World Champions of ALL TIME. It SELLS itself! And it would definitely be more interesting than Lesnar/Cena III. I'm going with the wild card pick Randy Orton because...well, it's my blog and I want to see Lesnar/Orton.

Paige VS AJ III on PPV. I enjoyed both their single matches at both Battleground and SummerSlam so I'm looking forward to their match here. With the rumored rule of no one from Total Divas allowed to win the title and Paige will be staring on TD in January, I think AJ will retain. When the heck will Charlotte be getting her call up? I'm hopeful that after her match with Sasha at the next NXT event, she'll get the call up. Her and Neville but time will tell.

It's amazing how quickly WWE has made me uninterested in the tag team division again. They were on fire with The Usos/Wyatt Family feud. It was a feud built on the hatred between Cena/Wyatt and it was amazing. The Battleground match remains one of the top matches of this year for me, along with the NXT Fatal Four Way, Wyatt/Bryan from the Rumble and of course, the absolute war that was The Wyatts VS The Shield. Anyway, with Gold and Stardust as champions, I'm just uninterested in the feud. Sorry, but it's the truth. Why haven't the Rhodes brothers broke up yet? What the hell are they waiting for? I need Cody to break away and get his much deserved singles main event run. I mean, he fits right in with the rest of the current WWE mold. Anyway, I really don't care who wins this match. I would like to see Slater Gator get a shot at the belts one day but I think that's more of a pipe dream right now. I'm going with The Dust Brothers to win. Who's next? The future of the tag division isn't as clear...

Miz challenges for ANOTHER mid card singles title at a PPV. This time, he's challenging Sheamus for the US Title. I've been wanting to see a proper Miz/Sheamus feud for a while. They were two of the top stars of the old cream of the crop back in 2009. Remember when Miz/Sheamus/McIntyre all stood victorious at Survivor Series in 09?

Anyway, it should be a pretty good match to say the least, especially with Damien Mizdaow at ringside. Easily one of the BEST gimmicks I've seen in this era. How is he more over than The Miz? While I like Miz and his stunt double, I'm sure if you're an avid reader of my blog, you'll know my answer for this match. Sheamus wins and then will eventually go on to feud with Rusev, who will defeat Big Show. Saving myself some time. A Sheamus/Rusev US Title match at Survivor Series would be hard hitting and ugly. I want to see it.

Nikki beats Brie. That's it. It's not inside HIAC so who cares?

The match of the night should be the 2/3 Falls match between Ziggler and Cesaro. Both guys are work horses of WWE and can put on amazing matches with just about anybody they face. They've already put on some great matches before but now, it's on the big stage. Hopefully, the match gets close to 20 minutes but who am I kidding? The first two falls will be done in the first 5 minutes and the last ten minutes will be the actual match. I'm pulling for a Ziggler win, only because deep down, I want to see someone else hold the IC Title. That someone else, is Tyson Kidd. FACT. Book Kidd VS Ziggler in a Ladder Match at TLC and just wait for the awesomeness that the match will be. Ziggler wins.

The main event should be the match between best friends turned bitter enemies, Dean Ambrose VS Seth Rollings. These guys had a chaotic Lumberjack match back at SummerSlam and now, they're faced with Hell. If any two guys can have an amazing HIAC without the brutality of the old HIACs, it's these guys. This is easily one of the biggest matches of the year, storyline wise of course. I'm hoping they get a lot of time and that it's as crazy as their LJ match. Rollings beat Ambrose at SS and I don't think Rollings really needs the win here so I'm going with Dean F'n Ambrose for the win here. Hopefully, we'll get an Orton face turn and then a winter Rollings/Orton feud. That would be nice.

Hell In A Cell, while a filler PPV, plays a big part in setting up the last of the big PPVs Survivor Series. Hopefully, we'll get a big 5-on-5 match as the main event. It's the only thing they can do without the champion being present. And with Neville/Zayn already set for the December 11th NXT special, I thought we see a NXT Title match but hopefully, those guys get some exposure as well, because they definitely deserve it.

Change

(sigh) I've been working nonstop 6 day weeks at my job, which means I barely have time to do anything at all. The last weekday I had off was over a month ago. It's all due to people being in school, people moving on finding better jobs and the inability of my management team to find anyone to work here. And like I said, it's having a serious effect on my whole life. The only positive thing is that I obviously have more money than I ever had before and that's because my checks every other week have my regular 80 hours and then anywhere from 10-16 hours of overtime. Yeah, it's crazy. And I'm not really trying to complain because I just got a Xbox One and I really need to finance it with Lords of the Fallen, Sunset Overdrive, WWE2K15 and Far Cry 4 ALL coming out within the next couple of weeks, not to mention I want to buy Shadow of Mordor used as well. That's about $300 right there, and I didn't even include other games like Persona Q and Tales of Hearts R. I'll be buying games every Tuesday except Nov 4th. So Far Cry 4 and WWE come out on Nov 18th, Smash Bros on the 21st and Persona Q on the 25. So, the overtime is coming in handy. That's what's paying for those games. That's the only good thing coming from it. Everything else though, is a mess.

The only day I get off is Sunday and that's only because I'm busy with church. Lord knows if that wasn't in place if I would even get a day off. It's infuriating because I have no time for my personal life. I don't have time to spend with my wife as she works two jobs and obviously our schedules don't always match up to see each other. Fridays are the best example of this. She works in the morning while I work at night and then when I'm getting off, she's right back out to work again so I don't end up seeing her until Saturday morning and that's only for a short while because I'm back getting ready for work. It's a hassle. I don't have time to effectively ready a bible study lesson. I teach certain bible studies on Tuesdays at 6 and working 6 days takes away from that. I would usually use a day off to dedicate to the lesson but now, I have to do it in spurts or just wing it. I don't like that I'm giving God part time work but I'm giving my earthly job overtime. It doesn't feel right to me. Even with all those games coming out, the only games I can really give time to are the portable ones as I play them coming and leaving work. I've played more Smash Bros than anything else right now and like I said, I just got a Xbox One and The Evil Within, which I've only put in 4 hours in so far. It came out about a week ago!

Sorry, ANYWAY, my management team can see the toll this is taking on me. I guess I show it in my face, actions or speech. I don't mean to, I'm just burnt out. Looking at my past timesheets, I've worked 50+ hours for 3 weeks straight. This will be week #4. I don't care if I have to work 50+ hours but I need another day of that isn't Sunday. It's take a heavy toll on not only my body but my relationships and time spent with games, wrestling and even my blog. While the latter isn't as important as my relationship with God, my wife and my family, I'd still like to have time to do those things. I guess this is how CM Punk felt once he got his big break. Punk went from mid card guy to super stardom and was making appearances everywhere, starting wrestling more and more and got less and less interested in the thing he loved. That's sad. I've always wanted to make more money but not like this. Not if I have to kill myself to get it. For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul? Mark 8:36 says this.

I'm exhausted. I'm frustrated. I have no relief from anyone. It's hard being the Hyatt Place John Cena. I respect people who can put their whole team on their back and not have any worries but right now, at this current point, I don't like doing it. Maybe it will grow on me but not having time for God, my wife and my interests is not something I generally like. If there is some kind of common ground, I'm all for it but my work life is like a typical John Cena match right, one dominating the other. Lesnar/Cena from SummerSlam represents my work life in a nutshell. Work representing Lesnar and me and my personal life Cena, being thrown around dozens of time without much resistance from me. Is it my fault that this has happened? Is it my fault that I'm just a good worker who's being used too much? Maybe I should speak up but it's unfair of me to think I'm the only one struggling right now. My AGM is forced to work audit now every night because the auditor we had quit. And he doesn't get a day off. Isn't he going through the same pain I am? It's even worse for him because he's salary, so anything past 40 doesn't mean crap. What right do I have to complain when I don't have it as bad?

I'll survive. There are worse things to suffer from in life. Ebola, poverty, an STD, etc. My major complaint in life is that I'm working too much and in turn, making a pretty penny. I'm sure someone somewhere is telling me to shut the (blank) up but hey, I just felt like ranting a bit.

You know my favorite part about all of this? Is when I work Monday night and then Tuesday morning. The reactions from the guests are classic. Did you go home? Do you have a cot here? You're always here aren't you? They don't let you leave huh? Haha, little do they know....

Gaming and wrestling posts will resume shortly, just let me get situated with all this. Rollings/Ambrose Hell in a Cell on Sunday! The rest of the PPV is severely lacking. Two rematches from past PPVs, along with another match to make Rusev look good and a pointless Bella match make for a disappointing PPV on paper. Also, we get Orton/Cena XXVII so that's awesome. And it will probably be the main event! SUPER. At least Orton is going to be turning face soon. Really looking forward to the Orton/Rollings feud to come. I think that could be something special. A feud that will ignite the Viper again. WWE has become SO boring without their two future stars Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt but I give props to Rollings and Ambrose for keeping it interesting. Survivor Series is next month, hopefully we get a respectable Classic SS match at the main event. It only makes sense if the champion can't compete. More on my thoughts on that to come in another post...

WWE Draft 2019 - Night Two Reaction

The 2019 WWE Draft is in the books and WOW, Monday Night Raw, while will definitely be viewed as the B Show going forward, looks freaking st...
