#BestManiaEver

#BestManiaEver

I saw that hashtag on WWE's website after the show ended and while it's a really broad statement and something that can be disputed, it was a great Wrestlemania. WWE did a great job of starting off the next line of Wrestlemanias very well and by next line, I mean the 30s. While I wished some things were different about the show, it all clicked. Everything worked. From Daniel Bryan winning the IC Title and being endorsed by some of the greatest IC Champions to Orton's AMAZING RKO to Triple H and Sting reigniting the war between WCW and WWE to Cena bringing the US Title back home to Ronda Rousey actually stepping in a WWE ring to Undertaker returning to Wrestlemania triumphant over Wyatt and the doubters to an unpredictable main event, Wrestlemania 31 had IT ALL. I don't know if it was the best ever, but it's easily one of the best Wrestlemanias of the PG/Reality Era. It could be remembered what WM17 is remembered as for the Attitude Era. Maybe. I'm going to talk about things out of order but it's all about Wrestlemania.

The Ladder Match could have went a lot longer but in the time they go, they used it effectively. Ambrose took the bump of the night. Harper did a powerbomb on him to a ladder set up on the ring barrier and ring. It looked as nasty as it sounds. Ambrose's neck snapping on the ground looked horrible and added shock value to the match. Barrett was on fire near the end and the closing moments between Bryan and Ziggler was great but Bryan would not be denied as he won his first ever intercontinental Championship, completing the Triple Crown achievement in WWE as well as being only of the only men on the roster to hold EVERY championship available for men to win, sans the NXT Titles. In another match, John Cena did what we all knew he was going to and gave Rusev his first loss and captured his fourth United States Championship, his first since he entered the SuperCena phase 10 years ago. With both Bryan and Cena winning the mid card titles, I fully expect both of them to do their best in raising the prestige that many have felt both titles have lost over the years. Daniel Bryan literally could feud with everyone in the IC Title match for the rest of the year while Cena has Rusev and any other big up and coming superstar. This will be key into helping both titles reach the status that they had in the past. It was a smart move by WWE as they allowed the future of the company to feud for the main championship. Hopefully, it won't be long before Bryan and/or Cena go back to the main event where they belong but for the time being, it's an awesome step in the right direction.

Orton's RKO though....My feed cut right near the end of the match and for some reason, cut to Big Show standing near the trophy he won earlier and then it cut back to Orton celebrating. My friends and I were heated! They showed the replay and that RKO was seriously one of the greatest of all time. The elevation of Rollins and for Orton to catch him perfectly, AHHHHHH. THAT'S a Wrestlemania moment folks! Great match that led to an epic moment.

Triple H has the BEST entrance in Wrestlemania history, hands down. He looked so bad ass coming out. I never saw something so grand and amazing like that in professional wrestling. While I thought that was going to be the high point of the match, it certainly wasn't it as the match actually delivered. I had no idea that WWE would use this match to ignite a 15 year old feud between WWE and WCW but they did and it was amazing. When DX's music hit and they came running to the ring, I was going crazy. Then, the nWo did the same! It was electric! THEN, HBK hit a Sweet Chin Music at Wrestlemania onto Sting. Let me type that again. SHAWN MICHAELS HIT A SWEET CHIN MUSIC ONTO STING AT WRESTLEMANIA. The battle lines were drawn and after a exciting match up, Sting ran at Triple H for a Stinger Splash, only to be caught with a sweet sledgehammer hit. Triple H covered and defeated Sting, finally ending Triple H's conquest of killing off the remains of WCW. I don't think many people realize just what Triple H has accomplished. He defeated almost every WCW star that came to WWE. That's an insane thing to do. Sting VS Triple H wasn't my most anticipated match to see but it ended up being one of the best matches of the night, due to the fact that WWE had a great storyline in place. This match could truly only have happened at Wrestlemania.

(sigh) Really WWE? You just couldn't have had Bray Wyatt win? After building him up so high in the last couple of months, you just put him down like that? I completely understand why Taker got the win. He had to redeem himself from his first ever loss at Wrestlemania last night. I'm not mad at that as it made sense and I'm all about making sense when it comes to the world of pro wrestling. It just, I don't know, sucks. I'm a HUGE Wyatt fan. Out of all of the NXT upstarts on the main roster, he's by far my favorite and he just suffered his 2nd straight loss at Wrestlemania. I'm always thinking long term and I think to myself now; what's next? Who's left for Wyatt? Randy Orton definitely but he's busy with Rollins. Wyatt losing puts him on an uncertain path now. What's Bray Wyatt to do now that he loss to The Undertaker, a 50 year old man who lost the year prior? It's not going to hurt his career as the best of the best have loss to Taker at Mania, but it's a huge step backwards right now. Hey, I could be wrong and WWE could have major plans for him tonight on the mega Raw, but for now, I'm disappointed. I'm not going to stop watching though as Wyatt's character is top notch and I truly believe he'll be World Champion one day. This is just a bump in road for him.

In one of the most entertaining in ring promos in Wrestlemania history, UFC Champion Ronda Rousey actually stepping into a WWE ring to confront Stephanie and Triple H, who were taunting The Rock. Stephanie even slapped Rock, which led to Rousey getting involved. It was a little long for my tastes but seeing Rousey get physical in the squared circle was amazing. The judo flip to Triple H though....Was this just a cheap promotional trick for Furious 7 or is a match between Rock/Rousey VS Triple H/Stephanie in the works for a PPV? I mean, Wrestlemania 32 needs something to fill the seats and that could be it. I'm all for Rousey in the ring. I like her in UFC and she's a huge fan. Why not have her compete in WWE? She certainly wouldn't get hurt and it's good promotion for both brands. Dana White is the only problem in all of this though. I know of his disdain for WWE and all other competitors but I'd love to see something with Rousey and WWE in the near future. Great Wrestlemania moment.

The main event was a Wrestlemania quality main event. In the scheduled main event, Brock Lesnar continued to do what he does best; conquer. Lesnar and Reigns scrapped for a while and maybe 45 seconds in, he drops Reigns with a F-5. Lesnar proceeds to suplex Reigns all over the ring and hit two more F-5s but Reigns wouldn't stay down. Lesnar even took his gloves off and SMACKED Reigns. HARD. Some of the hardest slaps I've ever seen. Reigns would channel that inner golden boy powers as he started to rally after busting Lesnar open from the ringpost and giving him a combo of Superman punches, then he got caught with a F5. I prepared for the inevitable Lesnar win but Reigns kicked out! Amazing! Reigns continues his comeback with another punch and a pair of Spears. The match looks to be over but LESNAR KICKS OUT! Both men are down and we're treated to the music of Seth Rollins, who is coming down to cash in the Money in the Bank contract, the first ever cash in attempt at Wrestlemania in the 10 history of MITB. The match turns into a Triple Threat! Curb stomp to Lesnar, it's a no go. He tried for another, gets caught in the F5, same like at the Royal Rumble. Reigns comes back with a Spear to Lesnar but he eats a Curb Stomp. With that, Rollins covered and got the three count! Rollins made plenty of history with his win. I already said it but this was the FIRST EVER MITB cash in at Wrestlemania. He's the first former NXT Champion to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. He's also the first NXT alumni to win the WWE Title as well. Ring of Honor must be happy as for the 2nd year in a row, a ROH alumni won the WWE World Heavyweight Title in the main event. Future is bright for Zayn and Owens.

For months, Reigns was looked as the one who was going to be the future. He was the one people were going to look at as a shining beacon to the future but all along, it was Rollins. The man everyone overlooked is now the one carrying the torch. NXT's Twitter account posted a very telling picture of Rollins when he first won the NXT Title to his amazing win at Wrestlemania, saying NXT is taking over. It's very telling to the people who are in NXT. Rollins winning is hope for all of those waiting to be called up to the main roster. It's like, this could be you one day in the main event. I wanted Reigns to win and I'm sure he'll still be champion one day down the line but for now, The Authority's golden boy is on the top of the mountain. So, Seth Rollins is WWE Champ, Daniel Bryan is IC Champ and Kevin Owens is NXT Champ. Ring of Honor is producing power players in their company.

One thing to point out is that Lesnar didn't get pinned in the match so while losing the title, The Beast still hasn't been pinned since Wrestlemania 29. There's a lot that could mean. It could be WWE's way of doing the needed title switch while still having Lesnar look strong. It could also be WWE's way of not having Lesnar conquered yet. Everyone still remembers that Lesnar ended the Streak last year because it was so shocking and Paul Heyman WON'T let us forget. They could still be saving a big push for the one to actually DEFEAT Brock Lesnar. To many, myself included, as of right now, Undertaker's streak ending was not in vain because it led to the rise of a new star. A star that it may have not been intended for, but it's the one we got.

Overall, like I said in the beginning, WWE Wrestlemania 31 was an amazing show from top to bottom. While Wyatt didn't win, it didn't bring down the overall event for me, like it would have for many fans if Reigns walked out as champion. I'm very impressed that WWE was able to top themselves after last year's great show and I'm really looking forward to what WWE does next now that Rollins is finally champion. He didn't break Edge's MITB record but he did win the championship! It was a much deserved ending to such a great show!

The Raw after Wrestlemania is usually like a PPV itself. Let's just talk about memorable moments in the past couple years. Rock and Cena agreed to their match at Wrestlemania 28 on this show. Rock declared his intention to become champion again on this show. Brock Lesnar made his shocking WWE return on this show. Dolph Ziggler cashed in MITB to critical acclaim on this show. Paige won the Divas Title in her first night on this show. There are so many great memories that are made on the Raw after Wrestlemania. This one will be no different. The crowd will be electric the whole night and the pop Rollins is going to get, MAN. I can't wait to here it. Will there be any debuts? Charlotte was featured on that TapOut promotion commercial during Mania last night so maybe her? Adiran Neville has done all he can do in NXT. Will he be called up? Whatever happens, DON'T miss this show. It sets the pace for the rest of the year.

Fantastic Wrestlemania! Keep it up WWE!

Wrestlemania 31 Predictions

Well, the time has finally come. This Sunday, WWE will put on its biggest event, Wrestlemania! 7 matches on the main card with 2 matches on the pre-show, including another Fatal 4 Way for the Tag Titles for the 2nd year in a row and the Andre the Giant Battle Royal. It didn't take long for that to fall off now did it? This Wrestlemania features a lot of the same from last year. It features a lot of up and comers VS WWE veterans similar to last year, which had Bryan VS HHH and then Orton/Batista, The Shield VS The Attitude Era, and Wyatt/Cena. This year continues that trend. It was a successful year for them last year. The Shield completely dominated in their match-up, Wyatt looked like a complete star against Cena and Bryan had one of the greatest performances in Wrestlemania history by defeating 3/4 members of Evolution in one night. It took Undertaker 4 years to do such a feat. All the main singles matches, except one, features an NXT alumni facing a WWE vet. Will the youth prevail or will the vets proof it's still their time to shine? Predictions GO!!!

As far as pre-show matches goes, Kidd and Cesaro will retain in a fast and fun contest while Damien Sandow will probably win the Battle Royal. Ryback is another name that could win. Hideo Itami will represent the current crop of NXT stars when he competes at Wrestlemania. He probably won't win and I'd prefer if Adrian Neville was in it because he's about to get called up, but ah what can you do?

WWE needs to start off WM with a bang. It needs to set up the show for success. Although the rest of the card won't probably live up to it, I think the IC Title Ladder match should kick off the show and get everyone's adreanaline pumping. As with all Ladder matches, it should a fast paced contest with plenty of epic spots. Ziggler and Harper alone had a great Ladder match so I'm expecting big things from those two along with Dean Ambrose, since he's insane. I'm not expecting a lot of spots from Daniel Bryan as he's just returning from surgery so anytime he does a move, I'm going to be a little cautious. There's a lot of good youth stars in this match and they could all easily walk out with the gold. Stardust could certainly use it to try and rejuvenate his singles career again. Ambrose could use it because he definitely needs a win on a PPV. It's been quite awhile since Ambrose was a winner, dating back to PAYBACK 2014. That was in June! Daniel Bryan is the likely winner as he can help get the IC Title back to its glory days as a title that's worth winning. The others, Harper, Truth, Ziggler and Barrett, aren't convincing enough to me to win. Barrett's 5th reign as champion will most likely come to an end Sunday when Daniel Bryan wins his first ever intercontinental Championship, completing the WWE Triple Crown in the process. Is it still called a Grand Slam if they win all the titles WWE has to offer? Bryan's been WWE, World Heavyweight, Tag Team, and United States Champion. I don't know if it still exists but I'm calling Bryan a Grand Slam Champion once he wins Sunday!

The Divas get a pointless match at Wrestlemania! What a shocker. Why not just have a Fatal Four Way for the belt? Why did they go from defending the title last year to not at all this year? Where is the logic?!?! Anyway, Paige will make her Wrestlemania debut when she teams with AJ to face The Bella Twins. Hopefully it's a fast affair with Paige and AJ picking up the win over the heel Divas. I could see them doing a title change the next night on Raw or Charlotte finally making her debut to help the division a bit. Lord knows it needs the help.

In what will certainly be the best technical match of the night, Seth Rollins will make his Wrestlemania singles debut against Randy Orton. This match just scream match of the night potential. I haven't been this excited for a Randy Orton match in years. It's a match that's been in the works since November and it's good to see WWE didn't forget about the storyline they set in place. After a great 15-20 minute match, I think Orton will get the win. As much as I'd love to see Rollins continue his definite hot streak, he's facing a returning Orton. Not a lot of people lose in their first match back from return. While it has certainly happened, I don't think it will here. One spot that I need to see is Orton catch Rollins from the diving knee into a RKO. Did they do that at Wrestlemania 29? Sounds like it. Anyway, Orton wins!

Rusev had a good run. He's been undefeated since his debut last year on the Raw following Wrestlemania 30. He's beaten former World Champions in Big Show, Mark Henry, Sheamus and even John Cena himself. On Sunday though, it all comes to an end. He's angered Superman and you don't do that! He may have beaten Cena once on a B PPV, but he won't get the better of him on the grand stage of Wrestlemania. Let me put this fully in perspective; John Cena has been apart of 11 straight Wrestlemanias, has main evented 5 of them, fought over a World Title at 8 of them (with him winning 6 of those) and has a record of 8-3 at the event. He holds the record of coming into Wrestlemania the challenger and leaving the champion. He's done that 4 different time at 21, 25, 26 and 29. John Cena is almost as untouchable as The Undertaker at this point in his career when it comes to Wrestlemania. Bray Wyatt found out the hard way last year what happens when you face the man at Mania. It's not a prediction, it's a spoiler. John Cena, after making Rusev look great, will defeat Rusev and enter his 4th reign as United States Champion. Both Bryan and Cena will elevate the second tier titles as the young ones will fight over the World Title. Maybe...

Triple H will do battle with Sting at Wrestlemania in Sting's first match in WWE. It's being billed as The King VS The Vigilante. It's Sledgehammer VS Bat, only in theory though because there is no stipulation on this match. What kind of decision is that? After having the two on multiple occasions have showdowns with their weapon of choice, why would they have anything less than a No Holds Barred match? Maybe it will be changed the day of because without it, the pace of the match would definitely be slow, seeing how Sting just turned 56 and Triple H is 45. Both haven't wrestled in awhile so the match will probably be very slow at first. Could it be a great match befitting of Wrestlemania? Certainly! Some of the best matches at Mania have involved older talents. Flair/HBK from 24, Taker/HBK from 25 etc. It can happen and I really hope that we'll see some type of stipulation so we'll see the use of the bat and sledgehammer. Will Triple H get revenge on Sting costing him his job by defeating him on the grand stage of Wrestlemania? No. Triple H, though known for burying many a talent in his day, rarely goes over at Wrestlemania. He's put over Benoit, Cena, Batista, Taker and Bryan all at the big event. Besides, it's Sting first WWE match EVER. NO WAY he loses. Triple H's quest to defeat all of WCW's past main eventers (Booker T, Scott Steiner, Kevin Nash, Goldberg) will end Sunday when Sting defeats Triple H in the highly anticipated contest.

Just when I thought Bray Wyatt couldn't top himself at Wrestlemania! Bray Wyatt called out The Undertaker and now they will clash in a match that features the past VS the present. Out of all the matches on the card, this is easily the hardest to decide the victor for creative. The Undertaker won 21 straight times before finally losing to Lesnar at last year'sWrestlemania. He's returning to his first Wrestlemania with a loss. Another defeat might hurt his stock in the eyes of the WWE Universe. Not to me and to his Hall of Fame career because there are many great stars who has plenty of loses at Wrestlemania but are still considered the greatest of all time, names like Triple H and Shawn Michaels. A loss wouldn't kill Taker but to many, his legacy would be hurt. Bray Wyatt, on the other hand, has a lot more to lose. He's a future star of the company, with a gimmick, in ring talent and natural look to boot. The sky's the limit with him. If he's to lose to a guy who was absolutely conquered the year before, where does Wyatt go from there? Does he reset and debut again like he did last year? A loss will hurt Wyatt. The match is going to be interesting. I don't know if Undertaker is back in wrestling shape but the pictures he's taking with fans make him seem like he's in better condition than last year. Wyatt's a stiff guy so I'm a little concerned for Taker. No matter how the match is, it should have one conclusion; Bray Wyatt winning. I'm an Undertaker fan and he's a surefire Hall of Famer but we have to look to the future. Brock Lesnar ended the Streak and no one can take it away but Bray Wyatt can make sure the Streak stays dead. Bray Wyatt will defeat The Undertaker at Wrestlemania because it's best for business. Depending on how the main event goes down, Wyatt will need to play a foil to the could be new champion, a role that would perfect for him. He NEEDS to defeat Taker. IF he doesn't, he'll live. Orton loss to Taker 10 years ago and he only got better with that loss. Wyatt could do the same but why should be since the Streak has been broken already? It's going to be a hard choice but Wyatt needs the backing. Bray Wyatt wins.

The main event of Wrestlemania 31 is a controversial one, mainly because the fans have not been happy with the push of Roman Reigns. Many will say Reigns has been shoved down our throats but he was being built up since Survivor Series 2013 as the next guy. People just haven't been paying attention. This match was a pretty simple one for much of the build, as everyone knew that Reigns was the one to win the Rumble after his great performance last year and that he was going to go to Wrestlemania and take his spot a top the throne. Lesnar was leaving after WM so it made sense that Lesnar, the man who ended the Streak and dominated the WWE since then, would be the one who pushed Reigns and make him look like a true hero. That changed on Tuesday when Lesnar announced that he was staying with WWE for the foreseeable future, which meant that the ending wasn't as clear as we all thought. And although that might be a bad thing for Reigns, NXT and the future but it's a very good thing match wise. Now, there's an aura of mystery surrounding the match. Will they pull the trigger on Reigns, who hasn't been connecting with the fans as much as WWE had hoped for or will they allow Lesnar to continue to hold onto their top title on a part time basis?

I'm very pro Reigns despite what everyone else says because he represents the future. He may not be the face everyone wants but he's the face we need. You see, Reigns is a NXT alumni. When he faces Lesnar at Wrestlemania, he'll be the first NXT guy to main event Wrestlemania and he can go even further by being the first from the brand to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. You know how much that would mean for the brand? Also, they built the guy up all this way, they mind as well pull the trigger. Let's look at if he doesn't win. Lesnar continues to hold onto the title and defend it on a part time schedule, which means he probably won't be back until SummerSlam. That's a problem for two reasons. One, no WWE Title matches for 4 months. Two, Seth Rollins will run out of time on his contract. Something has to give come Sunday.

No matter what, I'm still pro-Reigns and I'm picking him. Roman Reigns is the future and the guy to lead the charge of the next generation. Will the fans like it? No, but in the long run, this win is needed. Reigns is the bright light of the future and with his win, he'll open up to feuds with Rusev, Wyatt, Rollins, Ambrose and all the coming NXT guys. The fans will get their moment when Rollins cashes in, which is still possible for this event or even the next night on Raw. He has until June and it's basically April now. Roman Reigns wins his first WWE World Heavyweight Championship, like he's suppose to. Lesnar will come back and face Orton at SummerSlam because it makes sense.

So there you go! Wrestlemania 31 is on Sunday! It will be a show to be remembered. Will the NXT alumni start their takeover of the main roster or will the Class of 2002 and The Undertaker prove it's still their time? We'll find out on Sunday!

Pros/Cons of Orton/Rollins

If the IC Title match doesn't steal the show, this match certainly will. The Authority's Golden Boy VS The Former Face of the WWE. Let's talk!

Pros

1. Match of the night

Every Wrestlemania needs a match like this. A singles match that could potentially be remembered as the best pure match of the night. Angle/Lesnar, HBK/Angle, HBK/Taker etc. This is that match. Both have put on great singles match with Rollins being on fire as of lately. Orton is like Cena. You put him with someone who can really steal the show to elevate his game. Look at Orton's matches with Ziggler on different episodes of Raw and Smackdown to see what I mean. Two amazing talents, one ring. Let them go and give them time and this could be remembered as THE match of Wrestlemania 31.

2. Great story/build

I love how this match has come about. Timing is everything in WWE. Orton was selected to star in The Condemned 2, a sequel to the movie Austin was in years ago. So WWE needs to write him off of television for awhile so he can film said movie. Perfect opportunity to have Rollins get a lot of heat by taking out his Authority brethren, proving again that Rollins cannot ever be trusted. Rollins continues to rise during the months that Orton is out and it sets up for this major match. Orton playing around like he's OK with the attack was brilliant and his assault on Rollins was amazing. It all leads up to Wrestlemania. It's a great match that didn't forget what happened previously. Many times storylines don't have ends or play out well but this is the opposite and it's good to see.

3. First big match for Rollins

Rollins has been the true success story of The Shield's former members, He won the MITB briefcase, he was in a one on one match in the main event of the PPV and he's been pushed as the top heel in the company. Full time anyway. While he did main event a PPV and was fed to Superman Cena, he hasn't had a big singles match at Wrestlemania yet. This year, he has the honor of facing a WWE vet in Randy Orton. This will be Rollins on the big stage by himself for the first time. It's his breakout moment. Orton did the same thing 10 years ago against The Undertaker. Rinse and repeat.

4. More matches done the line

With this type of feud, there just won't be one match. Usually, whatever the WM match is, there's rematches for the next couple of months and with Extreme Rules coming in April, I can see them having a Last Man Standing match their match here. Basically, the options for great rematches are endless and it all starts with their first match.

5. Pushing of younger talent

This Wrestlemania features a lot of single matches, with 4 of them having WWE top dogs going against NXT alumni. Rollins/Orton is one of those marquee match ups. Just by having Rollins put more eyes onto him. Rollins is one of the future stars in the company. He needs to have a great performance against Orton. He needs to show that he can take it to the main event players in WWE. If Reigns is to win the World Title, he's going to need a foil to his throne. Rollins could play that role quite well and it all starts with a great performance at Mania.

Cons

1. Someone has to follow

Like the IC Title match, someone is going to have to follow this match. If Orton and Rollins get enough time and have the match I know they can have, then it's going to be a tough act to follow. It's not the worst con but seriously, you don't want to pale in comparison, especially if you're in the main event.

2. Rollins probably won't win

Orton hasn't won at Wrestlemania since 27 back in 2011, losing to Kane at 28, The Shield at 29 and Daniel Bryan at 30. He's on a losing streak and what past stars can tell you is that that fact doesn't really matter. Triple H even lost 4 straight so that's not the defining answer to why I think he'll win. It's mainly because he just got back. He just made his grand return at Fast Lane and this is his first big match back. Usually, the guy returning doesn't lose in his first match back and even worse for Rollins, it's at Wrestlemania. Hey, anything can indeed happen but Orton winning won't shock me in the slightest.

3. Not for a title

Orton/Rollins is a feud fit for the World Championship. It has the story, the characters and both stars possess amazing in ring abilities. The fact that a World Title isn't on the line sucks. I love first time match ups but what would have made this even better would've been a title up for grabs. Who knows? Their match at Extreme Rules could very well be for the WWE Title if Rollins ends up cashing in...

To be honest, this was the hardest match to come up with cons for. I love everything about this match. It had the perfect setup months ago, it features a top star VS an up and comer and it will definitely be a show stealer if given enough time. There's not a lot wrong with this match. It's the quintessential Wrestlemania match. It should be something amazing come Sunday.

The next post WILL be my Wrestlemania 31 predictions!!! How will the NXT alumni fare against their experienced WWE rivals? Who walks out with the IC Title? Will Sting and Triple H be able to wrestle? I talk that and more in my next post!

Pros/Cons of IC Title Ladder Match

As far as match quality goes, this could definitely be the match to beat come March 29th. Let's talk all things IC Title Ladder Match!

Pros

1. Exciting match

This match hearkens back to when WWE was putting on the Money in the Bank on a yearly basis. The MITB ladder matches at Wrestlemania were a smart idea. You get guys who aren't paired up already and have them contend for something that matters; a future title shot anytime they want for a year. WWE had MITB matches at Wrestlemanias 21-26 before giving it its own event in 2010. It's been quite awhile since we've seen multi man ladder match at Mania and I'm happy to see it back. It this is the match to kick off Wrestlemania then it will set the bar very high for what's to come next and historically, Ladder matches at Wrestlemania tend to be some of the best of all time. TLC 2, the first ever Ladder match and MITB 1 were all fantastic contest that I watch on a yearly basis.

2. Relevance back to IC Title

With 7 guys gunning for the championship, it makes the championship feel like it's important again. You remember the good ole days? Where the IC Title was the workhorse championship? Usually the guy holding that belt was a great performer who might one day hold the World Title once they did all they could do with the IC Title? Guys like Bret Hart, The Rock, Stone Cold, and Edge all had multiple reigns with the IC belt before going after the main title. Now that there is only one World Title in the company, the IC Title could potentially take back its rightful place as the second tier championship that it is. It's no secret that the IC Title has gone down in the last couple years. Cody Rhodes was doing such a great job of elevating the title in 2011 and I really thought he was going to elevate himself to the main event thanks to the IC Title. It didn't happen and then they starting bouncing the title around to just about anybody without care. I mean, Barrett is a five time IC Champion but doesn't have any memorable reigns. With all eyes on the IC Title come Wrestlemania, it could be the start of making the title important again

3. Great line-up of stars

There are a lot of popular and great up and coming superstars in this match. Wade Barrett, the champion, is still one of my favorite guys although he has fallen on hard times with being injured every year. Barrett is in his 5th reign with the championship and was at one time, one of the leaders of the future generation. Those days have gone.

Dean Ambrose is one of the most popular stars in WWE right now but unfortunately, they don't know what to do with him. They don't give him major wins in feuds and it just seems like he's without direction. Giving him the IC Title would help him to elevate him back where he belongs and also get him ready for the inevitable Shield Triple Threat World Title match sometime soon.

Dolph Ziggler is another internet darling who has been responsible for hurting the IC Title in the past couple years. Ziggler held the belt on three different occasions in 2014 alone. That's not a good thing. He beat Miz for it, lost it to Miz. He beat Miz again, lost it to Harper. He beat Harper and then lost it to Barrett. Playing hot potato with the title is not going to help the status of it. Ziggler does have workhorse written all over him so he basically screams what the IC Title needs. After Wrestlemania, he'll definitely be one of the guys helping it in the months to come.

Luke Harper is a big and agile guy. I like his in ring style and look. I wish he had the IC Title for longer than he did because I think a monster like him could've done wonders for the title. He's another one who will help the IC Title in the coming months.

Stardust is away from his brother and back feuding for the IC Title. It's only right that the guy who was close to restoring the prestige of the title get to fight over it at Wrestlemania. I do hope that one day, Stardust will revert back to Cody Rhodes and he can try to get back into the main event but for now, I'll take him in the IC Title hunt.

R-Truth.........NEXT

Daniel Bryan makes this match very interesting. This is the guy who main evented Wrestlemania last year. The popularity and following this guy has is exactly what the IC Title needs to raise its prestige. If you get a guy like Bryan to hold the championship, not only do you have a workhorse holding the title, but you have a proven main eventer constantly defending his title in consistently great matches. The Ladder match revolves around Daniel Bryan and for good reason.

There is some really great talent. So much great talent that it makes the Andre the Giant Battle Royal without any real big names.

4. Future of division

So, let's play the prediction game here. I know that's for another post but whatever! Let's say Daniel Bryan wins the IC Title at Wrestlemania, like he should. WWE has done a great job of already giving him enough challengers for the months to come. There's no reason why Daniel Bryan couldn't walk out of 2015 as IC Champion. Let him feud with Barrett for the next couple of months, then Ambrose then have Ziggler and Bryan steal the show at SummerSlam. Bryan will help make the division strong again and make the feuds personal and worth watching. When's the last time a IC Title feud was personal and interesting to watch AND had a promo before the match? Daniel Bryan winning could start the up again. And not only Bryan winning could do that. Anyone but Truth could start themselves now that everyone is looking at the championship. It just takes WWE to pull the trigger.

Cons

1. R-Truth

OK, seriously, WHY? Who in creative thought that putting R-Truth in this match was a good idea? SERIOUSLY? There's no reason he should be in this match. If they were to include anyone else, it should have been Kofi Kingston. One, he's actually held the IC Title plenty of times in his career and two, he could be used for plenty of spots. I guess WWE didn't want to do that though! ANYONE else could have been in this position! Miz, Big E, ADRIAN NEVILLE FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! It just baffles me that they decided to give the spot to Truth. Weird decision but he's been funny during this WM season.

JBL: "You pilfered the title!"

Truth: "I ain't no pilgrim!"

Amazing...

2. No Bryan/Ziggler

After Reigns won the Royal Rumble, many, including myself, were left wondering just what Daniel Bryan was going to do at Wrestlemania. The dream of seeing Seth Rollins VS Daniel Bryan at Wrestlemania this year slipped away, mainly due to Orton not returning to feud with Rollins quick enough. The day after Mania, Ziggler sent out a tweet, basically saying they were both without dance partners for Mania so why not steal the show together? For awhile, this seemed like the plan and why not? It would've have screamed Wrestlemania 21, where Batista, a newcomer, was in the main event at Wrestlemania, despite not being ready for it while Shawn Michaels and Kurt Angle had an amazing one on one match. You know, there's a lot of striking similarities between this Mania and 21....ANYWAY, as we know, it didn't happen and both were announced for the IC Title Ladder match, ruining the dreams of fans who wanted to see the two lock up at the Show of Shows one on one. It's not that big of a deal but a Bryan/Ziggler match would have had the fans split and would've been THE match for Wrestlemania 31. They still have a chance to steal the show together but I would have loved to see them get 20 minutes by themselves and see the results.

3. Hard to follow

If this is the first match of the night, it's going to raise the bar high for the other matches on the card. They're going to have to deliver. The only match I can see standing with this, wrestling wise, would be Orton and Rollins. Everything else, not a chance. It's not necessarily a bad thing because it's going to be next to impossible to top a multi-man ladder match but I feel bad for the rest of the matches, especially the main event. Everyone looks to it to impress and if all 7 of these guys go all out and have the match they should have, man. It's going to be a war that can't be followed.

The IC Title match is a nice surprise on the card. Most of the match announcements came to no surprise at all. Lesnar/Reigns, been in the making since last year. Wyatt/Taker, the only thing Wyatt could do to remain relevant this year. Orton/Rollins, seeds planted back in November. This is the only match that I did not see coming and I love it and can't wait to see what these guys have planned.

The last pros and cons list will be about the match between Randy Orton and Seth Rollins! If the IC Title match doesn't steal the show, that sure will!

Pros/Cons of Sting/Triple H

Triple H will face Sting in a highly anticipated match up at Wrestlemania 31. This will be Sting's first match in WWE and what better way to start than to face the man who will one day takeover operations of the company. Let's talk!

Pros

1. Wrestlemania quality match

Sting VS Triple H is the type of match Wrestlemania is made for. It's two of the biggest names in professional wrestling going one on one for the very first time. This is the type of match that can only happen first on the grand stage of Wrestlemania. It instantly draws all types of viewers to Wrestlemania, from long time WWE fans, to WCW fans who loved Sting to the casual wrestling fan who just watches for the big matches. THIS is the big match of this year's show. It's the main draw and deserving to be on the card of Wrestlemania.

2. MAKES SENSE

THIS is an example of a match that makes sense through time and booking. Sting cost Triple H his job back at Survivor Series. Triple H got his job back the next month. Sting continued to poke his nose in Triple H's business, embarrassing Triple H and the Authority in process, which finally led to the showdown and challenge to the match. It's good to see that WWE kept with the storyline and are going with the payoff. It also keeps with Triple H's obsession to defeat and bury past WCW stars. Remember in 2002-2003, when Triple H was dominating Raw and holding the World Heavyweight Championship AKA the Big Gold Belt? Remember who he was feuding with during that period? Scott Steiner, Booker T, Kevin Nash, Goldberg etc. At one point, Triple H beat them ALL. Every one of them. Sting is arguably WCW's biggest star and is one of the only ones who didn't come over when WWE bought WCW in 2001. I'm surprised they didn't bring that up but that's the interesting case they have. Sting is the last one. He's the final boss of WCW for Triple H to conquer. It's a quest HHH has been on since 2002 and he'll try to finish it at Wrestlemania. It's not intended but it does make sense!

3. Great first WWE opponent for Sting

If you're going to have a first match with someone, you can't do much better than Triple H. Triple H has been WWE loyal since the New Generation days in the 90s. He was one of the driving forces in the Monday Night Wars. There's not a lot of other better choices for Sting than The Game come Wrestlemania. And like I said in the last pro, it continues Triple H's war against the stars of WCW. Everything about this match clicks booking wise. It features two big stars in their first ever confrontation at the biggest event in WWE. What else more could you want?

Cons

1. 101 years old between them/Ring rust

They say age is nothing but a number but come Wrestlemania, when Sting and The Game wrestle for the very first time, Sting will be 46 and Triple H 45. That's a century between them. I'm not saying their age will hold them back but it definitely could be a major problem going into the match. Also, both wrestlers haven't been active in awhile. Triple H hasn't wrestled since June while Sting, well, to be honest, I don't know the last time he wrestled. I know it's been awhile though. When they come together, it may be a sloppy type of match.

2. No stipulation?

This is my biggest complaint about this match. Sting cost Triple H his job at Survivor Series. During the build up for the match, they've focused on the fact that Sting carries a bat while Triple H carries his signature sledgehammer. So it seems obvious that they'll make the match No Holds Barred. Hope, apparently it doesn't make sense. Hasn't Triple H learned from his mistake with Orton from Wrestlemania 25? Orton/HHH had an intense personal feud which led to the main event of that year's Mania. After destroying Triple H's family and Triple H getting back at Orton by throwing him through his window at his home, it seemed likely that the two would settle their differences in some type of specality match. It never happened and the main event ended up underwhelming a lot of fans. Hopefully, Sting/HHH will get a stipulation the day of Mania because it would just be a match with one.

3. So, no Sting/Taker?

When Sting was on his way of out TNA, a dream match between Taker and Sting came up. Both having similar dark gimmicks and never wrestling before intrigued fans worldwide. Well, it's not going to happen this year. This is probably more of the money match than HHH/Sting but with neither side really benefitting from losing, I guess they went a different way. Think about it; if Taker was to lose to Sting, a year ago after he suffered his 1st WM loss, then Taker seems weak losing his 2nd Mania to the person who is wrestling their first match in WWE. And Sting couldn't lose his first match up in WWE, not after being so hyped up to never have wrestled in WWE. With Undertaker's future uncertain after Wrestlemania 31, never say never but with both guys continuing to age, the longer they wait, the less the match will appeal to me. And with no Streak to break, it makes even less to do at Wrestlemania, unless it's a retirement match.

Well, there you go! Next up, the IC Title Ladder Match!

Lesnar resigns with WWE

Well, it's finally official; Brock Lesnar will stay with WWE after his Wrestlemania 31 main event with Roman Reigns. That's good and very bad news. Good because Brock Lesnar is a main attraction. There's no denying that. Since he's return to WWE back in 2012, he's been in big time feuds and matches with some of the biggest superstars WWE has to offer. John Cena, Triple H, and The Undertaker all loss to Brock Lesnar since his 2012 return. He's ended the undefeated streak of The Undertaker and dominated John Cena at SummerSlam. He's a top name. By resigning with WWE, WWE opens up more matches for the Beast, including clashes with Roman Reigns, Daniel Bryan, the match I want to see most, Randy Orton and his rumored opponent at for Wrestlemania 32, The Rock. Lesnar staying around is good for matches to come. Here's the bad news.

Brock Lesnar staying with WWE is not good for upstart Roman Reigns and the future of WWE. It's no secret that the fans have not been happy with WWE's decision to push Reigns, for whatever selfish reasons and with Lesnar resigning, it seems more likely now that Lesnar will retain and continue to hold the WWE Title hostage. SUCH A BAD IDEA. I like the fact that Lesnar is staying because it opens up more matches and draws more people to the product but for me, it's not worth it if Reigns doesn't win the belt.

Look, I completely understand and agree that Roman Reigns isn't ready to main event a Wrestlemania but guess what, once they decided that Reigns should go over Daniel Bryan, they sealed their fate. They pushed him to the moon and have to pull the trigger. The fans can boo. They boo Cena constantly but they refuse to do anything different for his character. Why are they so set on trying to hold down Reigns? Fans are going to boo regardless and if he's going to win the title eventually, why not just give it to him? Lesnar can go away and come back near SummerSlam and do his usual. I know people are going to be against Reigns winning but do you really want to have the World Title off of the main product until SUMMERSLAM? That's another 4 months from now. It's completely insane to want Lesnar to retain on Sunday. Seriously. If you love WWE, why would you want the MAIN championship away from the active performers? If the WWE NEVER put together main titles, then this wouldn't be a problem. They could've used the time to elevate the World Title while Lesnar could have held the WWE Title.

So, in closing, if WWE never put the titles together, then I wouldn't be complaining about this now. Also, if Lesnar does go over Reigns, then there's a big chance that the other top NXT alumni, Rusev, Rollins and Wyatt, will also lose on the big stage. There's no hope in a WWE ran by Vince McMahon. He is out of touch. We need Triple H to fully takeover operations for a WWE we can all be proud of.

Whatever WWE decides to do at Wrestlemania, I'll continue to watch because I love WWE. I just don't like all their decisions they make. I'm going to keep hope alive that Roman Reigns will defeat Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania and that WWE will go with their original plan.

If Lesnar is to retain, he will join Triple H and The Miz as the 3rd heel to retain the WWE Title in the main event of Wrestlemania. Elite company...

Pros/Cons of Cena/Rusev

John Cena will face Rusev for the United States Championship at Wrestlemania. Let's break it down!

Pros

1. Cena excelling at lesser role

This will mark the 2nd year in a row that Cena won't be involved in a World Title match after competing in 8 World Title bouts between WM 21-27 and WM 29. That's a lot of World Championship matches at the big event. An even better fact? He only lost 2 of those title matches. Anyway, seeing Cena taking a backseat from the WWE World Title is needed and welcomed. I'm not a fan of Cena and I've made it known all throughout this blog but I respect the guy. This is the 2nd year where Cena has faced a young heel. Say what you will about Cena but he's pushing the future here. This is a role that I can get used to seeing in the coming years of Wrestlemania.

2. Making the US Title important

John Cena feuding for the US Title instantly makes the title worth winning again. If someone like Cena wins the title, it will add the much needed eyes back on the title. People will start to care about defenses of it again and the quality of matches will definitely go up. Cena could also do his part in pushing more younger talents while holding the titles. And imagine the different PPV matches you could see. A Cesaro/Cena match would be lovely while Cena/Neville sounds just as good. Cena feuding for or having the US Title makes it important and would certainly help the rise of the the midcard title.

3. Rusev's first WM

Rusev made his roster debut the day after Wrestlemania XXX. In his first Wrestlemania, he's going to face John Cena. Like Bray Wyatt last year, this is a big honor for a rookie like him to have. Cena is THE GUY. Just putting him in the same match with Cena will do a few things. One, since it's Wrestlemania, although the obvious foreign heel, he'll probably be cheered by the smark crowd. Two, even if he loses, he'll give Cena a fight and even more exposure to himself. Rusev will come out looking strong and will definitely elevate himself as a worthy challenger to soon to be WWE Champ Roman Reigns.

Cons

1. Rematch

There's nothing wrong with having a rematch at Wrestlemania. Taker/HBK, Rock/Austin, Cena/Batista are all rematches from previous events. The problem is that this match already happened at the LAST event. They didn't even try to hold it off. WWE thought they were smart by giving Rusev the cheap win at Fast Lane. It wouldn't be so bad if they tried to add something to this match but it's the same thing as Fast Lane. It's just a plain old US Title match. Why would they do the exact same match at back to back events, especially if the 2nd event is Wrestlemania? Such an odd choice.

2. Cena wins!

Once again, there's nothing wrong with John Cena winning. He's been winning all his career, especially on the grand stage of Wrestlemania. Cena is 8-3 at the big event. The problem is EVERYONE knows that this time, Cena is going to win and give Rusev his first loss. There is no way Cena will be humiliated at Wrestlemania by a rookie. It just won't happen. Cena has lost to Orton, Miz (with the help of The Rock), and The Rock at Wrestlemania. I highly doubt his 4th loss will come at the hands of Rusev. Actually, there is no way it will. Cena will win because it's the storybook ending for this feud. Rusev has to lose eventually and after beating everyone else, there's no left, so he has to lose. Last year, while the world knew Cena was going to defeat Wyatt, I had hope that Wyatt could do the impossible. He didn't. Rusev is no different.

That's all for Rusev/Cena. I really thought I'd have more cons for this but I can't complain with Cena taking a backseat for the 2nd year. Seriously, it's very refreshing.

Next up, Triple H VS Sting!

Wrestlemania matches that should have happened

If you've been watching WWE for a long time, like early Wrestlemania days, you'll know that at Wrestlemania VIII was suppose to feature the mega clash of Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan, which would have definitely been the biggest match in Wrestlemania history at that point and looking at the future, would have kept up with mega matches happening at Wrestlemanias with 8 in them (18 - Rock/Hogan, 28 - Rock/Cena, maybe 38 - Reigns/Cena? WAYY TOO FAR). It's one of the biggest omissions in Wrestlemania history. Why it didn't happen is a mystery.

I've said all that to introduce this post. The matches I'm going to list are Wrestlemania matches that should have happened but never did. Some of these matches are my personal opinion that probably had no chance of happening in the first place while others had legit claims of happening when they did. They will be in order of which Wrestlemania they should've happened at, not but relevance. Let's start!

1. Triple H VS Shawn Michaels and Chris Benoit VS Kurt Angle - Wrestlemania XX

To many within WWE, this was the main event due to the circumstances surrounding the winner Chris Benoit but to me, it should have been the show ender as well. No offense to Chris Benoit THE WRESTLER as he was a great in ring talent. I just feel the feud with the most should close the show. It's usually the guy who's on the outside looking in who wins these Triple Threat matches. Anyway, Triple H and Shawn Michaels were in a heated rivalry since the actions of The Game from 2002. They had a brutal Last Man Standing match from the Royal Rumble that didn't have a clear winner. Why not end their feud at the grandest stage of them all? The Hell in a Cell match from Bad Blood 2004 could've ended Wrestlemania XX with HBK winning the World Title. This would've led Benoit to still getting his moment, being in Guerrero's role. Benoit wins the Rumble, challenges Lesnar at NWO instead and goes on to defend against Angle at Mania. Everyone's happy, except Guerrero.

2. Triple H VS Batista VS Randy Orton - Wrestlemania 21

Look, I'm not saying this was even possible but what if? What if the possible Wrestlemania XXX match actually happened 9 years earlier? The all Evolution Triple Threat would've been awesome! This is how it would go down. Batista and Triple H are doing the contract signing and Orton weasels his way into the match by beating both Triple H and Batista in singles competition. The end result would've been the same with Batista taking his spot as the next top guy on Raw but what if he went through both Orton and HHH of Evolution instead of just Triple H? It would have made an interesting story. Undertaker at WM21? Good question...

3. Triple H VS John Cena and HBK VS Booker T - Wrestlemania 23

Triple H has a career threatening injury at New Year's Revolution 2007, which forced him to miss WM23 and motivate his friend Shawn Michaels to the main event to win the championship for his friend. What if Triple H didn't get injured? A rematch from the previous year's main event was in the process and would have spelled redemption for Triple H, which would've stopped Cena's soon to be historic reign. HBK would have represented Donald Trump to face Booker T who was representing Vince in the Battle of the Billionaires, which was allegedly in the process of happening anyway and should have. A match between the two would have been special. In the end though, Triple H's injury forced WWE's hand and we got a spectacular main event anyway.

This list is Triple H heavy huh?

4. Edge VS Randy Orton - Wrestlemania 23

Edge and Orton were split up at this point and were trying to cost each other their spots in the Money in the Bank Ladder match at Wrestlemania 23. What if both guys lost their spots and instead, faced each other? It would have really helped the lacking Wrestlemania 23 that didn't have any real good matches outside the MITB and two World Title matches. Orton/Edge would have added more legitimacy to the Show of Shows and easily could've been the match of the night with enough time. Neither man won the MITB match so a singles match between the show should have definitely happened.

5. John Cena VS Edge and change to Orton/HHH - Wrestlemania 25

John Cena's best rival is not Randy Orton, as much as WWE would like that to be true. His greatest rival is the person who ended his first reign as WWE Champion, Edge. The World Title match was centered on the love triangle between Vickie Guerrero, Big Show and Edge, while Cena was the one on the outside looking in. Why not just focus on Cena/Edge as Edge was the one to end Cena's title reign in the first place? There was no reason to feature Big Show in the feud and Edge/Cena could've easily main evented the show. The two have been in a series of great matches that included a fantastic TLC. It's a crime that the two didn't get a chance to face each other on the grand stage of Wrestlemania.

Also, what if they made HHH/Orton a No Holds Barred match? It definitely would have been a much better show ender than it ended up being.

6. The Undertaker VS Wade Barrett - Wrestlemania 27

In all purposes, this should have happened. The Nexus helped Kane win a Buried Alive match against The Undertaker at Bragging Rights 2010 but when Taker came back around, they just completely forgot about all that and pushed Taker into a match with Triple H. WHAT ABOUT BARRETT? This was the beginning of the end for him. This led to a pointless match at Mania for Barrett while Taker and HHH had a fantastic fight which saved the show in many people's eyes. Why were WWE so reluctant on doing Barrett/Taker? I understand all the big matches had youth in them and this would have gone along with that trend. I'm not saying Barrett would have beat Taker or that it even would have been a great match but it was the match Barrett deserved to be apart of because WWE SET THE MATCH UP MONTHS PRIOR TO WRESTLEMANIA. As a fan, one of the biggest omissions at a PG Wrestlemania.

7. John Cena VS The Rock VS The Miz - Wrestlemania 28

Travel with me to a world where Miz remained relevant after his WWE Title loss to Cena at Extreme Rules, where CM Punk didn't win the title at Survivor Series, where Cena somehow won the title during this period. What if, and I again say WHAT IF, Miz won the Royal Rumble that Sheamus won and intended to spoil the year long match up of Rock/Cena that the world was preparing for? Yes, horrible booking decisions all around but like I said, what if? Rock attackted Miz after Wrestlemania 27 and there was no real revenge from The Miz after that. Miz spoiling the biggest Wrestlemania match of all time would have gotten him major heel heat. The match could've had the same result and led to the first meeting between Rock and Cena at WM 29. Cheap promotional tactics from WWE yes, but WHAT IF?

8. John Cena VS The Undertaker - ANY WRESTLEMANIA but specifically Wrestlemania 30

I've said it once and I'll continue to say it for a lifetime. WWE fans from the 90s will always wonder why Hogan never fought Flair at Wrestlemania VIII. Attitude Era fans will always wonder why Stone Cold didn't get the nod to face Hogan at Wrestlemania X8. I will always wonder why WWE never considered putting their biggest face versus the undefeated streak. The first time it could have happened was Wrestlemania 23, when Taker won the Royal Rumble and had his choice of facing any champion he wanted. Now, Cena wasn't the top name just yet but he was in the midst of what would be his longest reign as WWE Champion. After that, there was never really any other time that it could happen. Cena was busy with World Title matches each Mania and Taker was dealing with defending his streak against top stars such as Batista, Edge, HBK and Triple H. The next opportunity came at the event most likely to play host to such a super match, Wrestlemania XXX. The 30th iteration of WWE's biggest event needed a mega match up to headline the show and to be honest, while a good event and amazing show ender, it didn't have that WM30 quality match on the card, on paper that is because once again, the show was great. Both Cena and Taker didn't have any opponents for the show and Wyatt's clash with Cena could have easily waited. This was the first year it seemed that we could finally see the dream match. Well, it went a different direction and we got Cena/Wyatt and Lesnar ending the Streak.

What if John Cena took on the Streak of The Undertaker on the Grandest Stage of them All? Lesnar could have faced Rock and both matches would have been worthy of the WM30 show. How would have Cena and Taker went down? Well, Cena definitely would have given Taker the match of his Wrestlemania life, mainly due to his status as the guy in WWE. I think if they went along with it we would've seen a very different spin to the Wyatt/Taker match this year. Regardless of how you feel about Cena, this is the match that should have taken place at a Wrestlemania. With another year of the two against the future of the company, it looks like this match will never happen.

Here are just some of my opinions. What are some of the biggest WM omissions to you? Let me know! More WM related posts to come!

Pros/Cons of Reigns/Lesnar

Despite fan disapproval, WWE has kept to their original plans and will have Roman Reigns main event his first Wrestlemania ever against Brock Lesnar, who is returning to the main event for the first time in 12 years. Will this be the passing of the torch match WWE wants it to be or will this crash and burn in WWE's face?

Pros

1. It's WWE's main event

I may be in the miniority but I'm so glad WWE kept to what they originally had planned. I'm a huge fan of Daniel Bryan but with how they set the chain of events in motion, he doesn't have a place in this title match. It was definitely a ballsy move and I fully support that they did it.

2. Roman Empire

This is THE match for Reigns. This is the match that's been in the works since his breakout at Survivor Series 2013, where he eliminated all but one person on the opposing team. This is the match where Reigns becomes a superstar, where all eyes will be on him. It will be where everyone will see Reigns defeat Brock Lesnar and bring back the captured WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Reigns will looks like the ultimate hero and take his place as the next big star of WWE. It's something WWE needs to establish. Their golden boy Cena is getting older and won't be around forever, though it may seem that way now. Reigns may not be the guy everyone wants to see succeed but every era has to have a big star and this era is going to get Reigns. Believe that.

3. Rollins lurking

In the back of everyone's mind is this question; when will Seth Rollins cash in his Money in the Bank contract? He's had it since June and is quickly approaching the top of the list of holding the briefcase the longest before cashing in. While it's definitely not guaranteed he'll become champion, the chances of Rollins successfully cashing in MITB is high, simply because he's been pushed as a top heel since the summer. A cash in attempt has NEVER happened at Wrestlemania and MITB turns 10 years old THIS year. Will Rollins be the one to finally cash in the grandest stage of them all? Time will tell. If he does, I'm sure it will be to the delight of the entire crowd.

4. Unique match-up

This will be the 2nd year in a row where one of the superstars is making their Wrestlemania main event debut. Last year it was Bryan and this year, it's Reigns. First time WM main eventers have a good record in winning. Not counting the first event, 13 times has someone main eventing the PPV for the first time, gone on to win the match. These names include Randy Savage, Ultimate Warrior, Yokozuna, (he won the scheduled main event, I guess) Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker, Stone Cold, Triple H, Brock Lesnar, Chris Benoit, Batista, John Cena, The Miz and Daniel Bryan. Hell, even Lawrence Taylor won in the main event of 11 but I'm not counting that. All won in their first main event at WM. Losing first timers, excluding the first event and one half of 11's main event, are King Kong Bundy, Andre the Giant, Ted DiBiase, Sgt. Slaughter, Sid Justice, Bret Hart, Bam Bam Bigelow, The Rock, Big Show, Mick Foley, Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle, Edge, and Randy Orton. So, it's a dead even 13-13.

Both guys are considered powerhouses. Lesnar will definitely suplex Reigns plenty of times while Reigns will get off his five moves of doom. I'm looking forward to the quality of match the two put on because Lesnar hasn't had many bad matches since returning and the different styles will definitely make for a quality Mania match.

Cons

1. The Fans

WWE's ballsy display of putting Reigns in the main event has certainly angered a lot of the Internet Wrestling Community, mainly because their golden boy Daniel Bryan was rejected from getting into back to back main events, like they thought he should have. This led to the fans of Philadelphia to crucify Reigns at the Rumble and this is even after being endorsed by his cousin, the ultra popular Rock. They still booed him. WWE wouldn't back down and though they gave the IWC a glimmer of hope when Reigns fought Bryan at Fast Lane, it was quickly dashed when Reigns actually defeated Bryan to further solidify his status as the #1 contender. I've said all this to come to this point; they are going to crucify Reigns again but on a much larger scale. Wrestlemania is filled with hyper critical WWE fans that will boo if things don't go the way they want. This main event could get severely booed. I don't know if they'll even cheer Lesnar since he's on his way out. This is a bad situation for WWE as the fans will definitely try to hijack the main event. It's going to be a beautiful train wreck.

2. Rollins Factor

Rollins cashing in could be a bad thing for Reigns. Imagine, being pushed to the moon and defeating the Conqueror Brock Lesnar. Reigns is on top of the world, only to have his world come crashing down to a surprise cash in. Either way the cash in goes down, it will hurt either guy involved. It would hurt everything WWE has put into Reigns or Rollins, who are both being pushed as the top face and heel of the future respectively. A successful Rollins cash in is inevitable and is definitely coming as June is approaching quickly but leave it until Money in the Bank could you WWE?

3. Waste of Undertaker's Streak/Lesnar beating Reigns

Bottom line ladies and gentlemen. Brock Lesnar ended The Undertaker's undefeated streak at Wrestlemania last year. The person who finally defeats Brock Lesnar is going to look like a star and a hero. THAT'S the driving force of this match up. What if, like some rumors are saying, Brock Lesnar happens to resign with WWE and defeats Roman Reigns and continues to hold onto the WWE Title and defend it on a part time basis? That means it would be another year that WWE has lessen the spectacle of the Royal Rumble and have caved to what the fans what. When was this when Cena has coming up? If WWE listened to the fans in Wrestlemania past, Cena definitely would not have beat HHH and HBK at 22 and 23. When did this era of fans dictate what a million dollar organization does? Point is this, they could always just use the next rising star to beat Lesnar or just wait until Reigns is 'ready' for the title but how long before that happens? Wrestlemania 32? That would be a year and a half of part time WWE title defenses, diminishing the value of a title that's value is already low in many fans eyes. While WWE would reportedly raise the values of the US and IC Titles, it's not worth it if the main title loses its importance.

Why have Taker lose to Lesnar if they weren't willing to have Lesnar lose to the next star at the next year's Mania? It would make Lesnar's win in vain, which they could've used for the focal point of Wyatt/Taker. Reigns not being ready for the Mania main event is irrelevant at this point because they're out of options with only a week to go to Mania. This was the plan, now WWE has to STICK TO IT. It's WWE's company, not ours. Romans Reigns MUST defeat Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 31. Lesnar staying with the company is not important to me because he will leave eventually. They must prepare for the future. Reigns is the step the future and NXT needs. Reigns will be the first NXT alumni to win the WWE Title and that will speak volumes for all the guys to come in the future.

To end this post, WWE has put themselves in this corner. Lesnar signing isn't important. Prepare for the future WWE. Reigns being champion is best as he'll have a slew of new challengers gunning for his crown, including other top prospects Seth Rollins and Bray Wyatt. WWE Internet fans may hate it but for a brighter future, Reigns needs to win.

Next up, Cena/Rusev! Stay tuned!

Pros/Cons of Wyatt/Taker

During Wrestlemania 29 season, I did a pro/con list for all of the big time matches at the show. I'm going to do the same this year! First up, it's the match I'm most invested to. The match pitting my favorite superstar up against his biggest opponent yet.

Pros

1. Perfect example of old vs new/Passing of the torch

Bray Wyatt VS The Undertaker represents a match that spans two different generations, featuring two unique superstars with similar supernatural gimmicks. A match between the two was inevitable as long as Taker kept competing at Wrestlemania. This is the perfect match to hand the torch to the next generation and let them carry it until someone else comes along to take it. It's how the business works and this match should be no different.

2. Wyatt's biggest match/Breakout

Bray Wyatt has been on thss character for a year and some change and in that time, he's faced Kane, CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, John Cena, Chris Jericho, Dean Ambrose, etc. For Wyatt, this is the ultimate honor, to be put up against the greatest performer in WM history. It continues his trend of facing big superstars at big events. It will be interesting to see how Wyatt reacts in his biggest match. Wyatt is on the verge of a major breakout here. With Reigns poised to win his first World Title on the same night, Wyatt going over Undertaker and giving him his 2nd loss would be akin to winning his own World Title. The last guy to do it is in the main event this year. Just saying....

3. Potential

There's a great unknown feeling in the air about this match, mainly about the quality and finish of it. We all know Taker's last match wasn't exactly up to his usual WM style and that he finally lost last year. How will Taker bounce back from such a crushing first loss at Mania? Also, how does it go down? Does Wyatt go over Taker, giving him his 2nd straight loss, proving he is the new face of fear and send Taker into full retirement? Does Taker get that last win in his cap before calling it quits? It could go either way. The intrigue of it all makes it worth the price of admission.

Cons

1. No Stipulation

Taker's Wrestlemania matches were usually all about one thing; his unbeaten Streak. Well, that's gone. No more. Finished. What's the point of facing him then? Ok, well why not have Taker put his career on the line then, give Wyatt some major heel points for being the one to end his career. Nope, as of now, that's not an option. So it's just a match between the two, mainly because they had nothing else for Wyatt in the current stars. Not necessarily a bad thing but this is Wrestlemania! There should have been some kind of stipulation on such a big match.

2. Less chance of Cena/Taker

Say what you want, there are two big time dream matches that haven't gotten a proper chance to take place. A full Cena/Mysterio feud and Superman Cena VS The Undertaker. Taker and Cena had run ins when Cena was heel back in 2003 and a Raw match awhile ago, but nothing on PPV since Cena took his ascension to the top of WWE. When the stars aligned last year, they didn't pull the trigger and now another year pasts without the mega match on the card. It's a match that sells itself. This two are the biggest names in the company and haven't interacted with one another in years. Put a title on the line here and you have a serious main event match. With no Streak and Taker hitting 50 this year, this looks like a match that will only be possible in our heads and our video games.

3. Long Term Effects

To many, this is such a a great match up but on the wrong year. The Undertaker is coming off of his 1st loss in 22 Wrestlemania appearances while Wyatt is a future rising star who has been looking strong since his feud with Ambrose ended. There is just no way to please all in this match up between the two. If you give Wyatt the win, which he should get anyway, you could hurt Taker in the eyes of the viewers since it would be his 2nd straight loss at Wrestlemania. Let's just completely look past his Hall of Fame career but some say it would hurt the status of the soon to be Hall of Famer. I really don't see it that way but I know some do. If you give Undertaker the win, Wyatt loses his 2nd straight match at Mania and looks very weak in the process. He just loss to a guy who was utterly dominated the year before. It would crush the up and comer and as one of the young heels that will run the company in the long run and potentially will be a major player to the Roman empire, you don't want to keep knocking him down. Like I said, either way, someone is going to look down on the finish of the match but, hey, that's pro wrestling.

4. Quality of match

It's no secret that The Undertaker looked very human in his last Wrestlemania match. Some will say it was because of the concussion he suffered early in the match, others will says age is finally catching up to Taker. Either way, the quality of the match is in question. Wyatt is a great, hard hitting competitor and his matches with Ambrose were all great affairs. I'm nervous that his style may be too strong for a 50 year old Undertaker who is only wrestling once a year. I definitely could be wrong and it could end up being the best match of the night, but due to other circumstances, I'm just nervous as how it's going to play out.

My pros/cons for the mega match up between these two supernatural stars. Will Bray Wyatt get the biggest win of his life and defeat The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 31 or will WWE further knock down the heel? We'll find out!
