So, Night of Champions is the next WWE PPV. This starts the road to the lesser Big 4 PPV, Survivor Series! WWE has three PPVs coming up to set up this big event. Let's talk about the rumored card for the show.
The Usos facing The Wyatt Family makes sense. This may be a pre card match though. Either way, it's interesting. You have two up and coming tag teams facing off. The feud probably won't be the best but it's a match that makes sense at the end of the day. It's all about pushing The Wyatt Family who I assume will eventually become WWE Tag Team Champions after they defeat Henry & Show. That's a very good way to get exposure for the new group.
Total Divas is a surprise hit for WWE. The series had its only dip in ratings this past week but that's only because it was going up against Bryan/Cena and SummerSlam! Anyway, so it's only right that a face Diva from the show gets to face AJ. My guess would be Natalya since she is the biggest face Diva on the show. And AJ VS Natalya could be something pretty special. This could be the start to the revival of the Divas division.
The Shield's Reigns and Rollings have stopped every team in their way. The next team may be when that stops. Big Show and Mark Henry have confirmed that they are indeed forming a team to knock of The Shield and a team THAT BIG will definitely become tag champions so why not start here? Have Show and Henry win the belts and drop them to The Wyatt Family sometime in the winter months. It's a good way for everyone to get exposure, especially The Wyatt Family.
The next two matches are going to be controversial only because these two guys were both holding World Championships this year.
Ziggler facing Ambrose and Punk facing Axel with the respective belts on the line. Punk has been facing the top stars in the company this year in Cena, Rock, Undertaker, and Lesnar (all losses might I add) so why is he facing Axel? And what about Ziggler? He just came off the biggest win of his career in April, turned face and now he's starting from the bottom? What is WWE thinking?
Fortunately, I only see the GOOD in all of this. It's all about pushing the young talent. Axel, who isn't really getting over as well despite being a Paul Heyman Guy, will thrive off of feuding with Punk. Axel hasn't really had a feud since Miz and that was in July! It's time to make the mid card titles relevant again and if you have a rising star in Axel defend against an established guy like Punk, then it can work. This reminds me when Orton, who just came off of losing the World Title to Henry, started to feud with Cody Rhodes. Just because they're away from the title picture now doesn't mean they will stay away. Yes, that example I gave was the start of a long journey back to the top of WWE for Orton but at least he came back. I'm just saying Punk and Axel isn't a bad thing if WWE's ultimate goal in the whole thing is to get Axel over because in the long run, they need these young guys to succeed.
Ambrose/Ziggler is the same. Ziggler is becoming a big face in the company and with Cena and Sheamus gone and Triple H and Orton heels now, well that leaves a big gap in the face department. If Ambrose can prove himself against Ziggler, a guy who was World Champion just two months ago, then Ambrose will get the needed exposure. It's not hard. I'm glad they have these two former World Champions battling for titles they already won because they can't always be in the World Title picture. Orton/Bryan is good and different for the WWE Title and so is Del Rio/RVD for the World. Ziggler and Punk will be back eventually, but the super fans of each need to wait until that time comes around.
RVD finally gets a World Title show. I don't care about Del Rio so give the belt to RVD. He needs it. RVD didn't come back to be on the pre show card and certainly didn't come back to job to Del Rio. It would be in Smackdown's best interest to have RVD as champion. RVD/Christian in a Ladder Match at TLC? Come on son! MAKE IT HAPPEN. Del Rio needs to be repackaged. I'm just so amazingly bored with him.
The only confirmed match for the NOC card is Orton/Bryan. That was obvious as soon as Orton cashed in. This storyline is fantastic for WWE. It's a breath of fresh air and could be potentially game changing. How many times have I typed that on this blog? Anyway, this could lead to a lot of new things. Let's go into it.
Well first off, it can create a new faction. New Evolution or Triple H's Corporation or maybe a mashup title like The Evoration? Maybe Corultion? No? Anyway, it could be the next big faction in WWE, which hasn't really happened in awhile. You got power players like Vince, Orton, and HHH and young guys like The Shield. It gives the young ones to learn from the veterans.
2, it could lead to an AMAZINGLY BOOKED Survivor Series 5-on-5 match, well, if Cena is healthy. Have Orton, HHH, and The Shield VS Bryan, Cena, Henry, Show, and Ziggler. COME THE HECK ON SON!!! That is a quality match! Only problem is if Cena is ready to go. I know it's not going to happen. There hasn't been a main event Survivor Series style match in a while but you gotta admit, that's one hell of a match up right? Only in my dreams though.
3, it will make Daniel Bryan a freaking star. Let's be honest; on the path Daniel Bryan is on now, he could very well be walking into Wrestlemania XXX as WWE Champion. Yes I said it! Or the very least be in the match for the title. John Cena and Sheamus are out, most likely for the rest of the year. Punk can't be the star alone. Bryan may actually be getting hotter than Punk right now. I don't know. Regardless, coming out of feuding with Orton, HHH, and The McMahons, I'm sure Bryan will be a main eventer for years to come.
This is how I would like to see the feud go. I want to see Bryan lose in a shady fashion to Orton and somehow someway see Bryan/HHH in Hell In a Cell in October. They haven't had a meaningful HIAC since Taker/HHH and that was really just thrown together. Remember when heated rivalries were settled in HIAC? It was like the feud ender! Come to think of it, I think WWE should do away with the HIAC PPV. It's just corny. They never have the right feud in place to have a HIAC. Ryback/Punk last year is a good example. The PPV is called HIAC but you only have one match INSIDE the Cell? Really? I digress.
I don't think it will happen, but it just makes sense if it does. I can't see WWE just doing Bryan/Orton every at NOC, Battleground, AND HIAC. That's just overkill. Maybe at NOC and Battleground, but let Orton face someone else like Ziggler at HIAC and let Bryan and HHH settle their beef inside the Cell. I know HHH HATES putting anyone over, hell, he didn't do it for Punk, but maybe this time will be different. Maybe....
Anyway you look at it, the next couple of months should be good for WWE. With Orton finally turning heel and winning the title, Bryan becoming a mega star, Cena sitting out the rest of 2013, and the unpredictability that is WWE, I see this as a strong fall for the WWE. The World Title picture better step it up! Though I am looking forward to seeing if they'll put the strap on RVD. He deserves it and, like I said, Christian/RVD at TLC. COME ON!
Stay Classy Internet!

Bryan did it! Oh, dang....
What a SummerSlam! The main events certainly delivered didn't they? That Del Rio/Christian match had me on the edge of my seat. Every kick Del Rio hit was frightening and the ending sequence was fantastic. I'm indifferent on the ending because I don't know who Del Rio faces next. After Rhodes' impressive victory, maybe a Rhodes/Del Rio is in the future. I would love to see it! Anyway, the main event with the least amount of buzz was impressive and set the bar for the rest of the night.
Lesnar/Punk was amazing. Punk really went all out against the Beast but in the end, it was Lesnar with the brutal F5 on the chair for the win. Such a fantastic battle between these two. Now this a rematch I can get onboard with. They have such a chemistry that Lesnar hasn't had with anyone since his return. Maybe at Survivor Series but wow what a fight and kudos to Punk for sticking with the big monster.
The main event of the show delivered. It was a fantastic WRESTLING match. Bryan would not be denied though and after a vicious and I mean VICIOUS knee, Daniel Bryan defied the odds and pinned Super Cena 1-2-3!
I would have preferred a tap-out but a win is a freaking win! The crowd is loving it, I'm loving it but of course, it didn't end well for the new champion. We all knew Orton was going to play a big part in this match and we knew HHH was probably going to have a part in it but to see it play out was insane. Once HHH hit that Pedigree, I was shocked. An Evolution reunion? Really? I'm not mad because that was different! The crowd was absolutely solely behind Daniel Bryan and for the kid to work so hard only to have the title snatched away from him only makes him look better in the long run. I hope this leads to multiple matches between Orton and Bryan and maybe even a title match between HHH and Bryan down the line. This is a good storyline and I can't wait to see where this leads. And I can't wait to see how Cena fits into all this. Maybe an Orton/Bryan/Cena Triple Threat somewhere? Who knows?
WWE has done it again. Another successful SummerSlam due to the youth. I haven't been this excited after a PPV in two years. I'm so looking forward to Raw tonight!
Lesnar/Punk was amazing. Punk really went all out against the Beast but in the end, it was Lesnar with the brutal F5 on the chair for the win. Such a fantastic battle between these two. SummerSlam 2013 Predictions!
It's that time of the year again! It's the Wrestlemania of the summer, SummerSlam! A lot of big matches on the card, including two that could potentially be Match of the Year candidates. Let's get right into it!
The opening match will either be the World Title match or the Ring of Fire match. Either one can kick the show off nicely. I'll go with the Ring of Fire match, seeing how it's probably going to be the hardest match to set-up.
Wyatt's debut match is certainly a big one huh? The first fire around the ring match in the PG Era! And he's debuting on a big PPV! They have faith in this guy! This should be a hard hitting contest. Wyatt seems like he has a real stiff style. I'm hoping for a good first performance for Mr. Wyatt and with everyone basically writing off Kane thanks to WWE green lighting See No Evil 2 (WHAT!?!?) it looks like Bray Wyatt will be successful in his debut match.
Ziggler is unfortunately in a throwaway match on this card. It's ashame, seeing how he was World Champion just TWO MONTHS ago. It's like they restarted his push! I'm hoping after this victory (yes I'm picking them to win) Ziggler will go back into the World Title picture. Ziggler/Christian would be a nice fall feud for the belt don't you think? Ziggler and Kaitlyn win.
Throwaway Total Divas match. Bella wins but who really cares? Why is THIS on the main card while a potentially amazing match between Dean Ambrose and RVD is on the pre card? I guess they really want people to tune in to the pre show...
Ah, I'm really looking forward to Rhodes/Sandow. Both of these guys have bright futures and this will showcase their talent on the grand stage. This remind me a lot of Bryan/Barrett from SS 2011 and that turned out to be a fantastic match, probably the best match of Barrett's career. Anyway, I'm expecting big things from the 10 minutes these guys will probably get. Rhodes has been getting the upper hand more over Sandow, so I gotta go with Sandow for the victory. This match could be a sign of things to come with Sandow holding the MITB briefcase. This match could even be for the World Title, if Christian/Del Rio start the show. I know, big dreams, but it's SummerSlam! Speaking of Christian/Del Rio...
The most random SummerSlam World Title match in years! I would have NEVER EVER guessed that Christian would be the one getting the shot against Del Rio. I would have much preferred a Fatal Four Way with RVD/Orton/Christian/Del Rio but this should be a good match. Del Rio seems like he has cut ties with his former announcer Ricardo Rodriquez. Will that play a hand in the match? It just might...I think Christian will win the title after that nice video package they showed on Raw. Will he walk out of SummerSlam as champion? Who knows? I still hold on to the theory of Rhodes/Sandow being for the World Title. It's the bigger feud right now! Just saying...
Lesnar/Punk is going to be INSANE! I wasn't sure how the build was going to be, but it's been a fantastic road to SummerSlam. Both these guys need a win, like with every Lesnar match it seems. CM Punk needs to prove he's the Best by beating the Beast. Why? This is his first BIG match back from his break. He's facing a legitimate threat in Lesnar. All of Lesnar's matches since his return have been absolutely brutal. While it's not a No Hold Barred match or a match with a hardcore stipulation, it's still going to be a hard hitting affair. Lesnar only wrestles a couple times of year so when he loses, he loses his value. He's 1-1 this year but he's coming off a big win against HHH, so maybe a loss here won't be too bad for him. I'm pretty torn on a victor here, but I'm going to have to go with my boy The Best in The World CM Punk. This is the first step into getting back into the main event picture and into his way into the WWE Title picture at WM 30.
The main event is one that has been the rumored match for the whole summer. Actually, it was rumored to be a big feud LAST YEAR. Before I get into this, I just want to say how happy I am that WWE kept the Bella Twins OUT of the feud. It would haven lessen the importance of the match. Another thing I like is that the focus is solely on the WWE Championship. There are two monkey wrenches in this match. One, being the Raw MITB winner Randy Orton. Orton has not been shy about cashing in his opportunity unlike others. It looks like Orton won't be waiting too long, which means a cash-in is looking very likely. The other monkey wrench was just put in place this past Monday and that is Triple H is now the special guest referee. Remember the last time HHH refereed a Cena match? It didn't end well for Cena. With the whole power struggle between McMahon and HHH, I could see a wonky finish to this match. I have a lot of different scenarios for this match. The most obvious is that Bryan beats Cena, only to have Orton cash in and turn heel in the process. Maybe Bryan has Cena beat and then HHH screws Bryan in the end. Maybe Cena or Bryan turn heel? Maybe Orton and McMahon are working in cahoots? It's really up in the air. Here's my decision!
Daniel Bryan will defeat John Cena by submission and win his 1st WWE Championship!
THERE! I TYPED IT! Will Bryan be champion for long? I'm not sure. I think it's TOO obvious but we all know sometimes WWE does do the obvious.
Will this be as good as SummerSlam in 2011? That remains to be seen, but Cena/Bryan and Lesnar/Punk should be great additions to the already storied history to SummerSlam. Stay classy Internet and enjoy SummerSlam 2013!
