RematchMania!

So, The Royal Rumble has come and gone and with it the end of CM Punk's reign. I won't go too much into because I feel it's a bad decision, but at least the children will be happy when John Cena wins his 11th WWE Championship from The Rock at Wrestlemania 29. So predictable WWE. It was a huge surprise seeing Chris Jericho again so soon. I hope he has a nice Wrestlemania match and hopefully another good match with Ziggler at Elimination Chamber.

So, can we get a Cena/Sheamus/Ryback VS Shield main event at Elimination Chamber? Those guys got laid the hell out on Raw this past week. In one of the old WWE games, they let you do a 6 Man Tag Elimination inside the Chamber so why not do that for the PPV, seeing how Cena already has his WM plans set. It would be a nice match-up but predictable since Cena has to win here so he looks strong going into Mania. It should still happen though.

So, Lesnar returns a day late and attacks Vince. Well, Triple H/Lesnar II is all but confirmed. This is going to be the Wrestlemania of rematches I guess. Four of the big stars are already taken so that just leaves Orton, Sheamus, Punk, and Taker to do something at the event. A Punk/Taker match to be is pointless now. Punk has nothing to fight for, just respect but it's not enough for me to buy into him defeating Undertaker. If Sheamus/Orton wrestle, that's a rematch as well! Why isn't WWE reaching out to guys who don't wrestle that often (HBK and Austin) to have matches at the big event? Are they waiting for 30? I just think people would pay big money to see Austin and HBK in a WWE ring again. Not to mention it would help push some of the younger guys. A Ziggler/HBK match would show that he's really arrived in WWE while a Punk/Austin match would be another clash of two superstars from different eras. Maybe they just don't want to wrestle again being in their old age and all. Oh well.

So far, I've never been this disappointed heading into the February PPV. Even when Cena won in 2008, I still had hope for a Taker/Edge main event and it happened. This year, I have nothing really to look forward to. Yes, Rock/Cena II should be another good match, but it's already happened! It was once in a lifetime right? Well, let it stay like that then! I would much rather see a Triple Threat with Punk included than another single match between the two.

WWE has to start taking some chances on their biggest event of the year. Guys like Ziggler, Miz, Barrett, and Cesaro SHOULD be featured in main matches, but WWE just seems so scared to try anything different than Cena, Orton, or a past name. If this continues, there will be no next big time star because WWE won't survive. After Wrestlemania 30, I think it's time to fully give over to the next generation. It's time Cena takes a backseat while Miz/Ziggler is the next big feud or Barrett/Sheamus. I'm just sick of the same old WWE is all.

Oh, the rumored Jericho/Ryback match would be great for Ryback's career and Jericho will probably job to him because it's the right thing to do! Push the youth! Take chances!

Wrestlemania XXIX is looking to be good revenue wise, but not creative wise. Rematches from two of the big events last year is not fair to any fan of WWE. We want fresh entertainment. Hell, I'd take a Cena/Lesnar/Rock/HHH match just because that would be different.

Maybe I'm overreacting but I'm just tired of this crap. There are plenty of talented guys that could work with this talent. They could do four different matches with those four names and it would help WWE immensely. Do Lesnar/Sheamus, HHH/Cesaro, Cena/Ryback, and Rock/Ziggler. THAT'S different. It may not sell that high in the end, but I would be interested in every match, but at the end of the day, it's all about the draw and Rock/Cena II and Lesnar/HHH II will draw high numbers on the same card. Add Punk/Taker and Orton/Sheamus and this Mania will sell big, but it won't convince me that WWE has taken that next step in trusting the youth and in the end, that's what I care most about. We'll see what guys like Ziggler, Del Rio, Cesaro, Barrett, Miz and The Shield do come Wrestlemania time. Will they take a backseat to the Legends or be featured in some interesting matches? Time will tell I guess.

Overall, I'm disappointed in the rematches but I can't blame WWE for doing them. It's all about money and they will definitely make money with those two matches alone. It's a shame that three of those four guys will slip into the background on April 8th while the young guns who weren't featured on the WM card will step up for the next 11 months only to be screwed again at the next Mania. It's a vicious circle that won't be stopped until the legends die off. I'm sorry to be negative like that, but it's the truth.

RIP CM Punk's title reign. It was the best thing going and it really made the year and a half journey to my wedding that much better.

Royal Rumble 2013 predictions

Here we go ladies and gents. This PPV is the start of Wrestlemania season and it's going to be a crazy season for sure. So many different variables and they all start Sunday. Let's go down the list.

Team Rhode Scholars facing Team Hell No should be the first match. It's going to be a fantastic tag match. I mean it should be, these teams have been feuding for months and they know each other pretty well. Team Hell No have done their job in restoring the tag division and now it's time for them to split and go their seperate ways and that starts this Sunday. Team Rhode Scholars win the tag titles. I don't know what's next for them but I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Del Rio and Big Show will have an all out war at the Rumble. I'm not interested in the feud. I'm really not interested with any feud featuring Big Show. Del Rio will get the win but probably won't make it out the World Champion. It's a Last Man Standing match with Big Show! And he's got an anger problem! I think Del Rio wins, Big Show gets mad and Ziggler cashes in, due to the fact that he's either #1 or #2 in this year's Rumble. I've been predicting Ziggler's cash in for awhile but it makes much more sense now. Del Rio defeats Big Show but walking out as World Champion? I don't think so.

CM Punk and The Rock. The match in the making since July. This is going to be interesting. Will it be better than Cena/Rock? Probably with Punk's superior wrestling skill. How will this all end? Well, it SHOULD end with Punk retaining so he can set up his clash with The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 29. It's just the right main event for Punk to do. If he faces Taker WITHOUT with historic reign intact, the match, while good, won't convince anyone that Punk will win. With Shield banned from ringside, can Punk really retain against Rock? Yes! I think we'll see Lesnar come back and set up his match with The Rock at Wrestlemania. I'd rather see that than Cena/Rock right now to be honest. Bottom line, I'm predicting that CM Punk will once again retain his WWE Championship. Maybe with Lesnar, maybe without. Punk is walking out as champ.

Ah, the Royal Rumble. This year's Rumble is unfortunately predictable. With Rock and Cena on the same card and with a rumor of a rematch in the works, it's pretty obvious that Rock wins the WWE Title and Cena wins the Rumble, BUT, I will not be predicting that. Once again, this is another good year for WWE to use the Rumble as a way to propel one of their younger talents. Del Rio in 2011, Sheamus in 2012, it's a good thing to do. Who do I think deserves the win? Wade Barrett obviously. The man has been on the verge of a breakout since coming into WWE but they refuse to pull the trigger with him. Let him win the Rumble and start his eventual feud with the World Champion. Cesaro's another guy who could win, but he's a REAL dark horse choice. Randy Orton, while not a young superstar, could definitely use the victory with his imminent heel turn coming. Ziggler, if he doesn't cash in, could be the first MITB contract holder to have his contract and WIN the Rumble, but he just has to last the whole match.

This year's Rumble is very hard to predict. I'm hoping we see some returns but not just one night returns, I want guys who can stay with the company. Particually, Shelton Benjamin. I will be highly upset if I don't see him run down and join the fray at the Rumble. Anyway, my final prediction for a Rumble winner, for the 3rd year in a row, I'm going to pick Wade Barrett. My #2 is Randy Orton and #3 is Dolph Ziggler.

Yes yes, I know, SuperCena is going to win and head to Mania blah blah blah. I don't want to see it, but I think we'll know the winner of the Rumble and Punk/Rock by match order. If Punk/Rock main events AND Cena doesn't win the Rumble, then Punk will retain thanks to Cena and we'll get Rock/Cena 2 at Mania. If the Rumble main events and Rock wins, then Cena wins the Rumble. If it's vice versa, you got a dark horse/wild card winning.

Anyway, it should be very interesting to see what WWE has in store for us at the Rumble. What suprises await this Sunday? I can't wait to find out!

It's that time of the year

<p>Well Happy New Year everyone! Haven't posted the best of 2012 yet but it's coming. Eventually. Anyway, it's Wrestlemania season which means speculation is rampant about all the top names in WWE and what exactly they're going to be doing at the biggest event of the year. First I'm going to talk about what I read from the dirt sheets.</p>
<p>Rock/Cena Punk/Taker HHH/Lesnar and Orton/Sheamus. I'm fine with Rock/Cena though it ruins the whole once in a lifetime thing and I'll take Orton/Sheamus for the strap even though Del Rio just won it. I absolutely don't want to see Lesnar/HHH again. Just drop idea. Punk/Taker is my must see match this year but only if he's WWE Champion. I can see how he can make it work if he isn't but it won't be believable that he can end the streak if he loses his title to a part timer. I really think if Punk does lose the title then they should do a triple threat with Punk Rock and Cena and let Taker face Lesnar.</p>
<p>My dream wrestlemania card is roughly the same as the one above. Punk/Taker is for the title and closes the show. Punk deserves the last match at Mania after the year he has had. Rock/Cena can have their inevitable rematch. I'd put Lesnar with Sheamus in a World Title match. I think that would be a very interesting clash between two hard hitting individuals. I'd leave Triple H off the card and book the match everyone wants to see but don't know it yet, Dolph Ziggler versus HBK. Raw's 20th Anniversary is here Monday, don't waste the opportunity WWE! Once again this is a dream card people! And you have to admit, Ziggler/HBK has show stealer written all over it.

Obviously I have to wait until the Rumble to flesh out my under card but it without a shadow of a doubt features a match between Big Show and Ryback, just because we all want to see Show get Shell Shocked.

Anyway who's my pick for the Rumble? Cena Orton or Lesnar are my safe picks. Cesaro and Barrett are my dark horses! Thanks for reading this random post!
