I'm excited for SummerSlam

Well, the main event(s) for the summer's biggest PPV are set and they are some big time clashes. First, in what should be the show ender, WWE Champion John Cena chose to face the absolute hottest and most over star today Daniel Bryan. If their match from 2012 is anything like their upcoming SummerSlam main event, this could be a potential match of the year. Man, I'm so freaking excited for this match. They've been talking about a Bryan/Cena match since June, actually, I remember the dirt sheets reporting that a Bryan/Cena feud was in the works for 2013 so I'm glad that the plans have come to fruition. The chances of Daniel Bryan winning the championship are VERY high in my opinion. The guy is SUPER OVER! The crowd is with him wherever they go. Would it be such a bad thing to give the title to the hottest guy right now? I don't think so. Plus, it could open up so many other feuds in the fall months. The only thing about Bryan winning is Mr. Money in the Bank Randy Orton. An Orton cash in is to always be expected and I'm like 98% sure he's going to win the belt. Orton cashing in against Bryan will make Orton a heel, which would in turn open up even more matches and could ultimately lead to an amazing Fatal Four Way PPV match extravaganza in Punk/Bryan/Cena/Orton. Hey, this is MY blog and I can fantasize if I want to! Bryan and Cena will definitely steal the show and unless Bryan and Punk face each other later this year in the Iron Man match they should have had last year, then I'm picking this match to be my match of the year. Yes, I called it before the match happened!

The other main event consist of Punk/Lesnar. Lesnar has had some pretty good matches since returning to WWE last year and Punk's resume speaks for itself so why not put the two together for a huge main event? I'm looking forward to the match mainly because it is something new. This is a never before seen match and it has the potential of being fantastic. One thing Lesnar hasn't had since coming back is a wrestling match. He's had fights with Cena and Triple H but not just a normal match that can showcase his true wrestling abilities if he still has those skills. While I'm more excited to see the WWE Title match, this is surely going to add to the excellence of this year's SummerSlam card.

So Christian is the #1 Contender for Del Rio's title. It seems like a throwaway match to me. Maybe it's just me but there is no money in Del Rio being champion. I think a Fatal Four Way between Christian/Orton/RVD/Del Rio would have been a solid match for the card. I'm not saying Del Rio/Christian won't be good, I just think there were other options. Hopefully, whoever wins the eventual Rhodes/Sandow match will cash in at SummerSlam because I can't stand Del Rio as champion. I'm pulling for Christian hard to win because of that and it's really ashame but it's WWE's fault for pushing him to the moon and then dropping him so quickly. I think a Christian/Sandow or Rhodes/Del Rio feud would be the breath of fresh air that the World Title picture needs.

Bryan/Cena, Del Rio/Christian, and Punk/Lesnar are three great additions to the big summer PPV. Add Rhodes/Sandow, Wyatt/Kane, and Ziggler/Big E and you have a nice little card. I don't see where mega stars such as Sheamus, Ryback, Orton, or RVD fit in at on this card. I hope WWE doesn't just throw them in some random match-ups at the last minute. Whatever happened to big builds for undercard matches? If AJ/Kaitlyn can do it, I'm sure they can do it with either mid card title holders. And speaking of them, are they even going to defend their titles on the card?

While SummerSlam has a good main event card, it seems like everyone else is going to be lost in the shuffle and that's unfortunate. I hope the World Title match changes to include Orton and RVD and that young guys like Fandango, Miz, Axel, and The Shield get on the MAIN PPV card but if not, I still have the main events to look forward too. And the undercard matches (if they happen) aren't too bad either. This misguided undercard SummerSlam could be something special. Maybe. As long the matches live up to the hype. (Bryan/Cena!!!)

Bank on Sandow and Orton!

Another fantastic monumental MITB has come and gone and there are a lot of big stories coming out of the event that will affect the coming months of WWE.

First off, how awesome was that World Title MITB match? Seriously, those guys went all out! As my friend said, it sucks that only ONE had to win but what a one it was. Damien Sandow shockingly grabbed the briefcase for himself after betraying his partner Rhodes, who was on an absolute roll before being pushed off the ladder. The crowd was solely behind Rhodes as well. Will this be the start of a Rhodes face turn? It's funny how I complained about WWE not having no young face chasing for World Titles and then they go and turn Ziggler and now Rhodes face. I'm excited to see where this ends up going. Hopefully we'll get a Rhodes/Sandow match at SummerSlam for the briefcase. I'm a fan of both these guys but I'm more behind Rhodes being World Champion right now just based on the dues he has paid. Either way you slice it, WWE proved once again that the future of WWE is bright with young stars. Congrats to Damien Sandow on a fantastic surprise victory.

Well you knew it was coming. I'm talking about two things here. AJ screwing Ziggler and a Super Cena sighting. I guess tonight will be the start of AJ snapping which will lead to Ziggler/Big E at SummerSlam. Interesting. Wondering what Del Rio is going to do?

Super Cena! Not much to say but the obvious; Cena wins!

The main event set up the obvious Punk/Lesnar match for SummerSlam but did it set up something between Axel and Bryan? But why? If after ending The Shield's streak and defeating Orton and Sheamus all Bryan gets is the IC Title then why even give him those victories? Ridiculous. Orton winning was a surprise but GOD he needed it. Orton hasn't been relevant in YEARS. He needed the MITB to revitalize his career. Now that I type this, it does make sense why Bryan didn't need to win. His crowd reaction alone will get him to the main event. Anyway, congrats to Orton. I hope this is the start of his eventual heel turn. And didn't I say I would like to see Orton/Cena again?

Well MITB is the books! Looking forward to SummerSlam in August. I still hope somehow, maybe by Beat the Clock Challenges, that Cena will defend against Bryan. I just think if that was the plan for the summer feud then do it. And when is the major summer storyline going to happen? Is The Wyatt Family that storyline? Time will tell.

Final thoughts, MITB was great and it was good to feel surprised again by WWE. Now I'm patiently waiting for either guy to cash in...Stay classy Internet

Money in the Bank 2013 predictions

This PPV has easily become one of my favorites of the year! It's time for the 4th annual MITB! 7 matches (8 including the pre-show match) including two that could very well show who the next WWE and World Champions are. Let's get right into.

It seems like it's MITB tradition to have the first match be for the blue briefcase and I don't see this year being any different. 7 young guns will be facing off for the chance to cash in against the World Champion in the next year. If you remember last year, I broke down each superstar's chances of winning and I will do it again this year!

Jack Swagger is the only former World Champion in this match, which makes him the enemy for me automatically. I've always found Swagger boring but I know he's a fantastic wrestler. He's just not someone that I'm a huge fan of. That being said, I still think he has a good chance of winning because I have a theory of WWE still trying to do the triple threat that was suppose to happen at Extreme Rules at SummerSlam. You know, Ziggler/Swagger/Del Rio in a ladder match. The only way for that to happen is for Swagger to win and cash in before SummerSlam. I'm not the biggest fan of the decision but if we get a triple threat ladder match between the three at SummerSlam then maybe it's for the best. Regardless, Swagger has a good chance to walk out with his 2nd MITB briefcase.

Cody Rhodes was my favorite to win last year as he was on a verge of a mega breakout. A year later, he hasn't moved any closer to being a World Champion. It's disgusting to me how far he has fallen but this is what this match is made for. One win and Rhodes can start building himself back up. Win here, get into a nice feud with Sheamus or another top face, and then cash in by the end of the year. Rhodes chances at winning are pretty slim because of his fall but I'll be happy if he won.

Damien Sandow hasn't been close to the breakout that his tag team partner has. Sandow has been in the same spot as his tag team partner Rhodes, which is the spot of a jobber. He's so much better than that but I don't think he'll be walking out with the briefcase come Sunday though...

Fandango is back and he'll be dancing his way to Philadelphia! Fandango was a couple of days away from winning the IC Title back at Payback so will WWE be pushing him up due to that fact? Fandango is my dark horse winner obviously due to his popularity. It may be smart for WWE to cash in on his popularity now before he fizzles out like Brodus Clay and all their hard work they have done pushing him. His chances of winning are average. It's really hit or miss to be honest. He's another guy that if he won, I'd mark out for.

Antonio Cesaro is in the process of being repackaged as apart of Coulter's Militia and was my favorite to win at the end of 2012. Now, I think he still has a good shot but he's not a shoe-in like Ziggler was last year. I'm a huge fan of Cesaro's and I think he's one of the most talented individuals in WWE. Once again, I think his chances are pretty good as he's being repackaged so he's my #3 to win.

Wade Barrett. What more can I say about him? I've been a fan of his since he won NXT Season 1 and I've been waiting for Barrett to win a World Title since Bragging Rights 2010. Barrett is my #2 pick just because I think he has so much unused potential. Had he not been injured last February, I guarantee that he would have won the World Championship by now. Barrett has a good chance at walking out as the next World Champion and I hope that a Ziggler/Barrett feud is in the works for the fall.

Ah, Dean Ambrose. Who would have thunk it huh? He's only been in the WWE since November but he's been a main event player since his debut. Ambrose believe it or not is really a dark horse to win it. He's one of my favorite wrestlers in the company and my #1 pick, just simply because of the run he has been on. I mean, this guy had a one on one match with Undertaker on Smackdown! Are you kidding me? Ambrose wins MITB. Maybe...

I'm obviously really torn by this match. I'm really going to mark out if Ambrose, Barrett, Cesaro, or Rhodes wins. I'll react normally if Sandow wins and I'm be upset if Swagger wins. I'm picking Ambrose, Barrett, or Cesaro win but it's really up in the air. A very game changing MITB is in store.

Ryback VS Jericho is a random match to have as both should be in the MITB matches but it could be a potentially good match. Both guys need wins here. Ryback hasn't won on PPV in FOREVER while Jericho is coming in with a lost from Payback. In the end though, after a hard hitting 10 minute match, Ryback will finally get the W on PPV.

AJ and Kaitlyn should have another good Divas match. The bad blood between this two is spilling over and that should make for a vicious match. AJ will retain in the end though.

Axel and Miz could be good. Jericho has been the only guy to push Axel just yet but I have high hopes for the young man. I don't think Axel's title reign will end just yet so I'm going with Axel to win thanks to Heyman in 15.

Ziggler/Del Rio is going to be interesting. I have a feeling that we will see AJ and/or Big E cost Ziggler the match leading to Ziggler/Big E at SummerSlam. The only problem is, if that happens, who will Del Rio feud with next? Sheamus? Saw that last year, don't want to see it again. Christian? I'd be interested. RVD? Yes please! I don't like that Ziggler will be out of the World Title picture so quickly but I just don't see him winning back the belt so quickly. I gotta go with Del Rio retaining due to interference from AJ and/or Big E.

Cena and Henry won't be a pretty match-up at all but it has a pretty interesting storyline going into it. The way they're building it up make it seem like Henry is really going to retire soon after this match. They're showing his days back in the 90s and such. I'm looking forward to the match only for the ending. If this main events over the WWE Title MITB, the possibilities of a cash in are better. Who knows? Anyway, this is going to be domination Mark Henry, Cena comes back in the end, does the impossible by picking up Henry for the AA and overcoming the odds. I would love to see Henry win the WWE Title, if only for a MINUTE, but it probably won't be. John Cena retains again. IF this is the main event, which I highly doubt due to the amount of talent in the MITB, then I'm predicting a cash in attempt.

The All Stars MITB is the obvious main event but I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't due to a cash in attempt. Each guy in this match deserves a win and shot at the WWE Title again. I'm not going to break it down but I'll pick some of my favorites.

Randy Orton hasn't been WWE Champion since 2009. He hasn't held a World Title since 2011. That's a long time for a top superstar. A MITB victory would basically guarantee a championship for him which he so desperately needs and deserves. Plus, I would love to see Cena/Orton again 4 years later you know?

CM Punk was the longest reigning WWE Champion in 25 years. Do I really need to say why he deserves to carry around the briefcase? Yes he has already won it twice but another time wouldn't hurt. Punk being champion basically guarantees good to great PPV matches so it's a win-win! And call me crazy but I would still love to see Punk/Cena on PPV for the belt again. They CAN'T have a bad match!

Daniel Bryan is my favorite to win. Why? Besides what the dirtsheets are reporting, he did beat two of the top faces in the company on Raw in the past couple of weeks. If that isn't the start of a push, I don't know what is! I said before Team Hell No lost the belts that Bryan deserves a serious run with a World Title after everything he's gone through and it may just be a matter of time.

So yup, my favorite is Daniel Bryan this Sunday. I hope WWE doesn't mess up the mega match-up of Daniel Bryan VS John Cena at SummerSlam. No triple threat, no gimmicks, just a straight up one-on-one match for the belt.

The Wyatt Family destroyed Kane on Raw and now people are saying Wyatt will replace Kane. NO! It will mess up the All Stars moniker! And he wouldn't win anyway. It doesn't make sense! Put someone that is a former champion in, like Big Show or Mysterio. THAT makes more sense to me. Regardless, MITB this weekend should be amazing and game changing. A young superstar is going to get a chance of a lifetime while a veteran will get to live the dream once again. Let's go anyone but Swagger and Bryan!
