WRESTLEMANIA 27 Predictions!

Well, it's almost here. Kind of shocking isn't it? Wrestlemania is only days away and with it, comes predictions! I've been right on the money this year or so I like to believe but this is WrestleMania after all so who knows what will happen. Alright, let's get started!

Daniel Bryan/Sheamus should be the show opener since we already saw it like two weeks ago. Should be a nice start to a great event. I liked their first match and as long as it isn't as short as the first match last year, it should be good. Sheamus wins and then hopefully drops the title to Little Evan Bourne.

The Corre Vs The other four is a filler. The other four win just to make the crowd happy.

The mixed six person tag match disappoints me. Why on Earth is Dolph Ziggler not in a big match at Mania? He is a former World Champion! It's a crime that he's involved in this. Same for Morrison. Team Snook gets the victory in the dumbest match of the night.

Rhodes and Mysterio is a potential show stealer, but after the last two years, Rey has had some questionable Mania matches. I really like Rhodes' gimmick and I'm really surprised he's getting a top spot and his former tag partner isn't. I'm not saying Rhodes is bad, but it is shocking. This is going to be one of the better matches of the night that's going to go either way. I'm going with Dashing on this one but it really could go either way.

Punk and Orton is another potential show stealer. Orton had an alright match last year while Punk wasn't given enough time. I've been dying to see a feud between these two and this is easily my most looked forward to match of the night. This is another one that could go either way. I'm going with Punk on this one. I'm expecting Mr. Skip Sheffield to come back and maybe interfere.

Lawler/Cole isn't going to be a good wrestling classic, but it should be interesting to finally see Cole get his mouth shut. I'm actually really looking forward to see what happens in the match. It's obvious Lawler gets the victory in this one. He hasn't been able to touch Cole so when he finally does, he's going to destroy him. I'm praying we see the piledriver!

Alberto Del Rio VS Edge could be a great match. There are a lot of interesting variables in this match, namely Christian and Brodus Clay. I think we can expect some interference from Brodus and then he'll get ejected from ring side, leaving Christian out there to support Edge. Ref gets knocked out, Edge spears Del Rio. Christian gets a chair and says to take Del Rio out or something like that and then, BOOM, hits him in the arm and then gives him a Killswitch on the chair. Del Rio covers and finally becomes World Champion. It's his destiny right? He HAS to win this match. The past 3 Rumble winners haven't won the title at WrestleMania so the credibility of the Royal Rumble is going down. Why should I try to win the Rumble when I could just win a Chamber match and get to Mania instead? Another interesting fact is that Edge has been in the last 3 World Title matches at WrestleMania and has LOST each one. He's on a losing streak at Mania. Jericho lost 4 straight from 18-21 so it could happen to Edge too. Anyway about it, Del Rio HAS TO win the World Title. If he doesn't, WWE has wasted the time of the WWE Universe by pushing this guy to the moon, end of story.

Triple/Taker is going to be crazy. I'm hoping for weapons, tables breaking, and a lot of kicking out of each others finishers. How does this one go down? Simple, TAKER WINS. Spoiler alert! It's WrestleMania, he doesn't lose here. If HBK couldn't do it TWICE, why does Triple H think he could do it? I think Triple H kicks out of TWO Tombstones and that HBK will somehow get involved and cost Triple H the match. Whatever goes down, Taker will be 19-0 and will probably face John Cena in Miami next year.

The main event needs to be Cena/Miz. I don't care how big Taker/HHH is, Miz/Cena are the FUTURE of this industry. It would be a damn crime to keep them away from the main event, as Miz hasn't done it yet and Cena hasn't ended the show since 2007. Taker got his last year and Triple H the last before, so give the young guys the spotlight for once. Anyway, this is the hardest match to predict on the whole care because of the one wildcard; The Rock. What will he do? He's been teasing a beating for John Cena this Sunday, but will he do it after Cena wins the title or before, screwing him in the process. I think, now stay with me, the match turns into No DQ. Miz and Cena are going at it, Cena locks in the STFU. Miz looks like he's going to tap then here comes Rock. Rock and Cena start going at it, Rock gets upper hand Rock Bottom, People's Elbow. Then, Miz gives the SCF to Rock onto Cena, pins Cena, retains the WWE Title. Another scenario has Rock do what was done to him 10 years ago and that's beaten with a chair. He could side with Miz and beat him Cena down with a chair to help Miz retain the title. That one is WAY out there but I gotta think outside the box for this match. Whatever happens, this one is hard to call. I really, REALLY want to see The Miz go 2-0 at WrestleMania and beat Cena and continue the longest reigning WWE Title run in three years, but on the other hand, I can see them having Cena win to please the young fans, then pleasing the adult fans by having Rock beat Cena up afterwards. Who knows? I'm going with The Miz to retain over John Cena in the main event at WrestleMania XXVII, which would be only the 2nd heel in the history of Mania to retain the WWE Title in the main event.

Both titles haven't changed hands at Mania since Wrestlemania 21 6 years ago. Will it happen this year? Anyway, I'll be on here first thing after Mania is over to post my thoughts and comments on the either terrible or great decisions that they made. Either way, I'm really looking forward to this Sunday! A new era is upon us ladies and gentlemen, and it begins this Sunday.

Never marked out so hard for John Cena...

but WOW! He got the first hit on The Great One! Good job kid! I'm not a Cena fan, but if Cena/Rock ever happens, I'm cheering for Cena. Sorry, he needs it for his career. He's already beaten Triple H and HBK. Now, if he beats The Rock and The Undertaker again, he'll truly be one of the greats. I wonder how Rock will retaliate? Will he help Miz retain? I guess that's the obvious choice, but it's never obvious when it comes to WWE. And if Christian is going to cost Edge the title, they wouldn't have Rock cost Cena the title right? That's the same screw job in the same night. Who knows, but come on back on Friday for my predictions. 6 more days!!!!

10 more days...

What we will see at Mania this year? Will we see a new era with Del Rio and Miz? Will we see the same old stuff with Edge and Cena. Will Rock screw Cena or Miz? Will Taker and Triple H REALLY get the main event spot? Will Punk/Orton steal the show? Why isn't there a MITB on the card? A lot of question, no answers.

The next time I post will be next Friday, unless something BIG BIG BIG happens on Raw, and it will be my WrestleMania XXVII predictions. SPOILERS; I want Miz and Del Rio to win!
Oh yeah, congrats to my boy Wade Barrett, who won his first title in WWE, which was the IC Title. All the greats, Triple H, HBK, and The Rock have all won the IC Title before winning their first world title, so I see this as a good sign of things to come. Also, The Corre now holds two different titles in the IC and the Tag Titles. Could Big Zeke be the one to bring the World Title home The Corre? Of course not, but one can dream right? Once agin, congrats to Barrett. Greatness is in that guy and it's only a matter of time before they announce him as the new WWE or World Heavyweight Champion. If Miz and Ziggler can win titles, Barrett and Del Rio can as well.

Another Mania list!

This list is going to be the matches that SHOULD have ended the show. This list doesn't have any particular order.

Hogan/Rock WM 18 - COME ON! It was the biggest match in pro wrestling history. I know that there was a title match on the card, but then how do you explain how HBK/Taker got the main event last year? This was the dream matches to end all dream matches. You had the most influential wrestler in the history of wrestling versus the man who picked the ball up when Hogan dropped it. It was a crime that this wasn't the show ender.
HHH/Cena/Orton WM 24 - In terms of star power, this should have ended the show. It was like a past, present, and future triple threat match. You had Triple H, who became a household name in the Attitude Era and is one of the best superstars to come out of the WWE. You had John Cena, the guy who had the longest WWE Title reign in almost 20 years and who also had HHH and HBK TAP OUT in back to back WrestleManias. Then, you had Randy Orton, The Legend Killer, the guy who carried Raw when Cena couldn't and the youngest World Heavyweight Champion in history. This had all the makings of a main event match at Mania, but in the end, WWE did make the right decision. Edge/Taker tore the non existing roof down in Orlando.
I'll probably have to add Cena/Miz to this list in two weeks because I'm sure WWE is going to screw up and give the two old guys the spotlight.
Well, that's the end of that list. Very short I know. I think Orton/HHH deserved the main event at 25 simply for the storyline, same with HBK/Taker at 26.
What is going to be the opening match at Mania? Gotta get the crowd into the show from the get go. I'm expecting Orton/Punk to kick things of, but wouldn't be surprised if Del Rio/Edge did either.

Warming up for Mania

We got 17 days left until the Show of Shows and I'm getting ready by watching all the Manias I have on tape. (which is X8, 21-25) As I'm watching them, I begin questioning myself what my favorite main event match was from WrestleMania? And when I say MAIN EVENT, I mean the match that ended the show, not HBK/Taker 1 or Rock/Hogan. Here are my 5 top choices. This was a hard list to rank.

5. Rock/Austin - Ah, the end of the Attitude Era. Easily their best match and a fantastic end to what many regard as the best WM of all time. It was back and forth and the fact that is was a No Holds Barred match made it even better. An instant classic.
4. Lesnar/Angle - A wrestling match at it finest. As soon as this was announced, I knew it had the potential to be a show stealer and they had some stiff competition to follow in HBK/Jericho, Rock/Austin 3, and Hogan/Vince. They had a truly fantastic WRESTLING match. The spot with Lesnar doing the Shooting Star Press will forever live in my mind. The man almost killed himself, but it made the match that much better.
3. HBK/Cena - This match stole the show, no surprise, since it had Mr. Wrestlemania in it. He really made Cena look good in this match. To anyone who hates Cena and says he can't put on a good match need to watch this over again. It was a fantastic 28 minute wrestling match. While I still think HBK should've won, it helped Cena's career in the long run and that's the main job of the more experienced talent. Make the young guys look good and put them over. Fantastic match.
2. Cena/HHH - When I look back at this match, it's really not the wrestling that made it #2 on my list, even though it was a great match. It's the atmosphere. The crowd REALLY hated Cena. They wanted HHH to win in the worst way. It was awesome to hear. Triple H had the crowd in the palm of his hand. Every action that Cena did, they booed. Everything HHH did, they cheered. And then to see Cena make Triple H tap out, it was insane. I didn't like it at the time, but once again, it was for the better. You don't build a guy like Cena up and then let him lose. I realize that now.
1. Edge/Taker - For me, the reigning WM main event to beat. First and foremost, I loved seeing Edge finally main event a WM. And to main event against someone who is undefeated, was even more of an honor. The match was back and forth, fun to watch, and told a great story. Edge really brought his A-game in this match and so did Taker. I would have rather seen a Tombstone ending, but it doesn't diminish the match at all. Such a great match and easily the match of the night and the best main event in WM history in my opinion.
I'll have some more WM lists coming up in the later weeks as we get ready for Wrestlemania 27.

Alright, Miz is going to lose

He is completely DOMINATING Cena. It's insane. This is just like last year with Batista. Every week, Batista owned Cena and what happened at Mania? Batista tapped in a 13 minute match. If Miz keeps dominating like this, he can kiss his WWE Title goodbye. Also, congrats to the NEW WWE US Champion Sheamus! It's about time someone beat Bryan. And, unfortunately, Snooki didn't get a Stunner, a RKO, or anything like that, but we still have a chance because Snooki will be wrestling at Mania with Morrison and Stratus to face Ziggler and Lay-Cool. Well, I WAS looking forward to every match on the card, but now, it's 6/7. It's still a great card though. 20 more days!

Don't forget about Miz!

EVERYONE keeps forgetting about Miz for some reason. He's the damn WWE Champion for crying out loud, but after tonight, they won't forget him now. Miz assaulted Cena, dissed The Rock, and gave Cena Rock's own People's Elbow. And in the end, Miz won. 27 more days until Miz retains in the biggest match of his career.

Chances of Del Rio and Miz both winning?

Well, we all know by now that both main events this year have two young guys it in, the first time this has happened since Wrestlemania 21. That year, both Cena and Batista won World Titles and they started a new era in WWE. It's also the only time both titles changed hands at the big event. That event really jump started both of their careers. Could we see a repeat performance 6 years later?

The most likely scenario is one new champion and one retaining. I really believe Del Rio will win the World Title. They're building this guy up and not having him win the title at the biggest event would ruin his WHOLE push. Not to mention ruin the whole point of the Royal Rumble. So if Del Rio wins, then Miz has to retain, but that is HIGHLY unlikely. I still think Rock is going to screw Cena, but I could see him screwing Miz as well. It's going to go either way. I think one young guy is going to walk out as champion, with that guy being Del Rio. He HAS to win the title. Miz has been champion for almost 5 months so if he loses, it wouldn't be as bad. And plus, he's facing Cena AKA Superman. Can't blame him if he loses.

Loving this WM card so far

CM Punk/Orton and Lawler/Cole have officially been announced for the big event. Punk/Orton is a match I've wanted to see for years so this is easily one of my most anticipated matches of the night. Cole/Lawler will tell a good story. It's not going to be a great match up like Orton/Punk but it should be interesting. I'm looking forward to see what kind of attire Cole will be sporting and I wanna see his entrance.
On SD, Rhodes challenged Mysterio to a match at the big event, so that's six one-on-one matches on the card so far. Also, Teddy Long fired Drew McIntyre. He's the 3rd person Long has fired since being back. I don't understand what the hell is going on on SD but this firing storyline needs to stop unless this somehow benefits Del Rio. For example, what if Ziggler and McIntyre were so mad at Long that they interferred and cost Edge the title at Mania? If they don't do it, Christian needs to. While Del Rio is becoming a big name in WWE, he can't beat Edge cleanly. Not yet at least. Whatever happens, Del Rio is winning that title.

6 matches on the card and now I ask myself, who's left? Sheamus, Morrison, Daniel Bryan, and Kingston to name a few. Evan Bourne came back and finally beat Sheamus. They haven't announced any plans of MITB so I'm guessing there won't be one this year. Without that match, a lot of young guys won't be featured on the card. If MITB doesn't happen, they need to make up for it somehow. Have Bryan defend against Sheamus, Bourne, and Morrison instead of just Sheamus. I don't really have any plans for Kofi. He really should've dropped the title to Del Rio but they dropped that ball. Mr. Barrett isn't doing anything. Maybe him and Jackson will face Show and Diesel. Damn shame how they treat that man. Went from top heel in WWE to almost winning the WWE Title to almost having a career breakout match with Taker to doing some random undercard WrestleMania match. Really pisses me off to see what they're doing with him. He's getting the CM Punk treatment. Whatever WWE ends up doing they can't hurt the already great card. I wanna see every match so far. The Cole/Lawler match is going to be hiliarious, Rhodes/Mysterio is going be fantastic, Punk/Orton are going to tear the house down, Del Rio might win his 1st World Title, Taker and Triple H are going to put on a show, and Miz and Cena will tell a great story. This card actually looks better than last year's and we all know how hype I was for last year's card. Well time will tell. It's only 31 days away!
