It's official now. After last night's fantastic main event, John Cena retained his Royal Rumble victory and defeated CM Punk to go on to face The Rock at Wrestlemania. Is this the first time ever than the same match has closed out Wrestlemania two years in a row? Obviously, Rock and Stone Cold did it at 15 and 17 but this is a first! After last night, I don't care if it's a rematch, Cena deserves to get his redemption against The Rock. I'm not too happy about it but I'm rooting for Cena. He needs this victory to exercise his demons. It should be a good match nonetheless.
CM Punk losing sucks for me as a fan, especially seeing how Undertaker hasn't come back to television yet but he did return to a live event. Now that WWE has put on their website wondering if Taker will return, it's only a matter of time right? I'm guessing he returns tonight on the Smackdown tapings to set up his match with Punk. I mean, Punk did refer to himself as immortal and God. Am I reading too much into it? Maybe. Another match Taker could be apart of would be a Six Man Tag with Sheamus and Orton taking on The Shield. That way, Taker is protected and he's still featured in a big time match with some of the youth. The youth also gets some exposure on the grand stage.
Sheamus is feuding with both The Shield and apparently Young Master Wade Barrett for whatever reason. Barrett/Sheamus would be sick and hard hitting. I'd mark out if it's announced but that puts a question mark on who would team with Taker and Orton. Hmmmmm, why are the midcard feuds so flipping scattered?
And what is Ryback, Big Show, Mark Henry, and Dolph Ziggler doing? Big Show wasn't even FEATURED on the show! That's crazy! He was just World Champion last month! Ziggler and Ryback had a throwaway match and Henry just destroyed Khali. What is the direction for these guys? Will Ryback face either Show or Henry and get his Wrestlemania moment? Will Ziggler and Jericho settle their feud at the big event? Will Cesaro get a match? While WWE has done very well in setting up their main events, they haven't given much direction to the midcard. There's still 6 weeks to Mania and there's only two announced matches. I'm getting a little nervous. I feel like the rest of the matches will be just there as filler for Rock/Cena. Maybe WWE will make it work but right now, I'm a bit nervous.
Here's my card after last night's big show.
Rock/Cena 2 for the WWE Championship is the obvious show ender. Should be good, hope Cena gets his revenge.
HHH/Lesnar in some type of stipulation match that's NOT Hell in a Cell. 3 Stages of Hell would be good.
Punk/Taker is the match Punk deserves. He won't win but it's an honor to face The Phenom at the grandest stage of them all.
Del Rio/Swagger is still on apparently. I'm not a fan of the bashing of other races in wrestling but as long as it works, do it I guess. I'm looking forward to the match though.
Sheamus/Barrett for the IC Title. When was the last time the IC Title was defended at Mania? 25? Time to defend it again. This would give the title some credibility again.
Ryback/Henry would showcase Ryback's strength and would definitely be an interesting match.
The Shield VS Orton's Team. I don't know who the heck they could get to face The Shield now if Taker and Sheamus are busy with their other matches. Maybe Big Show turns face and helps out the cause? Who knows?
Ziggler/Jericho need to open the show and set the pace for the entire card. Ziggler needs to be featured at Mania. His best bet would be facing Jericho again.
WWE needs to have a multi-man match. I don't understand why they took away the MITB from Mania. It was tradition and it gave guys who aren't involved with the big feuds something to do and to showcase their abilities. There's nothing wrong with three MITB winners. The one at Mania would just be either for either title. I don't want to see some type of 12 Man Tag like last year but they need something. Maybe a Fatal Four Wau here or a Triple Threat there. It's gotta happen or a lot of great talent will be sitting backstage on the biggest show of the year.
Will WWE shock me and completely go off course from this card? I'm sure they will and maybe they have something better planned than I do. Well, it's gotta be announced soon whatever is going to be done!

Elimination Chambers 2013 predictions!
The last PPV before Wrestlemania XXIX. The calm before the big storm. This PPV has been predictable over the past couple of years, solely because it's a setup PPV. The Rumble winner is already set and you usually know who he's going to challenge. 2009 wasn't predictable at ALL but that was under the No Way Out PPV so that doesn't count! In 2010, Edge won the Rumble and we all knew a match with Jericho was all but confirmed and we also knew a HBK/Taker rematch was going to main event, so what happened? Jericho won the title thanks to HBK. In 2011, Cena entered the #1 Contenders Chamber and won after Miz eliminated him from the Rumble three earlier. Last year, the only two logical choices to win the WWE Title Chamber were Punk and Jericho, who were on a crash course to face each other. Punk won. What I'm saying is usually this PPV doesn't offer any shock value. This year, I might eat my words.
John Cena IS the Royal Rumble winner and will face off for the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania. So that automatically means him and his super friends have to destroy The Shield. That's no problem for me, just as long as it's a great match up like their TLC encounter. So, obviously unless in some WWE swerve that doesn't happen but once in a lifetime, Cena/Ryback/Sheamus defeat The Shield in the match of the night.
I'm liking this Miz/Cesaro feud and I think it's going to help both of these guys in the long run. It should be an interesting match-up and maybe Miz will win and defend the belt and his 3-0 streak at Wrestlemania this year but will Cesaro do? Hmmm, you know what? I'm going with Cesaro. I still want to see Kofi and Cesaro feud.
Del Rio and Big Show. With Jericho in the Chamber match, it looks like Ziggler is going to cash in and win the World Title this weekend to set-up the obvious but highly anticpated rematch between Dolph Ziggler and Chris Jericho. I hope so, I'd rather see this two face off even though it's a rematch. It would fit the flipping theme of this Wrestlemania! Anyway, what I'm basically saying is that the outcome of this match is pretty pointless if that happens. I'm guessing it's going to be Del Rio, Big Show knocks him out and ba boom, Ziggler wins the title. Maybe Del Rio will go on to face Swagger at Mania? I'd like to see it. Is it too obvious though? WWE couldn't be THIS predictable could it?
So you already know who I'm picking for this chamber match huh? Well, obviously Jericho. I haven't been this excited for a chamber match in awhile. It could be a real show stealer. I'm rooting hard for Jericho and Bryan but would be OK with Henry winning as well. Orton desperately needs this spotlight and a heel Orton VS a face Del Rio would be interesting. Anyway, match should be crazy, it will probably come down to Jericho and Mark Henry and Jericho will find a way to win his way to Wrestlemania. I love it! Chris Jericho wins the #1 Contender's Chamber match.
Punk and Rock will main event again. I'm kind of shocked by the DQ stipulation, which makes me think there would be mischief about to make Punk regain his championship since Punk's huge match with Taker is now in serious jeopardy. Maybe The Shield will attack Punk this time around? Or Brock Lesnar to set up a Fatal Four Way match between Lesnar, Punk, Rock, and Cena? Maybe I'm just being way too optimistic with that but they wouldn't put that stipulation without some type of plan going into the match. Despite that, the rematch will not be stopped. The Rock will overcome the odds and set-up the main event of Wrestlemania 29.
I became excited for Wrestlemania again. Once Jericho threw his hat in the Chamber, I just started thinking of the rematch between Ziggler and Jericho, which would be a rematch but it would be much better than their first match. Anyway, the Road to Wrestlemania will be much more clear after this weekend. With the ending of the PPV, we'll know most of the top matches for the biggest PPV of the year. We'll know who Cena will be challenging, we'll know who will battle for the World Title, and we'll also know if Taker will be competing at Wrestlemania or not. How will we know that? If Punk wins, I think it's safe to say Taker is out. Or if Lesnar interferes in the title match.
We can also start to speculate what will happen for the rest of the superstars. What will happen to Sheamus and Orton, two of the top superstars in the WWE? Will a clash between the two happen at Mania? What about the midcard champions? What about the beast Ryback? And the young upstarts The Shield? I guess we'll have to wait and see what WWE has in store for them.

World Title picture for Mania
With the WWE Championship match all but confirmed, I now look at who will facing off for the World Heavyweight Championship at the biggest event of the year. As of today, there are four people announced for the World Title EC match while Del Rio will do battle with Big Show for the title at the PPV as well. Here are some of my favorite matches that could come out of this match.
First, I'm going to assume Swagger and Kane are the last two people in the match unless Barrett, Rhodes, or Sandow get in there, which is very unlikely.
Ziggler/Bryan
This is the match-up I would most want to see but is obviously the least likely. This would mean Ziggler would have to cash in while Bryan would have to overcome the odds again for the 2nd year in a row and survive the chamber. We haven't seen these two clash in a while so while they have faced each other before, it's still a a breath of fresh air to this rematch filled Wrestlemania. Ziggler and Bryan would steal the show and would set the pace for the rest of the night. Book it!
Ziggler/Mysterio
Another two guys who have wrestled before but it's been a while so maybe it's time for these two to revisit each other and have another classic match. While I don't like Mysterio, I can't deny that him and Ziggler have chemistry. Well, who doesn't have chemistry with Ziggler anyway? Just like Ziggler/Bryan, it has the opportunity to steal the show and really set the pace for the entire card. It's just a smart move.
Ziggler/Del Rio/Bryan
A Triple Threat between some of the future stars of WWE. What better way to feature these guys on the grandest stage of them all? Even if Ziggler cashes in and wins the belt, Del Rio isn't just going to go away. It doesn't make sense when he has a rematch clause right? Anyway, just give them some time and I think this could be a very solid match that showcases what fans can expect once guys like HHH, Rock, and Taker aren't there anymore.
That's it! I'm sorry, you can't have a great Wrestlemania match without Ziggler! While I think Del Rio/Swagger and Del Rio/Henry have potential to be good matches, those are for PPVs AFTER Mania. I'm actually looking forward to a Del Rio/Swagger feud to be honest. Anyway, I just feel Ziggler's performance from the last year merits a World Title match at Mania, call me crazy. What if they added Jericho to the mix? Or just had a Jericho/Bryan match just for kicks? That would be amazing. Or Ziggler/Bryan/Jericho? COME ON WWE! PLEASE!
So, what will the rest of the card look like at Wrestlemania? Let's start with this:
Rock VS Cena
HHH VS Lesnar
Punk VS Taker
World Title match featuring Ziggler, Bryan, Jericho, and/or Del Rio
Rhodes has to face Goldust this year! Come on, after that POP at the Rumble, it's inevitable! Ryback needs to face either Big Show or Mark Henry. I'd prefer Henry as it would probably be the better match. Some type of multi-man needs to happen and whatever Miz does, since he's 3-0 on the main card of Wrestlemania. WWE will think of something, but I just hope Ziggler and Ryback aren't miused on this card. Sheamus and Orton? I have no idea. I don't know HOW a title match between Orton and Sheamus would happen now since Sheamus has lost the belt and isn't even featured in the Chamber match, but I would love to see it.
This Elimination Chamber match should be very good. You got the spot man Mysterio, the veteran Randy Orton, the best grappler in WWE Daniel Bryan and now the World's Strongest Man Mark Henry. Add two more superstars that aren't The Great Khali and you have yourself a match I want to see. Here's rooting for Daniel Bryan VS Dolph Ziggler at Wrestlemania XXIX!
