I'm thinking about putting my story, The First Journey, on my blog for you people to see. I don't know, though, since it's just random ideas I put together from video games and my life in general. I won't say what it's about, but just know that I might be posting it. Who knows, whatever my gut tells me.
WrestleMania XXV is 5 days away. HBK VS Taker + Orton/HHH + 25 DIVAS BATTLE ROYAL = Win! I'm placing my predictions right now!
Orton wins the WWE Title after a screw job from one of the McMahons.
Edge retains the World Title.
HBK finally ends the streak (yeah right!)
Christian, Benjamin, or MVP win the MITB.
Mae Young will win the Battle Royal
Jeff will beat his brother.
Morrison and Miz will rise to be the greatest tag team and win their 2nd WWE Tag Team Championships together.
Rey Mysterio wins his first ever IC Title
Jericho buries the Legends, gets Stunner by the newest Legend, Stone Cold
Match order! (My version)
Divas Battle Royal
MITB
IC Title Match
Tag Title Match
Extreme Rules
Jericho VS Legends
World Title Match
HBK VS Taker
WWE Title
Match order (probable WWE version)
MITB
Extreme Rules
Tag Title Match
IC Title Match
Jericho VS Legends
World Title Match
HBK VS Taker
Divas Battle Royal
WWE Title Match
The Divas Battle Royal would be a great way to kick off the whole night, then they get serious with the MITB, get to the two dumb title matches, have an awesome, over the top match, show everyone's favorite new HOF, Stone Cold, have a heel win, have Taker win, then end the night with a heel winning. When the last time a heel won in the main event at WM? When I say Main Event, I mean the last match to end the show. It wasn't last year, 23 had two faces fight each other, wasn't 22, 21, 20, 19, 18. 17 Austin became heel at the end. WM2000, Triple H retained as a heel, so it's been 9 YEARS since the fans haven't gone home happy. That's a shame, They need Orton to win. Sure, Triple H hasn't won at WM since 19 and Orton DID win last year, but Triple H buries his opponents every year. Why can't Triple H just boost his opponents. Look at Cena. He made HHH tap out and he became even bigger than he was.

Almost done Star Ocean IV
Now that I'm done RE5 (even on Pro) and Crackdown, I basically played Star Ocean all this past week. On Monday, I was on Disc 1 and had about 7 hours in the game. Now, I have 34 hours in it and I'm on Disc 3. Just like every other Tri-Ace game, the real fun doesn't happen until you beat the game and I found out that not only is there an AWESOME Colosseum is it, there is also two optional dungeons to choose from. I might even think about playing this game on Universe and Chaos after I beat it on Galaxy, who knows? I like this game that much. I think I'm going to buy Star Ocean 3 again. I had it when it first came out, but for some reason, I didn't really get into it. At the time, I only liked turn based RPGs. It was actually Radiata Stories that opened my mind to real time RPGs so I think I'll give SO3 another shot. Good thing SO4 is a prequel to the whole series. Another reason could be because I only had the game for a month before I got Paper Mario 2 and my first taste of the Shin Megami Tensei series, Nocturne. GameStop has it used for 12.99 so maybe I'll pick it up.

Wrestlemania XXV is almost here! Star Ocean is the Last Hope
9 days to go until WMXXV. HBK VS Undertaker is my pick for Match of the night. HBK has stolen the show 5 out of the last 6 WMs (WM22 going to Edge and Foley) and he shouldn't disappoint in this one.
Star Ocean: The Last Hope may be the best JRPG to come to the 360. I have yet to play Tales of Vesperia, but I really believe that you can't go wrong with it. Lost Odyssey is probably the 2nd best now.

Resident Evil 5 completed
Well, RE5, AKA, the most hyped up game of the year, is now finished. Now that I beat it twice, (I just beat it 2 hours ago on Veteran) I can firmly say that while RE5 is a great game, it's not better than RE4.
The Jill and Wesker fight was bad ass. Wesker has to be my 2nd favorite RE villian, only behind Nemesis. You couldn't even shoot the man unless he couldn't see you. And his speed was crazy. Jill is the only chick I like beating me up. She was doing all these flips and kicks and she even gave me a monkey flip! I'm glad we got that control thing off her chest.
The last battle at the volcano was sweet. Wesker turned into a literal beast and was whipping his arms around but I beat him. Then, after you beat him, he still doesn't give up. He grabs the helicopter you're in and you and your partner have to kill Wesker for good; with two rocket launchers. Both of the warheads go into Wesker's head and explode, a great ending to a great character. The ending itself was bad, but the game was still great. GOTY? Right now it is, but we're only through 1 quarter of the year, so anything could happen.

Wrestlemania is only 19 days away (sigh)
I can't wait for Wrestlemania. They just announced Miz and Morrison VS Carlito and Primo for both Tag Titles, which brings the WM card to seven matches. They'll probably announce JBL VS Mysterio for the IC Title and Jericho VS Flair. All the matches look great and the Divas Battle Royal is a genius idea. 19 spots have been confirmed so far. I figure they're going to have Torrie Wilson, Trish Stratus, Sunny, Mae Young, and two others as the last six. You know they have to have Mae Young as a participant. Hell, she might win the dang thing.
RE5 continues to impress/make me groan. I just got to the caves and they stole a part right out of RE4. Chris and Sheva are walking in a hall, and then the statues start falling down behind them. You're prompted to press the A button as fast as you can to avoid the statues. Does anybody remember when the big Salazar statue is chasing you in 4? Maybe it's just me. Maybe I'm in denial. I love the game, but I feel many are taking it too seriously. I'm halfway through it now and I can't wait to beat it. I'm going to have infinite ammo with my pistol baby!

Busy, busy, busy
It's been a crazy week with VGs man. I got Star Ocean IV on Thursday and played it on Friday. I went to Gamestop on Saturday to trade some games in and take part in their Buy 2 used games, get 1 free sale and I bought Opoona, Dokapon Kingdom, and got Crackdown free. The same day, I got RE5 in the mail on the same day. Today, I'm expecting Chrono Trigger from GameFly and Avalon Code Tuesday or Wednesday. So yeah, I'm keeping busy with games.
For me, Opoona was a pleasant surprise. I read the reviews and it seemed that people really didn't like it, but I'm having a blast with the battles. It's pretty challenging if you're not careful. Dokapon Kingdom is fun as well and I can't wait until I can get other people playing. Crackdown is great. I love being able to lift up cars and throw them down unto people and stuff.
And now the big boy, Resident Evil 5, the most anticipated game of the year. I've played the full version and it's just too much like RE4 for me. I haven't played online yet because I want to beat it on my own first so I can't comment on the online play, but RE5 is still a great game. I just get deja vu playing it. For me, my favorite game out of my 5ones I have is Star Ocean. SE and Tri-Ace recovered from their abysmal last game and put out a really well done RPG. The critics may not like it, but critics hate JRPGs, so their opinion doesn't matter.
I can't wait to play Chrono Trigger again and Avalon Code looks like a freshing new experience. I'll blog after I play them.
You know what today is? 3/16. Austin 3:16 anyone?

Do we have a problem, ha ha?
Did anyone watch South Park last night? How funny was Mickie Mouse? LMFAO!!! I loved the part when he beat up one of the Jonas Brothers. Man, that was classic. When they said the boss was coming, I knew it was going to be Mickie or so old Disney star. The episode was just epic in my opinion and I loved The Ring music video. BBAAABY. lol.
I'll probably be getting Star Ocean IV today. And GameFly shipped RE5, so I'll play it on Saturday or Monday! GameFly has been doing a pretty good job lately.

A new Resident Evil for the Wii? Wrestling stuff
I heard Capcom was going to be announcing a new Resident Evil game tomorrow during the midnight release party, but apparently, it was already leaked. It's called Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles and I guess it's the same thing as Umbrella Chronicles. That's good news because I really enjoyed UC. Hopefully, they'll add some stuff from Code Veronica and RE4 (probably not)
OK, so Wrestlemania XXV is looking nice. Christian and Kofi Kingston join Finlay, Kane, MVP, Benjamin, CM Punk, and the best athlete in the match, Mark Henry. I'm really looking forward to the match now. I hope there is a big spot using Mark Henry because his spot could've went to Evan Bourne or anyone else, so it better be something epic he does in the match. Every other match on the card, I'm looking forward to. Both World Title matches are fine with me, HBK VS Taker will probably MOTN/Y, and the 25 Divas Battle Royal looks to be great. 25 years of divas in one ring? That has major potential. That's only five matches compared to last year's nine. They still haven't announced Hardy VS Hardy, so that should be coming up. JBL's plan to make WM history is still on (probably defending his newly won IC Title) and Jericho VS a Legend. Now, Flair's suppose to face him next week so who Jericho going to face at Mania? Stone Cold or Hulk Hogan? Either one is fine with me.
It seems this year, WWE has got a card that I can't complain about. Last year, I liked Wrestlemania 24. HBK VS Flair and Edge VS Taker were two of the best matches of 2008, but with JBL VS Finlay, Batista VS Umaga, Chavo VS Kane, the Playboy Bunny Tag Match, and Mayweather VS Big Show, the show was relatively boring. This WM reminds me of WM20, where they're going all out and putting on a good show. We'll have to see whether or not this WM will be better than last year's.

I'm conflicted...
Ok, so I was on Gamestop's website and I found out I have two of the games on the Resident Evil 5 list, where I can trade the games in and get the game for 20 bucks! The thing is, I don't know if I really want this game now. I've been reading that this game is only 10 hours long, which is fine since I'm trading the two games in. I was also looking at another deal where I can trade 6 games in and get 40% trade-in value, which would get me Star Ocean IV. So, to sum it up, I could trade in two games and use $20 to get RE5 or I could trade in 6+ games to get Star Ocean IV. I think I'm going to rent RE5 from GameFly. I'm going to send Fallout 3, Dark Messiah, and Top Spin 3 all back tomorrow so I can try and get MadWorld, Avalon Code, and Resident Evil 5 on Saturday. That would be a great day if that happened.
I bought RE4 the first weekend it came out and I wasn't disappointed. The only thing was that I played the game straight through and beat it on the following Monday. I continued to play the game for a couple of days, but I felt like I wasted my money. Don't get me wrong, RE4 was my favorite game of that year, but I just felt that for 50 bucks, I should have had a 20 hour experience. Maybe because I'm a RPG fan, I enjoy lengthier games. I bought Persona 4 for 40 bucks and surpassed amount of money it cost in hours within the first week. Yeah, I beat P4 exactly three weeks after I bought it, but I definitely felt that it was worth all 40 bucks I spent on it. I know RE5 has online co-op, but how many times can you play the same story with a different person? Not many times for me. I beat RE4 like 5 times though in the month I bought it, so maybe it's worth the two games and 20 bucks. I don't know; maybe my mom will be nice and get Star Ocean IV for me and I can just buy RE5 without any remorse. We'll have to see. I have until April 5 (Wrestlemania Sunday!) to decide, so no pressure.
I heard that Big Show said that he will be facing Edge and Cena at WM25, LMAO. I guess he knew that the fans are smarter than WWE thinks.

Big week for games coming up
As I'm sure everyone knows, Resident Evil 5 finally releases on the PS3 and 360. Unfortunately, no RE5 on the Wii, but the Wii does have MadWorld! Both games look amazing and I would love to play them both. I'm more amped to play MadWorld, since it's a whole new experience, while RE5 is just 4 with better graphics, a different story, and co-op. I feel MadWorld will be the better game, but it will be overshadowed by the giant that is RE5. Oh well, if you're a Wii owner, you've probably been waiting for this for a long time.
WWE doesn't know what they're doing anymore. Mark Henry and Finlay are in MITB? What about Kofi Kingston, Evan Bourne, Christian, and many others. I have no problem with Kane, (he was in the first MITB, which was the best) CM Punk, MVP, and Benjamin. I know Finlay was in MITB before, but Henry throws the whole match off. W/e, the rest of the card looks alright. Orton VS Triple H, HBK VS Taker, Hardy VS Hardy all look pretty good. Edge VS Big Show better turn into a triple threat with Cena, so it can be somewhat decent. Jericho VS either Hogan/Flair should be ok. I prefer Hogan though. I heard they're doing a 25 Diva Battle Royal and they're trying to get 25 years of divas or something. Could this mean we could see Mae Young, Trish Stratus, and maybe even Chyna? Who knows, but it does have potential. WM25 looks better than last year's card, maybe because it doesn't have a dumb boxer on the card. We'll have to see if it really will be good though.

What games define the last couple generations of gaming?
I was having a discussion with my friend while walking home and this conversation came. What games really define the last couple generations of gaming?
In the fifth generation, (1993-2002) there were many standout games. Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy VII, and Super Mario 64 are all considered some of the best games ever and of the fifth generation, but the best game to come out of the fifth generation is The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It's loved by critics and fans alike. OoT didn't have many flaws and it was enjoyable but at the same time difficult. Without this game, we may not have many adventure games now. We can't forget the Resident Evil series, which made its debut in 1996. It defined survival horror and is still an influential title today.
In the sixth generation, (1998-2006) Grand Theft Auto III stood out because of its sandbox game style. It was and still is, one of the best PS2 titles. We also had Final Fantasy X, the last really excellent RPG from Square-Enix. God of War became one of the top action games, as well as Devil May Cry and Ninja Gaiden. But the game that stands out most from this generation is Resident Evil 4. Not only did it change the whole series, it made it better and is still influential today. Look at Gears of War.
In our current generation of gaming, Metal Gear Solid 4, GTA IV, and Gears of War all define what next-gen gaming is all about. But there are so many, such as Fallout 3, Bioshock, Prince of Persia, and many others. As it stands, MGS4 is probably the game to define this era, but with MadWorld, Resident Evil 5, and God of War 3 on the way, it's hard to tell.
Well, those are some games that define the last 15 years of gaming. Most of the info I got was from Wikipedia, but the opinions are my own. Thanks to Legend of Zelda: OoT, Resident Evil 4, and MGS4, I think gaming has a bright future.

I may have to change my GOTY list from last year...
I finally played Fallout 3 on Friday and I have one thing to say: WOW. I played Oblivion, but I was absolutely blown away by the freedom of this game. The beginning of the game is a little corny. I liked seeing myself get older and getting to form my character, but I didn't like that I had to get beat up by a kid and couldn't fight back. I mean, come on! When you first leave the Vault and look outside for the first time, I felt overwhelmed from looking at the scenery because I knew there was so much to do. The game really picked up when I blew up Megaton. I knew that this was without a doubt, one of the best games to come out in 2008. After blowing up Megaton, I just randomly killed people in the tower I was in. Needless to say, I'm the only one living there now. Call me whatever you want, I just love killing innocence people in that game. It gives me a rush to know that I can do whatever I want. I'm two more quests from beating the game, but I'm going to start a new file and play as a good guy. Fallout 3 is my 2nd favorite game from 2008. I didn't think that it would engross me as much Persona 4, but I was dead wrong. I played Fallout 3 for 20 hours in 4 days.
