Miz is definitely going to Wrestlemania as champ!

Miz is a lucky duck. Unlike Sheamus, he won't be defending his title inside the Elimination Chamber. Nope, he'll be facing Jerry The King Lawler at the PPV. So that's basically an automatic win and once again I was right. I said Miz would walk into Mania as champion and he definitely will. FANTASTIC! Cena/Miz is basically confirmed as well as Cena/Truth/Morrison/Sheamus/Orton/Punk will face off in a #1 contender Elimination Chamber match. There's no chance in hell of Morrison and Truth winning and no heel will be facing Miz so Cena is the likely choice. With Del Rio getting his shot at the World Title, Edge will probably be defending the title in the EC. Edge would defend against Ziggler/Barrett/Big Show/Mysterio/Rhodes, win, then face Del Rio. Gotta wait until after the tapings tomorrow to be sure though.

Wrestlemania 27 plans

It's still surreal that Del Rio actually won the Rumble. I mean, the kid just came into WWE 6 months ago. He hasn't even main evented a PPV yet. He's only been in one high profile match in his career and this is the guy who will be headlining the showcase of the immortals. Who will Del Rio be facing at the event? Well, my bet is on Edge, but history is not on his side. How many champions have retained inside that chamber? Triple H and Cena are the only two that come to mind that have. It's not looking good for Edge or Miz right now. Hopefully, they'll announce who will be competing in the Elimination Chamber tonight. Storyline wise, it should be Sheamus/Morrison/Punk/Orton/Cena/Miz. Miz should end up retaining since that's only way I can see him main eventing with Cena. It's better to see a face chasing a heel especially at the grandest stage of them all. For Smackdown, I think it will be Edge/Ziggler/Barrett/Jackson/Mysterio/Rhodes. They could use Christian instead of Jackson if he's healthy enough. Edge retains then faces Del Rio at Mania. I really can't see BOTH champions retaining inside the chamber, if in the almost 10 year history of the match, only two have done that feat. Well, let's see what the dirt sheets say and we still have to wait 20 more days until the event anyway. Like I said in my last post, Wrestlemania looks like this:
Miz/Cena for the WWE Title
CM Punk/Orton - Maybe for a #1 contender at Extreme Rules?
Alberto Del Rio/Edge for the World Title.
Wade Barrett/Undertaker
Mysterio/Cody Rhodes
Some kind of Nexus/Corre match-up.
This card actually has more potential than the Wrestlemania 26 card. Rhodes facing Mysterio is a great way to push his career. He has a good gimmick and he's a pretty good wrestler so putting him against Mysterio isn't the worst idea. CM Punk/Orton is going to be fantastic! I'm so looking forward to two of my favorites facing off. Hopefully we'll get an explanation of why he attacked Orton tonight. Barrett and Taker should be good. Barrett has had some good matches with Cena and really has become one of the top guys in the company. He won't end Taker's streak but it will be interesting to see him try. Del Rio and Edge will be great. Del Rio really hasn't had a strong one on one match at a PPV so it will be interesting to see how he does. Will Del Rio go over Edge and become World Champion at Wrestlemania? He needs to, since the last two guys didn't do it and that Rumble % of winners going on to win the title at Mania is going down. It's going to be a LONG 62 days. Miz/Cena should be the show ender. It's the biggest match WWE can do one on one wise for the title. They ruined Punk and Cena on Raw so that's out. This is the only choice. I'm rooting hard for Miz. Could you imagine Miz and Del Rio BOTH winning?! That's a new era of WWE for ya. The year of the newcomer Part II is beginning. Until next time Internet

The Essence of Excellence!

Well, my #1 pick didn't win, good performance CM Punk, but my #2 did! Yes Ladies and Gentlemen, that young guy named Alberto Del Rio, the guy who's been in WWE for 6 months, is headed to the main event of WrestleMania! It came down to Del Rio and Santino (what the hell?) and of course the Essence of Excellence won the big one! Who would have thunk it? Oh wait, I DID!! What a night of Rumble action. Diesel and Booker T are back, CM Punk dominated the Rumble for the 2nd year in a row, and Cena didn't win. Good night. Mad to see a face Edge cheat to win his title match. He's sending a bad message to the kids. Great way to start the PPV off. Well, it looks like CM Punk will be facing Orton at Mania. That should be a good. Also, mind as well book Miz/Cena on the card too. And Edge/Del Rio as well. So there goes 3 matches. Then add Mysterio/Rhodes and Barrett/Taker and you got a nice little Wrestlemania card going. Great Royal Rumble PPV. Keep it up WWE, KEEP IT UP!
Also, that's 3 years in a row now that a favorite wrestler of mine has won the Rumble, but notice how the other 2 didn't win the title at their WrestleMania. Hopefully, Del Rio will change that.

Could we see Diesel and Booker T in the Rumble?

As of this typing, there are 6 spots remaining in the 2011 Royal Rumble match. Triple H has to be one of them. I mean, come on! He's healthy, so why not return? So we're down to 5 spots. There have been rumors circulating that both Kevin Nash, who might be sporting his Diesel look, and Booker T will be indeed competing in the Royal Rumble match. Where the hell did that come from? I mean, really? I'm excited to see this, but it's all just rumors right now. If they do come back, that still leaves 3 spots. Could Christian, Evan Bourne, and Papa Shango be the last three? I can't WAIT until tomorrow night!
EDIT: Booker T, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Christian, and Kevin Nash are all in Boston. Christian was seen not wearing his sling, so he could wrestle tonight. Add Triple H, and there is one more spot, which will probably go to Cody Rhodes, if he decides to wrestle. If not, I wonder who will fill that spot? Now that we know all the entrants, it's time to decide the numbers they come in. I think Punk and Barrett would be a good 1 and 2. Or Cena and Barrett or Cena and Punk. Also, Daniel Bryan and Kofi, a member of Nexus and member of Corre. Who knows. I do know this is going to be a memorable Royal Rumble though. 5 returns in one night? It's going to be epic.

Royal Rumble predictions

With the Rumble only a couple of days away, it's time for some predictions. I don't really care about the divas division so I'll just focus on the 3 main matches.

Orton VS Miz should be a great match for the WWE Title. Their match on Smackdown a while back was great, so I'm expecting big things from these two. Since it's Wrestlemania season, this could go either way. I would rather see The Miz win here, retain his title at Elimination Chamber, and main event Wrestlemania and win there. It would show that The Miz has finally arrived. It would be amazing to see him overcome all those odds, but who knows. I'm more of a Miz fan right now, so I'll go with The Miz in this match.

Dolph Ziggler VS Edge for the World Title. I'm very excited to see how Ziggler does in his first World Title match. I'm pretty sure I called this match a couple of months ago. I said Ziggler was going to lose his IC Title because he didn't need it anymore and move to the big times. Now, he's got a chance to main event the grandest stage of them all with a victory over the Ultimate Opportunist. Also, Edge is banned from using his trademark Spear in this match. Will Ziggler win his first World Title with all the odds in his favor? Did Barrett do it? No, so I don't have much hope for Ziggler in this match. It should be a fantastic contest, but Ziggler winning, I don't know. I would love to see it, but I gotta go with Edge retaining.

The 40 Man Royal Rumble will probably be most of the show and it will probably start around 9:30. There are SO many potentials winners and surprise entrants this year. Will Bourne, Christian, Undertaker, and Triple H be ready to wrestle in the Rumble and more importantly, who will win? It's really a toss up this year. There's only one face who could win and the rest are heels. Cena is the face of course. CM Punk, Barrett, Del Rio, and Sheamus are my heels to win. IF I had to pick just one person to win, I would choose CM Punk. He has the most momentum going into the Rumble but he if he wins, I don't see what WWE will do at Mania with the WWE Title match. Who knows? After Sunday though, we'll have a good look at the WrestleMania main events. Don't believe me? In 2005, the final two, Cena and Batista, both were in there respective World title matches and WON. In 2006, the last three men in the Rumble were all in main event title matches that year. In 2007, the final two both got title matches at Mania. In 2008, the final two were both in the same match for the WWE Title. In 2009, the final two of the Rumble WERE the main event of WM that year. And last year, the final 4 were all in main events and they were Edge, Batista, Cena, and HBK. So what's my point? The final four will probably be featured in the headline matches at Wrestlemania. Keep an eye out. My final four include Punk, Cena, Barrett, and Del Rio, but that's a fantasy dream four. I'll have a post immediately following the event.

The Nexus and The Corre

Wade Barrett has a name for his new group, which is The Corre. Not better than Nexus, but whatever, at least it has a name now. Can't wait to see them dominate Smackdown. I'm pretty hyped for the Rumble this year. 40 men and there are many possible scenarios obviously. We could get a surprise entrant winner ala Edge and Cena from previous years. If they were going to do that with anyone, it would be Christian to set up the Edge/Christian WrestleMania match. Or Triple H, seeing as he hasn't had a match in 8 months and the fact he hasn't had the WWE Title in almost two years. Miz/Triple H could be a good WM main event, if they decide to keep Miz champion. Other winners include Cena, Punk, Sheamus, Wade Barrett, or Del Rio, all who have huge momentum going into the match. John Cena is just coming back from what could have been a Wrestlemania missing injury, CM Punk is easily becoming the top heel in WWE, Sheamus has already won the WWE Title twice in his rookie year, not mention the KOTR accolade, Barrett just jumped ship to Smackdown and already has his new group formed and ready to go, and Del Rio is the brightest rookie the WWE has seen in years. If any of those guys won, it would make sense, so those are my picks. If I had to pick one for each show, I would pick Punk for Raw and Del Rio for Smackdown, but who knows. We still have Elimination Chamber to go to as well. I could see Miz retaining and Ziggler winning the World Title at Rumble and have the young guys defend their titles in the EC. Have Miz defend against Cena, Orton, Sheamus, Morrison, and CM Punk. Take Morrison out if Triple H is available. Have Miz retain, setting up for Miz/Cena or Triple H. Have Ziggler defend against Edge, Barrett, Jackson, Big Show, and Mysterio. Have Edge win it back, just to give Ziggler a taste of the World Title then have Edge face Del Rio at Mania if Christian isn't healthy or do a Triple Threat with the three of them, I don't know. See? That's why I don't write for WWE because there is too many outcomes. Well, the Road to WrestleMania will be much more clear in 10 days.

A 40 Man Royal Rumble? Jesus!

40 men in the Rumble match? That's INSANE! Do they even have that many people to put in it? 40 deserving people? I mean, you got both Nexus factions, which equal about 9 superstars so I guess it makes sense. Then there's Cena, Morrison, Sheamus, Bryan, Tag champs, DiBiase, Del Rio, Rhodes, McIntrye, Kane, and many others. Hopefully, we'll see some surprise returns. We have a lot of injured superstars, like Triple H, Evan Bourne, Skip Sheffield, Undertaker, and Christian so I expect some of those to come out.

Another shocker with Punk's Nexus! FCW Heavyweight Champion Mason Ryan aka The Next Batista made his WWE debut as he joined The New Nexus. That guy is HUGE! He could run Nexus by himself if WWE wanted to. If Sheffield comes back, New Nexus WILL be unstoppable. Well, only 12 mote days until my favorite PPV of the year.

Two Nexus Factions?

Alright, I wonder what WWE is planning with this. On Raw, we got Punk's New Nexus and now on Smackdown, we got Barrett with Gabriel and Slater and now apparently Ezekiel Jackson has joined the group. WOW, Big Zeke with Barrett and the original Nexus? Sounds great. This is going to be amazing. When Sheffield comes back, I wonder where he will go. CM Punk's New Nexus needs him more so he better stay on Raw. Could we see a huge Nexus VS Nexus match at Mania? Or will we see Nexus join together again and truly dominate the WWE? Here's another good Nexus storyline, don't drop the ball WWE. Also, don't drop the ball with Ziggler/Edge. This is like when Kennedy faced Batista at the Rumble in 2007. They messed that up by not letting Kennedy win and then he just fell off after that. Just let Ziggler win the title, then lose at EC. Edge is going to be involved in the Smackdown main event at WM anyway so just let Ziggler get a 28 day reign or something. Whatever, can't wait to see Ziggler get his first title shot.

Starting the year off right WWE

The Year of the Newcomer Part 2 perhaps? Maybe. Dolph Ziggler lost his IC Title at this Tuesday's SD tapings, but then he became the #1 Contender for the World Title. Yes! It's about time! Dolph PROBABLY won't win the title in his 1st try but to see him getting pushed to becoming a main eventer is great. Also, the first Raw of the year was better than most Raw of 2010. Miz/Morrison have another great match and the Triple Threat Steel Cage was fantastic. Predictable winner, but a good match nonetheless. Del Rio appearing on Raw and he has now beaten Mysterio for the last time make this week even better. 2011 is starting off right!

Well, WWE did do something wrong. Wade Barrett is now exiled from Nexus and is apparently on Smackdown now. (sigh) Now Del Rio and Barrett are on the same show and only one can succeed. God I hope I'm wrong.
