Last post of the year

Well, 2009 is only 23 hours from being over and there were a lot of ups and downs this year. Like, the time my parents banned me from playing video games for three weeks. I blame them for why I never finished the new Prince of Persia game. Or when I promised my dad that I would get my driver's license. LMAO, that never happened. Two great things that happened this year was when I got a job and when I graduated from high school. While I'm currently debating my academic future, my job is pretty solid right now. Yeah, it's fast food, but it's a start. Hell, people see that you work for McDonalds and all kinds of doors open up. One of the worst things that happened this year for me was my Xbox 360 dying on my. It was sudden and it sucked MAJOR ass. I just got Dead Space from GameFly when it happened, so you can imagine how pissed I was. Lucky for me, it came back two weeks later and I didn't miss a beat.

Speaking of gaming, I've been trying to think of the best game I played in the last decade. So, to do that, I'm going to try and narrow it down to the best game I played that year. Now, I'm going by the year I played the game, not the year it came out. I'm always behind lol. That's what she said.
2000 - The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (honorable mention = Alundra LMAO)
2001 - Skies of Arcadia (a year AFTER is came out) (honorable mention = Shenmue)
2002 - Kingdom Hearts (honorable mention = Final Fantasy X)
2003 - Prince of Persia: Sands of Time (honorable mention = Zelda: Wind Waker)
2004 - Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne (honorable mentions = Paper Mario 2 and Baten Kaitos)
2005 - Dragon Quest VIII (honorable mentions = Shadow of the Colossus, Resident Evil 4, and God of War)
2006 - The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (honorable mention = Kingdom Hearts II)
2007 - Persona 3 (honorable mention = Raw Danger. Say what you want, I LOVED it.)
2008 - Persona 4 (honorable mention = No More Heroes)
2009 - Fallout 3 (honorable mention = Mario & Luigi 3, Dead Space, and Tales of Vesperia)
The last couple of years are pretty easy compared to the early years.
Well, you can see where my loyalty is at. Zelda, SMT, and RPGs. 6 out of 10 are turn based RPGs. I can't help it if I'm a RPG junkie. The hardest year to decide was 2005. RE4 was the first game I played in 05 and I thought there was nothing better than that. Then GOW came and BLEW my freaking mind away. The things Kratos did to enemies was INSANE! Then, Shadow of the Colossus came along and I fell in love again. The fact that the game only had 16 enemies didn't bother me one bit. It was still an awesome adventure. Dragon Quest VIII was the last game I played. I wasn't really a fan of the DQ series, but I loved Square-Enix games, so I decided to give it a try. It's still one of my favorite RPGs of all time. The story was great and I really liked how the main villain in the game wasn't the last boss. They actually fooled me. Dhoulmagus had all the makings of a last boss, but he wasn't. Well, 2005 was my favorite year for gaming this decade.

If I had to pick my top three games from this decade, it would be Fallout 3, Dragon Quest VIII, and of course, Persona 4. I know, where's MGS 4, GTA 4, Call of Duty Modern Warfare? Well, I haven't played either MGS 4 or COD and I thought GTA4 was WAY too realistic. This is just my honest opinion. These three games not only took the most time from me, but they also provided me with some of the most shocking and brutal moments in the last decade. For Fallout 3, the first time I saw Bloody Explosion in effect. I used VATS and aimed with a Shotgun. When I saw the body explode, my jaw hit the ground. One of the best moments I ever had playing a 360 game. I already explained DQ 8. Persona 4 had many moments where I felt bad for characters, laughed my ass off, and where I was completely shocked. I hated and loved the part where Nanako is in the hospital. It made me care for a character in a game for the first time ever. I also loved when everything came to light at the end. Who would've have thought Adachi was the criminal the whole time? And who would've have even guessed that the gas station attendant from the beginning of the game (for me, 65 hours earlier) was the one who gave the power to you? The game's ending was also bitter sweet, as the main character had to leave behind his new friends to go back home. I liked this ending much more than Persona 3's confusing ending. They are both good, it's just something about P4's ending that I love. Persona 4 is without a doubt, my favorite game in the last 10 years. You can say that Final Fantasy X and XII are the best two RPGs on the PS2, but I'll stick with the SMT series. I think it's funny that FF was Sony's premiere RPG franchise when SMT released 8 games on PS2 while FF had 4.

You know what 2009 was lacking? A next gen turn based RPG. I had my fill with Lost Odyssey in 2008, but there weren't too many this year was there? Was there even one? Yeah, there was Star Ocean and Magnacarta, but they weren't turn based. Is there ever going to be another turn based classic like Lost Odyssey on a next gen system? FF 13 looks amazing, but I don't think even that could capture the classic feel Lost Odyssey had.

I said 2005 was my favorite year of gaming in the last decade. 2010 looks like another promising year. We're starting 2010 with mother freaking Bayonetta. One of the most anticipated action adventure games of all time. It looks amazing. I played the demo and I can't wait until next week. Probably won't get it first day, but WOW. Oh, but that's not all in January. Darksiders and Dark Void are both coming out in the early weeks of January as well. But, the end of January is really where it's at. Whatever system you have, there's a big release the last week of January. PS3 fans will be treated to MAG, an amazing looking MMOFPS game. I would definitely play it if I had a PS3. 360 fans have the highly anticipated Mass Effect 2. Shepard is back again and this looks more amazing than the first one. The Wii is getting No More Heroes 2 the same week. This action packed sequel continues Travis Touchdown's story of trying to rise to the top, but this time, it's for revenge. If you're a fan of video games, the last week of January is for you.

February brings Dante's Inferno, for fans who couldn't get enough action goodness from Bayonetta. Bioshock 2 releases the same day. If you like story telling or just straight up action, you're bases are covered that week. PS3 fans are getting a great treat with White Knight Chronicles and then one of the games I want to play most this year Heavy Rain two weeks later. PS3 owners will finally feel like they're getting the upper hand in early 2010.

And on March 9th, 2010, I (and any other RPG junkie who didn't buy the Japanese version) will finally get my hands on FINAL FANTASY XIII. Easily the most anticipated RPG of all time, FF XIII will make its way to US shores. It promises to be one of the best RPGs of this generation. (does it have much competition?)

And that's only the first three months of 2010! We still got God of War 3, Alan Wake, Epic Mickey, Alpha Protocol, Arc Rise Fantasia, APB, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Dead Rising 2, Dead Space 2, Crackdown 2, Golden Sun DS, Lost Planet 2, I Am Alive, Metroid: Other M, Mega Man 10, hopefully Project Needlemouse, Prince of Persia, Rocket Knight, Super Mario Galaxy 2, The new Zelda on Wii (doubt it), The Grinder, The Last Guardian and many more. 2010 looks like an amazing year for gaming, maybe the best yet. January 2010 is like May for movie goers. Some many selections, so little money, lol.

Well, that's been my bit. Have a Happy New Year and God Bless anyone who is reading this. I'll post again probably on Saturday.

Recent gaming exploits

Over the last 5 days, I've bought 5 DS games, including all three Castlevanias for the DS, Black Sigil, and Henry Hatsworth. For some reason, I never played any of the DS Castlevanias, even though I'm a HUGE Symphony of the Night and Aria of Sorrow. I ran through Dawn of Sorrow and LOVED every minute of it. I liked Soma Cruz as a main character, but how the hell did he get two games to star in? Where's Alucard's 2nd game? I appreciate the fact that you get to play with him in Julius Mode in DOS, but I would love to see a 2D SOTN sequel. Master of the Night. Good title. Anyway, Portrait of Ruin and Order of Ecclesia are both pretty good entries into the Castlevania series. POR always scared because of the two main characters, but it works really well. OOE is great, but why do normal attacks take MP? That kind of annoys me. They're both pretty difficult though. Maybe I'm underleveled?

I'm thinking of picking up Darkside Chronicles or Dead Space: Extraction. DSE is cheaper but I REALLY loved Umbrella Chronicles. It's one of my favorite Wii games along with Zack and Wiki and No More Heroes, so I'm more inclined to buy it. But once again, DSE is cheaper and I can get the Perfect Shot with it. I really don't want to use the Wii Zapper with the game because it killed my hands when I played UC. I have the money to buy everything I want, but my parents will flip out if I did something like that. "You spending all that money on video games for yourself, but you didn't buy people anything for Christmas." I don't have time to hear that stuff, so I'll probably just buy one or the other.

SHEAMUS!

I know it has been a week already, but Sheamus!!! Holy crap! Did WWE really allow Cena to be beaten by a rookie? The guy who never backs down, who never quits? The guy who made Triple H and HBK tap out in back-to-back Wrestlemanias? I'm still in shock a week later. Sheamus and Drew both have big futures in WWE. Mark my words, Drew will be World Champion by Survivor Series 2010. Just my guess.

The Slammy Awards last week were horrible. They had two big matches and they ruined both of them. I'm really disappointed in them. It was more about entertainment than wrestling last week. And Sheamus didn't even wrestle. How dumb was that? The WWE Champion wasn't even in action his first night as champion. (Sigh) If WWE keeps this up, WWE is going to have a rocky 2010.

My next post (which I'm going to do later tonight) is going to be about my recent gaming exploits, which include ALL the Castlevanias on the DS, Henry Hatsworth, Black Sigil, and some 360 stuff.

A whole decade of gaming Part 1

In 2000, I was 9 years old, (10 after October) and I was still playing PS1 games, but I also had a N64 and a Dreamcast. I'll never forget the days of coming home from school and playing Sonic Adventure without a VMU. Basically, trying to beat the game in one sitting. Little did I know that Sonic wasn't the only character in the game. When I finally got a VMU, I easily beat the game. Later in 2000, I played Shenmue for the very first time and found it groundbreaking. I never played anything like it. That's one game I never replayed and I regret that. Skies of Arcadia came out in 2000, but I didn't play it until 2001, when I first played GTA III. Yes, I was only 11, but I loved the fact that I could do ANYTHING I wanted. I never had that much freedom with a game EVER. I loved SOA when I first played it. It was pretty difficult for me and a little scary at some points, (that black abyss place!) and it was one of the RPGs that made me a lifelong fan of the genre.

2002 was the year I got a Gamecube. The first two games I got was Sonic Adventure 2 and Super Smash Bros Melee. Melee was my favorite game on the system and I loved unlocking everything. Also, in 2002, I really got into Final Fantasy X. It came out at the end of the 2001, but my brother hogged the game until he beat it. It was the first FF game I really got into and it was crazy awesome. Thanks to that game, I became a huge fan of the FF series. I played FF 1-9 in the years to come. 2003 was the year for Zelda as I got the Wind Waker the first day it came out. Whatever your opinion is, I loved the game. The graphics were eye opening and it was pretty funny as well. Anytime a Zelda game comes out, it's always good. That is one series that has NEVER disappointed me. Can't say that for FF can I? Skip to 2004, a life changing year for me. Two games that stick out are Paper Mario 2 and Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne. I loved the first Paper Mario, so I was really excited when they decided to do another one. It surpassed the first one one every point and was so funny. The game was pretty tough and the last boss was one of the hardest in Mario history, it's probably my favorite Mario and GC ever. Nocturne. What can I say about the game that I haven't already? I saw it in Game Informer magazine and I noticed Dante was in it, but I already told my Mom I wanted Paper Mario for my birthday. I guess it was meant for me to play that game, because my uncle, who I NEVER talk to, gave me 65 bucks for my birthday, which was more than enough. I still remember the guy behind the counter telling my mom that this game was a little dark and that I should reconsider buying it, but, my awesome mom knows that I can tell the difference between what's real and what's not, so see bought it. I didn't play the game the first day I got it (which was a Sunday) because I had some work to do for school, but I TORE into it when I got home on Monday. I instantly saw that this game was not easy. 5 hours into the game, I met Matador, the boss from Hell. I tried everything to beat the stupid guy, but nothing worked. After 3 levels later, I won the battle by luck. My first save data for the game was ERASED BY THAT STUPID PS2 HOLIDAY DEMO DISC, so not only did I lose my SMT data, but my GTA San Andreas data. I went crazy and asked my mom to buy me the strategy guide for the game for Christmas. On my 2nd playthrough, I was ready for everything and anything. I know that a guide can ruin a game, but it didn't ruin it for me. Without out it, I couldn't face Lucifer or get through some of those dungeons (the park and the last dungeon were CRAZY confusing). Overall though, this experience made me not only a better gamer, it made me much more patient with things in life. The next four years were also exciting!

SHEAMUS!

WWE has been doing some crazy things as of late. Team Miz dominating at SS, Kofi Kingston pinning CM Punk and then Randy Orton, and now, Sheamus will meet John Cena for the WWE Title at TLC in a Tables match. Wait, did I really just type that? Sheamus, the Irish man who came to Raw a MONTH ago is about to face one of the top people in the company for the WWE Title at the last event of the year? Wow, they must have a lot of faith in Sheamus. I just blogged earlier today that Sheamus, Miz, and Drew should feud with DX and Cena, but I NEVER thought it would come true. Well, blessed be those who wait, Michael Scott. I would like to see a Sheamus victory, but I don't think that's going to happen. It should be the first match of the night.

The REAL main event of TLC will be the epic encounter between Jerishow and DX for the tag titles in a TLC match. Jericho and HBK will steal the show, since they are the masters of the ladder match. I think we'll finally see DX win tag team gold and it will probably be the show stealer of the night. I really want to see this match, but I'm more looking forward to Sheamus getting his first title match. Whether he gives Cena a hard fought match or gets completely squashed remains to be seen.

WWE can still do it

WWE proved to me that they put their best shows on their big four PPVs. If they could just do that on a regular basis, WWE could survive as a PG show.

Team Miz VS Team Morrison was an amazing way to start the show off. I thought Team Morrison was going to win, since, Miz won at Bragging Rights, but that was not the case. WOW, what a showing by the whole team. I'm surprised that three members survived from the team, and especially surprised that Sheamus and Drew were two of the three survivors. If anybody was going to survive, it would've been Swagger and Miz, but I was very impressed by Team Miz. I hope we see Miz, Sheamus, and Drew together on Raw tonight. WWE definitely needs to think of putting him on Raw and have them feud with Cena and DX. It would be good to see some young talent feud with some of the more established guys. Overall, a great match. It was one of my favorite matches of the night and one of the best booked matches of the year IMHO.

Batista VS Rey was exactly what I expected it to be, not much. It was just put on the show to fully establish Batista's heel turn, even though the fans were cheering HEAVILY for Batista. Ok match, but could've been better.

Team Kofi VS Team Orton. (Sigh) Another shocking moment. I KNEW that it was going to come down to Orton/Kofi at the end, but I was really surprised when Kofi hit TIP OUT OF NOWHERE and pinned Orton. Did he just pin CM Punk and Orton in one freaking night? If Kofi isn't WWE champion by next year, then this would've been for nothing. Good SS match, but Miz/Morrison was the better of the two.

The World Title match was exciting and predictable. I wanted Jericho to win, but of course, Taker won. I want to see Taker/Jericho at TLC now. Overall, good TT match. I wasn't expecting it to be as good as that was. I was surprised though that Big Show didn't use his power to get out of Hell's Gate. He's definitely strong enough so he could've gave him a powerbomb or something.

Team Mickie VS Team McCool...moving on.

The Triple Threat match for the WWE Title kept me on the edge of my seat. The beginning of the match got me excited. The SCM out of nowhere and gave me hope of a HBK victory. Of course, it didn't happen. Cena once again beat DX, this time, both in one night. I liked how this match was like three matches in one, and then was a Triple Threat collision at the end. Very good stuff by all three men. It seems like the theme of the PPV was the underdog overcoming the odds after the first two matches. Kofi PINNING two former World champions and Undertaker and Cena overcoming the odds and beating two top tag teams in the WWE. I hope Orton can put Kofi in his place tonight because he's looking incredibly WEAK, especially seeing how he was WWE Champion last month.

Gaming gaming gaming

Thanks to work, I've come into A LOT of games lately (Borderlands, Operation Darkness, Spectral Force 3, Enchanted Arms, and Silent Hill: Homecoming, and MagnaCarta 2) and I've been interested in nothing else but playing them.

The first game I really got into was Silent Hill: Homecoming. SH:H was the 2nd SH game I played and it was really good. The atmosphere creeped me the hell out and I thought the story was average. The fact that Alex was crazy the whole reminded me of Dead Space, but I still liked it. Also, the fact that Alex was way too strong doesn't make the game bad, it just makes it different. I think Double Helix games did a wonderful job, and this is the 2nd 360 game I got 1000 Gamerscore in. Lol, Hard Mode is too easy with the Laser Pistol. That weapon makes every enemy too easy, even Scarlet, who I thought was the hardest boss in the game. Silent Hill: Homecoming is an amazing game and I'm now a Silent Hill fan. I can't wait until Silent Hill: Shattered Memories comes out.

I also bought Nostalgia after returning SH: H to Gamestop. I don't know why people say it's a bad game. Just because it pays homage to old school RPGs, doesn't make it bad. I love the game. In this day and age, I need a little old school RPG to deal with these corny new ones. I have 5 hours in the game and it's just great to play.

Well, we now have a release date for Final Fantasy XIII, March 9th, 2010. We're only 3 and a half months away from the biggest RPG release of this generation. I don't think I'm going to look at much content on the game because it's going to make me want the game a lot more than I do right now. I really hope that we get a midnight release for the game. If Modern Warfare 2 can get it, I don't see why FF 13 can't get one, seeing how not only is the series much better than the COD series, but much more respectable. How much controversy has Final Fantasy produced in the last 20 years? None? How much has COD drawn? Too much. The beginning of 2010 for games is going to be great. No More Heroes 2, Mass Effect 2, Tatsunoko VS Capcom, Fragile, hopefully Resonance of Fate, and now FF XIII. Good stuff.

I haven't talked about wrestling too much because it's pissing me off. RAW needs to stop this guest host stuff and get a permanent GM now. They also need blood again, but that's not going to happen. Another thing I hate is how the WWE Title has changed hands 3 times in Sept to Oct. It's stupid. Why couldn't Randy Orton have kept the title to the Iron Man match and then lost it? At least it would've been a 4 month reign. Now that Cena holds the title, he's going to hold it until Wrestlemania 26, easily.

Survivor Series is looking pretty good. I'm liking the classic elimination matches this. Both of the male elimination matches are their best in years,(specifically the heel teams) probably since 2006. Team Miz VS Team Morrison should start the show of. Team Miz is probably the best of all the teams, in terms of the future on WWE. You got Miz, Sheamus, Drew, Swagger, and my boy, Dolph Ziggler. I can see two tag teams coming out of this match if they do win, them being, Swagger/Sheamus and Ziggler/Drew. Man, that team just oozes future WWE champions. Hopefully, Ziggler can dethrone Morrison on Friday, so Miz's team can have both the mid card titles.

Orton's team is nice, but I think Legacy and The Hart Dynasty should have came together and made The Hart Legacy. It could've been The Hart Legacy VS Kofi, World's Strongest Tag Team and Cryme Tyme. Then, they could've did another Survivor Series elimination match with team captains Batista and Mysterio. It could've been Batista, Regal, CM Punk, Burchill, and Ryder VS Mysterio, Christian, R-Truth, Hurricane, and Yoshi Tatsu. At least they could've gotten more superstars on the PPV.

Both triple threat matches look cool, but I don't think either champion is losing because that would break up two of the top tag teams in the business. Cena and Taker will probably win and then Taker will probably face CM Punk in a TLC rubber match and I haven't a clue for Cena. Cena has one TLC match and it was pretty good, but the only person I think he would have a good TLC match with is HBK, but I think DX and Jeri-Show will end their feud at TLC, so I don't know. I can't see Swagger or Sheamus getting a title shot yet, so who knows?

Magnacarta II and Borderlands = Crazy RPG Goodness

I don't care what anyone says, all Borderlands is is Fallout 3 with online co-op. I didn't say that was a bad thing though. It's an awesome game, no doubt, and I'm loving every minute of it. I want to at least get through most of the game before I got online and rely on other people to help finish quest for me. That's one reason why I hate games nowadays. What happened to great single player experiences? It's still alive in Assassin's Creed and Bioshock but multiplayer is ruining single player games. At least I can do everything myself in MC 2, which is one hell of a game. I just got on disc 2 on Sunday and I'm really look for the story to get crazy. Why does Juto keep having dreams of himself hurting Zephie? It's going to be pretty good. I just got my first co-op technique with Juto and Zephie and it was AMAZING. First, the damage was sick and it just looked amazing. I wonder who else Juto combines his attacks with? A Crocell/Juto attack would be EPIC

So much gaming, so little time

Well, I bought MagnaCarta 2 last week and all I can say is: Choice well made! MC 2 is one of my top three RPGs on 360 along with Vesperia and Lost Odyssey. It's miles ahead of Tears of Blood. This is what I wanted FF XII to be. While the main characters are cliche, I love the game. I'll probably give it a proper review after I beat it. I'm also playing Bionic Commando and Earth Defense Force 2017. EDF 2017 is crazy. It's like a cheesy 1950s movie. Big ants, giant robots, and UFOs. It's pretty entertaining though. Bionic Commando is alright. It's a lot more violent than I anticipated but it's pretty good. I also bought Tales of Symphonia II when I bought MC 2 and I'm glad I waited until the price dropped. It's a pretty good game, but why did they make the main character such a wimp? His parents were killed by Lloyd! That should put some fire under his ass and man up. And why doesn't he try to get with Marta? Is it because he doesn't know what to do with a girl? (sigh) Japanese characters man I tell ya.

I just got Borderlands and I'm about to get some game time with that.

HOLY CRAP: I want to play Epic Mickey

Before I talk about Epic Mickey, this has been a good week for retro games. On Monday, they announced a sequel to one of my favorite games as a kid, Rocket Knight Adventures, called Rocket Knight. It's going to be released next year for the PSN and XBLA. That's going to be a first day buy for me. That's another awesome Sega Genesis game that I never beat as a kid, along with Castlevania: Bloodlines and Beyond Oasis (which I beat the other day).

Ryo Hazuki is going to be in the new Sonic and Sega All Star Racing game. I couldn't believe it when I read it this morning, but this shows that Sega hasn't forgotten about good ole Ryo. Could this mean a Shenmue sequel is in the works or is Sega just being teases? I really hope this isn't the last time we see Ryo.

Now, to Epic Mickey. I can't wait until Game Informer unveils it later this month. My main concern for the game is combat. Is Mickey going to whip out a Keyblade or is he going to use a paintbrush? I have really high hopes for this game, mainly because the main villain is an old school Disney character named Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. He's so old I really haven't heard of him. The fact that Disney is using an old villain to go against Mickey gets me all hyped up for this game. I just want to see or hear about some gameplay and I'll be good.

With my birthday coming up, (Monday) I'm about to get another game. Brutal Legend and MagnaCarta II both come out on the 13th and are both games I want to get, but, I'm only getting $100, and we all know games are $60 nowadays. I'm leaning more towards MC II, since I'm an RPG head and because I also want to have some money left over for Nostalgia when it comes out two weeks later. I'll probably wait for BL, since when I get my paycheck on the 20th, I REALLY want to get Borderlands. We'll see what happe s in the next couple of weeks.

Speaking of Nostalgia, I'm freaking swapped with DS games. I got Devil Survivor, OG Saga, Mario and Luigi 3, and Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. My friend is getting me Professor Layton 2 for my Bday and I'm getting Nostalgia on the 27th. Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks comes out on Dec. 7th, so that's my deadline for those 6 DS games. I'm almost done M&L3, but the other three I'm just getting started. Damn GameFly games, taking up my time.

Fall TV is back

Good news for me. Fringe, The Office, Parks and Rec, Heroes, and Dexter are all back or will be back by the end of the month. New shows like FlashForward, The Vampire Diaries, and Community have all gotten my attention. It looks to be a good autumn with all these good shows.

For me, NBC has the best line up. Parks and Rec, then The Office, and then Community. Parks and Rec isn't as good as The Office (clearly) but that doesn't mean that the show is bad. It's pretty clever. The cold open for the first episode of Season 2 was hilarious. We need more of Amy Poehler singing old rap songs. The show needs some work, but I can't wait until it becomes a big hit like The Office.

What can I say about The Office that hasn't been said? It's funny, clever, and whimsical. It's one of the best shows on television. Now, in it's 6th season, what is left to be done? Pam's pregnant, so we can look forward to a little tuna running around pretty soon. Jim is now co manager of Dunder Mifflin Scranton with Michael, so I bet we can expect those to butt heads a lot. I'm still waiting for them to do some storylines with the new receptionist Erin. We'll see what will happen. The Office is my new favorite show on TV (since Reaper was canceled) so I'm really looking forward to every episode that comes on. PARKOUR! LMAO

Community is DEFINITELY a great show. Joel McHale is excellent and it's a great addition to the Thursday night line-up. Abed and Troy rapping at the end of episode 2 was CLASSIC and I want to see more of those two together.

I've been watching Shuffle! since yesterday and I just finished the show a couple of minutes ago and I was very pleased with the entire series. The first 8 episodes were all funny and cheery, but after that, things started getting very crazy. First, it began with Primula being an artificial lifeform, then Kaede was going crazy, then Sia having an alternate personalty. Those storylines took me through a loop. Then, Rin slits his damn wrist at the end and blood spews everyone. I'm watching like, What the hell has happened to my cutesy anime? Overall though, it was a great anime. I really didn't know who Rin was going to end up with. At first, I was leaning towards Sia because she had the best personalty, but then I jumped towards Kaede because they lived together, BUT after I saw what she was doing to Rin, I jumped 100% towards Asa. I'm glad those two got together at the end. I thought this was going to be one of those animes that leave you hanging and let the watcher decide who the main character got with in the end. It's good to see the protagonist fall in love with the girl he wanted.. I have to find more series like this.

100th Post and I'm the only one who reads this lol

Well, I've been playing some Afro Samurai and Mario/Luigi 3 for the last week. Afro Samurai was a generic hack n slash, nothing really special. The music in that game was AWESOME though. I had to download the whole soundtrack because it was so good, but other than the music, the game failed on several other levels. It was boring and short. I can't see how people can buy these games and be satisfied. That's why I'll continue to be a RPG buff.

I started playing Super Smash Bros Brawl again and I forgot how fun it was. My friend and I like put the damage ratio down and just play with 10 lives on. We have some pretty epic fights when we do. I was playing as Luigi (WeeGee) and he was playing as Zelda (one of our big rivalries we got going on. Three others we got are Game&Watch/Lucas, Snake/Ike, and Marth/Sonic) I (barely) won with the good ole Negative Zone and the WeeGee forward and A.

I'm almost done Mario and Luigi 3. I got 18 hours in it and I have all three Star Cures. I'm glad that this one has a reference to the former Mario and Luigi with those Shroob monsters. Damn, those guys were tough, doing 60 damage a hit. I had to rely on dodging all the attacks, getting excellent on my attack and fill my gauge up so I could do twice amount of the damage. It worked and I got that new attack. I want to try and beat all the arena challenges before I beat the game though.

You know how Jesus turned water into wine?

And how Edge turned the World Heavyweight Title into the WWE Title at No Way Out 2009? Well, I went to Gamestop on Tuesday and traded 11 games in. The biggest two I traded in were Punch-Out and Professor Layton 1 and mainly thanks to those two, I was able to buy Mario and Luigi 3 and reserve Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days. two great looking original RPGs for the DS.

I've been playing Mario and Luigi 3 for about 6 hours and it's an absolute blast. Nintendo did not disappoint with this one. This is one RPG series that knows what it is and how to improve on the areas it has messed up on before. In this one, we get to play as our favorite villian (is this the 3rd title we get to play as Bowser? Super Mario RPG and Super Paper Mario right?) who inhaled both the brothers. So far, I've only gotten to where Bowser just got into his first castle fight. So far, I like playing as Bowser more than playing with the baby bros in Partners in Time. Bowser is uber strong. The best thing about the game for me is the boss battles. I love how Bowser can inhale a smaller part of the boss and then the brothers will fight him. Good stuff. I'm going to play this pretty hard until Kingdom Hearts comes out then three weeks later Nostalgia. This is a pretty good time for RPG fans.

It was bound to happen right?

Well, Cena made Orton quit at Breaking Point and won his 4th WWE Title and overall 6th. Of course, Orton beat Cena within an inch of his life and he still won, but that's Cena gimmick right? Overcome all the odds. Now we have Orton VS Cena in a Hell In A Cell match which should finally end their feud. It's only the 2nd HIAC match in history that doesn't feature Triple H or Undertaker, which is insane. Also, this is Cena's first. This should be a good match and a great feud ender, and I hope these guys go all out.

Legacy shocked the hell out of me with a SUBMISSION victory over DX. Now, in their third match in three months, they face off in a HIAC. DX won their last HIAC against The McMahons and Big Show so they're the favorites. This match should put Legacy over as a top faction on Raw, so I wouldn't be surprised if they won, but also, DiBiase's movie The Marine 2 is coming out so I'm expecting a falling out of The Legacy sooner or later.

CM Punk won because of a screw job at Breaking Point, It's all but confirmed that CM Punk will face Taker in Hell In A Cell, but, with Batista on Smackdown, will he be involved in the match somehow? So much for seeing Orton/Cena/Batista Triple Threat at Survivor Series. So, WWE is going to have three Hell In A Cell matches and NONE of them are going to have blood? (Sigh) I just hope they're all as good as Edge VS Taker at Summerslam 08.

Making up for lost time

Well, thanks to God, I got my Xbox 360 back on Friday. I finally got to play Wanted, Stranglehold, and pick up where I was in Dead Space. I beat Wanted twice in one day. It was WAY too short, but overall, it was a pretty good game. I'm almost done Stranglehold and Dead Space, but I'm trying to hold off so I can send Wanted back and get something else in the mail. I put Fight Night Round 4 on the top of my list. I want to get Batman, but of course, it being a popular game, I won't play it until January lol.

Dead Space is REALLY starting to creep me the hell out. I beat the Leviathan the other day and that thing was probably the SCARIEST boss I ever fought in ANY game hands down. It was so disgusting looking and I was actually scared to fight it. I can't even imagine what the last boss looks like. I don't want to think about it. Anyway, Dead Space is a GREAT new IP and I hope that there are more games from the series and I mean actual sequels or games that have the same gameplay style, not a cool light gun game. I'll probably beat it tomorrow or Friday, but it's definitely a great experience, just like Fallout 3.

Summerslam 2009 was MUCH better than last year's. Dolph Ziggler/Mysterio, DX/Legacy, Cena/Orton, and Punk/Hardy were definitely highlights of the night. Ziggler shouldn't have lost that IC Title match. It was a great back and forth match, but Mysterio shouldn't have won with a top rope hurricanrana or however you spell it. With Morrison winning the IC Title, I hope Ziggler will continue his pursue for the championship and actually win it.

DX VS Legacy was the shocker of the night. I thought that DX was going to squash Legacy, but they really put up a good fight against the veterans. I knew DX was going to win, but it was good to see a back and forth match. It will probably be the best tag team match of this year, unless their match at Breaking Point is better.

Orton VS Cena was the craziest match of the night. I thought going into the match up that Cena was going to win. I mean, why else would they give Cena a title match? When the DQ finish came up, I laughed so hard because it reminded me what he did at NWO 2008, but then the match was restarted. THEN, Orton gets counted out, but the match is restarted. THEN, Orton wins using the ropes, BUT the match is restarted AGAIN. Finally, Orton laid Cena out with a RKO in the ring for the victory. I was on the edge of my seat during the whole match. Between this and their match at SS 07, I think their first one was better, but the SS 09 was still pretty good.

CM Punk VS Hardy was a good TLC match, It didn't have a lot of spots, but it was a good last PPV match for Hardy. I was hoping for a GTS off the ladder through a table, but I was left holding my breath. It's good to see the Undertaker back and I hope that they're feud will be good.

With all this publicity of Taker/HBK, when are they going to have the epic rematch? I would love to see Taker win the World Title and then HBK challenge him at Survivor Series. That would be a great thing to see.

What happened to hard achievements in games? I've had my 360 back for about a week and some change and I've gotten over 3000 GS in over 5 games. I don't think that achievements should unlock for just beating a each mission. For beating a game, yes, but each mission, hell no. Achievements should go for things you go out of the way to do, like kill a certain number of enemies or beat a certain part of the game in a certain amount of time. I think RPGs have the best range for achievements, but of course, I'm biased.

God damn it! My 360 is done

Well, it was bound to happen eventually, but I didn't think it would happen so soon. Yesterday was actually my 10 month anniversary with my 360 lmao. Ah, this sucks. I JUST got Dead Space yesterday. I only completed up to Chapter 3 and it was just getting good. I got Stranglehold and Wanted: Weapons of Fate coming in the mail this week and now I have to wait until at least September to play them. The only good thing about this is that I can go back to PS2 gaming. Guess it's time to replay Persona 3 and Wild Arms 5. Yay! This is going to be a LONG 30 days.

Ah, my first Xbox 360. I'll never forget you. The first game I played on you was Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. Then, I got an RPG slew of games, like Eternal Sonata, Blue Dragon, and Lost Odyssey. Who could forget when I first played Fallout 3 back in March? It was an amazing experience and I'll never forget. I was just getting my first taste of Dead Space when you decided to mess up. Oh well, life will go on without you.

RIP October 12th, 2008 - August 12th, 2009

Good Summerslam ahead

Right now, both championship matches are WAY better than last time. I mean, The Great Khali VS Triple H and CM Punk VS JBL? What were they smoking? Randy Orton VS John Cena IS a rematch from SS 2007, but I welcome it with open arms. Their first feud ended the wrong way. Remember? Cena won at SS, Orton won by DQ at Unforgiven and they were suppose to have a match at No Mercy 07 but Cena got injured (thank God). They tried to continue the feud at NWO 2006, but it didn't work out so I'm glad to see these two at it again. Hopefully, Orton prevails and then feuds with HBK, so he can finally win another World Title, but if Cena won, I wouldn't be TOO mad because a Cena/Swagger feud could be pretty good. Cryme Tyme VS Jericho and Big Show will be a borefest. I hope the titles go to Cryme Tyme so Jericho can be a main eventer on SD. Dolph Ziggler VS Mysterio should be good. Their first match was probably the 2nd best match of the night. I guess it was a try out match, just to see if he could put on a big main event kind of match since it was AFTER the epic Triple Threat rematch and right before the World Title match. I can see Ziggler winning now and Mysterio going on to feud with Punk for the title. Yup, I think CM Punk is going to win his 3rd World Title (or 4th if you count the ECW Title). That will probably be the main event. Damn, they main eventing for the 4th straight PPV (counting Extreme Rules). A TLC Match is a great way to end their feud since they really don't HATE each like a Orton/HHH, but it's still dangerous enough to excite the fans. It should be a show stealer and can maybe compete with the awesomeness of HBK VS Undertaker. Probably not but a guy can hope. Other matches will probably be Kofi VS either Swagger or Bourne, Legacy VS DX (watch the person he called was Flair, I would die!), and maybe Mickie VS Gail. I'm really looking forward to Orton/Cena and Punk/Hardy. Even though I don't like Cena, he does put on some good matches especially against HBK. We'll see what happens right?

Saints Row 2 was awesome

Man, SR2 was great! It was so much better than the original. The ending was kind of corny though. 1's cliffhanger ending can't be beaten. I'm just upset that they didn't put Julius in the main part of the story. At least they put him into the game. Well, I guess the main character is out to get Dex next. Since 3 will probably be the last one in the series, the police chief is going to get it as well. I can't wait to play 3 now!

Getting 200.6% in Symphony of the Night = IMPOSSIBLE!

So, for so reason, I started playing SOTN again and for the first time ever, I'm trying to get 200.6% and get the achievement, so I can finally say that I did it. Well, out of 1890 rooms in the castle, I have 1885. I know one of the rooms, and that is the where the final battle takes place. The other four are a mystery to me. I can't for the life of me get the top part of the chapel in the inverted castle. It won't become uncovered and become sharp. I've looked over both maps and I just don't know what room I'm missing, The worst part is that I have no camera or anything to take a picture and post it somewhere to get help. (Sigh) It's late. I'll try again in the morning. Sometime this weekend, I should be playing Tomb Raider: Legend and Saints Row 2. I can't wait to finally play SR2. I've been dying to continue the story, I remember one of the close members of the family actually turned out to be a cop and the head of the family set you up. I can't wait to continue that.

I think I found my favorite fight in TOV. I probably mentioned this before but it's definitely Yuri VS Flynn. I've created a separate save file for it and play it anytime I want to hear that awesome boss music and just to own Flynn. I love getting the Secret Mission each time because it makes me feel that Flynn has no chance at stopping Yuri.

As for favorite characters in the game, Alexei and Zagi are my two favs. You fight Zagi 5 TIMES. That's got to be a record or at least a tie with someone else. How many times do you fight Seymour in FFX? 4 or 5? I can't remember, but I just like how Zagi didn't really have much to do with the story, He just wanted to kill the man that made him bleed, That's pretty crazy if you ask me. Alexei's a great character because he has Wesker's voice. Anybody who has Wesker's voice is made of epic.

Check out the SpeedGamers!

Right now, the Speed Gamers are playing Final Fantasy for a whole week for charity. Currently, they're on FF7 and still have to do 9, 4, 8, 10, and 12! Go to thespeedgamers.com to support them! They're really giving gamers out there a good name. There original goal was 20,000 but they surpassed that and raised it to 50,000! They have made more money than are their marathons combined. Check them out!

Well, Godfather 2 is completed

First of all, dang! The game was MUCH shorter than Godfather 1. I beat it in 12 hours. It took me 33 hours to become Don of NYC in the original. It was probably because of your family members. In Godfather 1 on PS2, you were alone in your battle. You had to take over all the businesses and warehouses by yourself. In this one, I had three guys helping me at all times. There was never a hard part in the game. Even when I was taking over the last compound, I didn't feel intimidated at all because I knew if I died, my medic would come revive me. Wow, what a difference between those two. I guess that the original Godfather game is better than the sequel.

I just got Virtua Tennis 3 today, so I guess I'm pretty lucky that I beat Godfather 2 when I did.

Completely done on my first file on Vesperia

Well, I completed the EX Dungeon. The Traitor to Heaven wasn't as bad as I thought, probably because I was on Level 101. His Mystic Arte was beastly. Killed everyone except Estelle. I had to make him pay for that. After that, I ran over to the coliseum beat the 100 Man Melee with Yuri, Estelle, and Judith, and finally challenged the 200 Man Melee. I lost the first two times because of the Stone status effect, but the third time was indeed the charm. Thanks to Final Gale and Abyssion, I beat it. I got hit with the Killer of Heroes' Mystic Arte (Used a Magic Lens on him) but I survived. Kratos put up a hell of a fight, but I had to win. I played it again with the Dhaos Cape equipped and it just wasn't fair. Dhaos Blast is too damn powerful. I see why you can't learn it. Well, I clocked in just a little over 70 hours and I'm now going to put my full attention on my EX file.

I love Tales of Vesperia EX Game

Wow, I'm on LVL 32 and I haven't even met Karol yet. I'll be on LVL 200 in no time. I decided to continue with my good file while I play my EX file. I won the 100 Man Melee with Yuri with 3 of the invitation letters. Man, Nan, Tison, the twins and Flynn, all in one battle. Flynn almost got me with his combos, but thanks to Abyssion, 9 hits and a Tiger Blade and he was done. Now, I have to beat it with Estelle and someone else (probably Rita or Judith) and beat this EX Dungeon so I can do the 200 Man Melee. Wow, I still have a lot to do in that game. After I'm done all that, I can go back to Devil Survivor.

I'll be getting Godfather 2 and Virtua Tennis 3 this week. Can't wait to play those!

Another 360 RPG bites the dust

Well, just beat Tales of Vesperia with a little over 60 hours. First of all, WOW. 60 hours for 26.99 is an absolute steal IMO. Star Ocean lasted me 55 hours, and that was after I completed one of the optional dungeons. Second, the last boss fight was pretty good. I'm more of an Alexei fan but Duke was a great opponent. His third form was a complete cheat. I don't want to fight that guy on Unknown at all. I loved the part when you got the chance to play with Flynn. I would have definitely played with him as much as I did with Yuri. I also liked the boss fight with Flynn. It felt right that it was one on one. Flynn threw everything he had at Yuri and Yuri still beat him. Gotta love that friendship they have. Now, time to get to the con of the whole game, the ending. We beat Duke and Duke helps Yuri defeat the Adeaphagos. The crew cheers and then the game ends. That's it? No post game Yuri/Estelle hook-up? What happened to everyone now that all the blastia was gone? It just didn't feel right. Oh well, great game, bad ending. Story of my freakin life. Now, to take the 100 Man Melee and the EX Dungeon! Now I hear there's a 200 Man Melee. What the hell? Good thing Abyssion is super strong. I checked its stats after I beat the game and it had triple the aatack of the last weapon I had on. I wonder if it's possible to get it to straight 9s? I'm going to try after I GRADE farm a little. Thank God for Rita's Tidal Wave trick for 50+ GRADE a battle. Freakin sweet! I'm going to definitely get 10x EXP so I can be at LVL 90 when I face Barbos. It's going to be so funny. I wonder how long this EX Dungeon will take. I probably won't even start an EX Game until Monday. Oh well, this should be fun.

It's been a gaming summer

So, I brought Devil Survivor this past week and wow, I found Nocturne for the DS. The DS already has so many RPGs, but somehow, Devil Survivor has managed to stand out among the rest, just like OG Saga did. Atlus produces another his with this game and I wouldn't be surprised if this was the best game on DS this year. I still have to play Mario and Luigi 3 and Nostalgia, but DS just matches what I like together.

Tales of Vesperia is really getting good. I know I'm almost at the end since I got the "airship" of the game, so I can go around and do what I want. I can't wait to level up and try the 100 Man Melee. I've beaten 30 and 50, so I'm going to continue with the story a little more and than I'll try the 80 and 100. That's turning out to be my 2nd favorite RPG on the system, of course behind Lost Odyssey. 3rd would be Star Ocean IV probably.

Night of Champions is coming up. Orton VS Triple H VS Cena II should be a good main event. I really want The Miz to get into that match. Maybe down the line he'll get his opportunity, but I guess the big boys are up now. Edge is apparently injured so I guess Legacy or The Colons are going to be tag champs. That sucks that Edge is injured, but it's good for SD, since more people will be in the main event picture, like Dolph Ziggler. Oh well, I'm not good at predicting WWE anymore, ever since Backlash.

Good Bash

The Bash was full of surprises and good matches. I definitely thought that Jericho and Mysterio stole the show. Those two work really well together and it was a good way to end their feud. I'm upset that Legacy lost, but what about Edge and Jericho!? That was the biggest shocker of the night. They will hold those titles for a while. I hope they break the titles up and just keep the WWE Tag Titles and give the World Tag Titles back to Raw. That would be great for Legacy. CM Punk is slowly becoming one of my favorite wrestlers after last night. I'm expecting an actual heel turn by Night of Champions or right before SummerSlam. The 3 Stages of Hell match was corny. I'm mad that the first two falls were over in 8 minutes. I saw no point in the match. If they hate each other so much, why didn't they have a Hardcore, Hell In A Cell, and then the Stretcher Match? It would have made much more sense and then end their feud right there. Overall, The Bash was ok. Here's my Night of Champions card based on what happened last night:

Orton VS Cena VS Triple H VS The Miz
CM Punk VS Jeff Hardy
Dolph Ziggler VS Rey Mysterio
Tommy Dreamer VS Jack Swagger
Edge and Jericho VS The Colons
That's all I got right now.

Damn, not MJ

Well, music is now dead with the death of Michael Jackson. Wow, he died right before his last tour. That's the real messed up part about it. If he died after his tour, it would haven seemed more fitting, since he would have been on stage one last time. Well, whatever, the King of Pop has passed away, but he'll reign forever.

The Bash is this weekend, but I'm not really excited for it. Punk VS Hardy will probably steal the show, being the second meeting between them, if you count Extreme Rules. Hopefully, Punk will cheat to win and become fully heel. A heel CM Punk could be great for Smackdown. I'm telling you, CM Punk VS Undertaker would be great. Is is me or is Edge not on The Bash? But, for some reason, Dolph and Khali are featured. I'm all for Dolph's push, but are they serious? WWE must be really confused. Going to Raw, Legacy is about to dominate. After Legacy wins the Unified Tag Team Titles, they should separate them and keep the World Tag Titles. Then, the WWE Tag Titles could be won by the Hart Dynasty. I wonder when WWE are going to do something between Legacy and The Hart Dynasty.
Getting to Orton, the Three Stages of Hell match doesn't seem that great. For a feud that big, the first match shouldn't have been a regular wrestling match. It should off went like this: A Street Fight, A Hell In A Cell, and then a Stretcher Match. It would have made much more sense. I just hope Triple H doesn't win the WWE Title just yet. I would like to see Orton's title reign stretch to No Mercy or Survivor Series but that's being optimistic. What will probably happen is a Fatal Four Way at SummerSlam between Orton VS Triple H VS John Cena VS The Miz. I wouldn't be surprised if Miz is WWE Champion by the end of the year. He's involved in a high profile feud and if he actually beats Cena clean this weekend, he'll definitely get a title shot later. Whatever WWE does, it probably won't shock anyone.

No More Heroes 2 is sounding good

I was just looking up on No More Heroes 2, because I have that kind of time, and they said that Travis has dropped down to rank 51. 51? Dang, that's a FAR way down. I would love to face 50 bosses in this game, but I won't get my hopes up. Maybe we'll get at least 20 out of it. Maybe we'll finally get to fight that woman Sylvia. I know that she has to be a good fighter. I wonder what happened to Henry? Maybe a rematch is in store for Travis and Henry? That would be a great way to start the whole game off. January 2010 can't come any sooner.

A weird day indeed

It's been an up and down kind of day. First, some things happened in my household that was less than favorable. For some reason though, it actually motivated me to talk to the girl I like and tell her how I feel. I did that and then talked to her for a hour. I'm not getting my hopes, since she has a boyfriend, but we'll see how it goes from there. After that great conversation, I continued my play through of Mirror's Edge on Hard Mode and without shooting anybody. It was hard work, but I finally did it two hours after I started. Now, I'm just relaxing back and waiting for my food to get here. I have no idea in the world what I'm doing tomorrow. I'll probably just hang in the house for day. I just lost my desire to get a job after what happened in the beginning of my day. Whatever, I'll overcome it.

Mirror's Edge, Steal Princess, Blood Will Tell, etc

Man, it's been a crazy gaming week. I got Blood Will Tell and the Devil May Cry Collection on Wednesday. BWT is one of my favorite hack and slash games. I think it's the story that really got me. I got Mirror's Edge and Steal Princess from Gamefly on Friday. SP is pretty fun, but I haven't had much time to dive right into it. Mirror's Edge is really great. I just beat it this morning, but it was still a fun game. Now, I'm going try to beat it on hard mode and without using a gun. Looks like I'll never beat it again. Along with Vesperia, MS Saga, and Steambot, I got a lot of games to play with no time. Oh, I also got Indigo Prophecy on the Xbox Live Originals. One of my favorite games from last generation. Well, I'm off to go play those games. The next time I type a blog, it'll be on my new laptop!

Great day

Well, I graduated today and it was great. It was about to rain, so they sped the whole ceremony up, which meant, I could get home to watch Raw on time, which I did. How bout my boy Orton? 5 time world champion now. He just keeps getting better and more calculating. Orton VS Triple H in the Last Man Standing match should be good next week. Hopefully, Orton doesn't get injured right? The Triple Threat match stole the the show. I'm liking Punk as this tweener wrestler. I like him even more. Well, I guess I'll watch Conan O Brien and then go to sleep!

Sunday, June 14, 2009

Thoughts before graduation

Well, it's finally here. Graduation. I'm a little nervous about the whole ordeal, but I'm happy that it is happening. I just hope that I'm back before Raw starts. I can't be missing the Triple Threat or the Fatal Four Way. This past Friday, I got Steambot Chronicles, MS Saga, and Tales of Vesperia. It was kind of like a pre graduation gift, since I'm getting a laptop soon. I've played both SC and MSS, but I only beat SC. I like SC because of what you can do in the game. I can be a total jerk or I could be a goody goody. I plan on doing a lot of different things around this time though. I only played MS Saga for 7 hours last time I had it, and I sent it back because I wanted something else. It took me three years to get it back and once again, I haven't played it that much. On Tuesday, though, I'll have enough time for it. TOV is great. It feels so good to play another JRPG on 360. Now by me playing TOV, I think I've played every JRPG on the 360 that is currently out. I want to play Resonance of Fate when it comes out. That looks like a hit, but let me get back to TOV. So far, I'm only 3 hours in and I'm still just trying to get use to the battle system. I've played mostly every other Tales game out in the US (except for Destiny II and the one on PSP), but I haven't played one since Abyss came out, so I'm definitely rusty, but thanks to Star Ocean IV, I think I'll manage. I hope the story line picks up pretty soon, but if the story isn't all that great, like SO4, the gameplay will make up for it. I loved just fighting in SO4. That reminds me, I haven't fought the Ethereal Queen yet. Maybe I'll get on that this summer.
This is the list of games that I plan to complete by the end of the year
Xenosaga 2 and 3
Star Ocean 3
Mana Khemia (maybe I'll get two when it's released)
MS Saga
Steambot Chronicles (as a Bloody Mantis and as a good guy)
Tales of Vesperia
Blue Dragon (I STILL haven't beaten that)
Super Robot Taisen OG Saga Endless Frontier
That list is going to continue as I get new games. Damn, I'm a RPG junkie. ALL of those games are RPGs. What can I say, I love them. I know a couple of games that are going to be on that list in the next couple of months. They are, Black Sigil, Nostalgia (definitely on by to watch list), Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, Mario & Luigi 3, etc. Being a gamer is hard work!

Life is about to begin

Now that E3, senior project, and finals are done, it's almost time to level up aka graduate. I had to use a video game reference didn't I? Anyway, on June 16th, I'll be a new person, a responsible adult as my dad says. Wow, it came so fast. I still have some things that I want to get off of my chest, so I can't wait until I graduate to tell them.

ANYWAY, wrestling has been crazy these last couple of days. Christian, Orton, and Edge ALL lost their titles. Wow, that was the fastest month in history. It looks good for Orton though, as Batista is injured, so he's a shoe in to win the title right? Wrong, damn Triple H comes back and destroys him. So, I guess on Raw next week (which I might miss some of due to graduation) it will be Orton VS Triple H or something like that? Regardless, a new WWE Champion will be crowned. Tommy Dreamer winning the ECW Title was deserving. I'm not even mad at that. I hate the fact that Edge lost, but I love the fact that we may have a heel CM Punk as champion. CM Punk VS Undertaker would be even better to see now.

Not a bad day for Nintendo or Sony

So, Nintendo is trying to get to the hardcore gamers! New Super Mario Bros Wii, Super Mario Galaxy 2, and Metroid: Other M were all announced at their press conference. Other M is probably the biggest shock, since Team Ninja is behind it! Team Ninja + Nintendo = Win, right? I'll definitely keep my eyes on that one. Kingdom Hearts is coming out in September, that's good news. I have to watch the conference from start to finish so I can see what else they announced.

Sony did a better job this year. With Uncharted 2, God of War III, and The Last Guardian, I think Sony has sold the PS3 to me. And, are you kidding me, FF XIII and XIV in one year? Unfortunately, XIV's a online game, just like XI, but it was a good announcement for Sony. It was also good to see a XIII trailer. It looks like Kojima didn't completely screw Sony as Metal Gear Solid: Rising is still coming to PS3. Also, MGS: Peace Walker is an exclusive for PSP. It looks pretty good, though, I'm not the biggest MGS fan. Oh, how could I forget the PS3 wands? They connect with the Playstation Eye and they seem to work well. It looks like gaming's future is motion now. The Wii started it, 360 and PS3 are perfecting it.

Overall, IMO, Microsoft still won out of the three press conferences. Sony is a close 2nd and Nintendo a distant last. Maybe with all the world premieres, I don't know, but Microsoft has made me even happier that I own a 360. Sony has persuaded me, with the The Last Guardian and God of War 3, to finally dish out the money for a 360, and Nintendo, with SMG2 and M:OM, has convinced me that more hardcore games are on the way. I wonder what else Square-Enix has up their sleeve? Capcom's game must have been RE on the PSP, since it has never been on the console. SE has announced FFXIV and Front Mission, so what's left? Any footage from Dragon Quest IX or X or is there something else I'm missing?

So I guess there is another Zelda for Wii, but we can't see pictures of it. Dang it. At least Nintendo has three big titles coming out all next year. Can't wait to get home so I can look up some games.

Microsoft STEALS E3!

Last year's conference convinced me to buy a 360. This years' just made me love it more! The Beatles opening was cool, not a fan though. Tony Hawk Ride looks innovative. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 looks AMAZING. Didn't play the first one, but now I got a reason to. Final Fantasy XIII has rekindled my love for the series. Looks like 10 and 12 combined. Shadow Complex looks like a cool retro shooter. Joy Ride, meh. Crackdown 2 and Left 4 Dead 2 are just big teases. At least L4D 2 is only months away. Splinter Cell Conviction looked better than all other ones in the series. Forza Motorsport 3, meg. Halo 3 ODST and Halo Reach looked ok. ALAN WAKE FTW. About time some gameplay has been shown. I'm looking forward to playing that next year. Facebook and Twitter on 360, pretty good. Sony gets screwed again as Kojima announces Metal Gear Solid: Rising for the 360. Bye-bye to another Sony franchise huh? Project Natal = MUCH better EyeToy. Looks amazing; voice and facial recognition.
Overall, Microsoft did an amazing job this year. I'll go more in depth later this week, but they definitely are bringing their A game. A+ press conference.

So, no new Capcom game yet? Hmmm, looks like it's Sony or Nintendo's game.
No shows at the press conference = Mass Effect 2, Dead Rising 2, and Lost Planet 2.

Mass Effect 2 looks great. One of my favs from the EA Conference. Ubisoft's was really boring. James Cameron was talking forever! I fell asleep, and he was still talking! Assassin's Creed 2 ended the show with a great cinematic trailer. I can't wait to play that game. I'm mad that they didn't show more of No More Heroes 2. All they said that they were publishing it; no videos or anything. Overall, both companies press conferences were average. Both had parts I didn't care about (Girl's Club and Your Shape). It was cool to see Joel Mchale though.

The Big N and Sony's press conferences are today at 12 and 2, respectively. Microsoft has set the bar high, with announcements of MGS:R and sequels to already established hits. Nintendo needs to show some big titles today. Any new Zelda, Mario, or any other established Nintendo game will do. Unfortunately, I won't catch the whole conference live, but they save the best announcements for last right? So I hope that the big game announcement is at the end, which I know it will. Sony just got a slap in the face from Kojima, so they have to show some exclusive games for their console. MAG, God of War 3, and another game from Insomniac would be good. And when I say GOW3, I mean gameplay of it. A live demo would suffice. (Sigh) I have to get through this day first to see these press conferences. I gotta present my podcast today and I think I go 2nd, so the bar will be risen for me. Damn. Oh, well, tell you how that goes later.

Crunch time is coming

A hard week is on the horizon for me. June 2nd is my Podcast presentation on Torture in my Problems of Democracy class. I'm not really nervous about it, I think Mr. Rayer is going to throw some type of a loop in the questions. June 4th is the big one; Senior Project presentation. THAT'S the one I'm nervous about. It's going to be in front of God knows how many people and it's so dang important, that I have to dress up. I'm not a fan of that. I like the casual look more. I'm not wearing any kind of suit or a tie, so they can forget that. I'll look nice though. Hopefully, my people got my back from my group and will give me a card so I know what the hell I'm talking about. If that happens, there is nothing to worry about.

So, my church and I went bowling yesterday. After playing two games, I'll think I'' stick to Wii Bowling. I'm not a sports person, never was. Video games is the only thing I'm really good at. Oh well, it was a fun trip though. Overall, it was a fun day. I hope we have another outing like that in the near future.

I'm done Punch-Out. In Mac's Last Stand, I lost to Donkey Kong, Soda, and Piston. The ending was alright, but it felt anticlimactic. I hope we get to see a Super Punch Out!

Down goes Sandman! Down goes Sandman!

I just beat Mr. Sandman in Punch-Out on Title Defense mode and I feel great! The last 4 fighters (Soda, Bald Bull, SMM, and Sandman) were quite possibly the hardest, especially Mike Tyson, I mean, Mr. Sandman. Seriously though, what was up with his resemblance to Tyson? At least Nintendo still has Tyson on their minds. It was certainly a treat hitting Sandman with my 3 star punch and then the cinematic TKO. It was cool to see, and now, it's time to beat 10 boxers in Last Stand Mode, so I can not only see DK, but to get Champions Mode. I wonder what else is unlockable in this game? I know Nintendo had to put more than just this.

I just got a message from CW Philly. Here's what they had to say about giving Reaper a time slot:

Thank you for your note. It does seem like the production company behind the show is trying to revive it for weekend syndication. If they are successful in launching it, we will support it with a time period here in Philadelphia. At this point, we are waiting on word from them.
Thanks-
CWPHILLY

Looks like if Reaper continues, they'll be on board.

One of my favorite Office clips

Facebook account, Broken Sword, Reaper's finale

I told myself I would never EVER do it, but I got a facebook account now. Look me up on there.

I played Broken Sword yesterday and it was pretty fun. I never played one before but this was a refreshing experience for the Wii. So far, I think I've only done one real puzzle and that was the spinning of the artifact, which I couldn't get at first. Oh well, I'll probably play some more today and also some more Punch-Out!! I need to beat King Hippo in Title Defense Mode and continue on. That manhole covering he has may have been the work of a genius. TD mode may be my favorite mode.

Reaper's finale on CW (see what I did there!) was last night. Wow, I didn't think Steve would screw over Sam like that. Now both Andi and Sam souls belong to the Devil. I wonder why Steve got orders to break Sam's hand. Maybe they want him to somehow stop the Devil. Who knows. I hope Reaper goes into syndication.

Life and Extreme Rules

20 days from now, I'll be graduating high school. It's crazy man. It's like just yesterday I was happy that Super Mario RPG was coming out for the Virtual Console, then it was me getting a 360 in October, then Persona 4 came out in December (highlight of school year), then I got Star Ocean IV in March, and now after getting Punch-Out in May, it's only 8 full days of school left. I also just realized how boring my life is. The fact that I have to chronicle my high school year in video games is sad, I know, but, that's the way I am. I'm not a social person that everyone loves, but I do have people who actually like me for me. Man, when graduation comes on June 15th, I'll tell everyone how I really feel about them. It might not be pretty for some of the people I talk to, but it will be my last time to talk to them, unless they stay on Xbox Live. I just hope I get home in time for Raw. This is a big step forward in life and I know I'm ready, but damn, life is really trying to stop me from moving forward. I got a POD Podcast due on Friday and then I present it on Monday (why did I pick to go first?), a Psych paper due next Tuesday, Senior Project presentation next Thursday, which I don't give a crap about, and an English Paper due Monday. All while having Punch-Out, SVR 2009, and trying to get a girlfriend. Talk about overwhelming. When June 16th comes, I'm going to rest all day. I had another realization: I have never really talked about my personal life until now. I wonder what the hell is going on with me.

Extreme Rules is on June 7th and it has a MOTY candidate with Edge VS Jeff Hardy in a Ladder Match. I like the fact of a Steel Cage match, but I really feel that the Ladder Match will steal the show. Going to ECW real quick, Swagger, DH Smith, and Tyson Kidd = EPIC WIN! I hope they get Swagger in the new Hart Foundation. I know it sounds stupid, but the top heels should get together to dominate the brand and actually give Christian a run for his money. With Legacy and The Hart Trilogy, it looks like stables are coming back to WWE. Now if Smackdown gets one, we can a little war going on.

Punch-Out!! and Smackdown VS Raw 2009

On Saturday, (after teaching) I bought Punch-Out!! and SVR 2009. Both are pretty good, especially Punch-Out!! I was playing Super Punch Out all week last week and I finally beat it on Friday night. (damn Bruiser brothers) This new one is just great. I love the Title Defense mode. Glass Joe actually becomes harder! The only bad thing about the game is the multiplayer. I wish you could be some of the other guys you fight. My favorite boxers in the game are Disco Kid, Super Macho Man, and Mr. Sandman. Even though Sandman is a beast, he's awesome. In SPO, he was the Major Circuit Champion. Now, he's the last boss, kinda of. I wonder if we'll ever see a Mike Tyson Punch Out again or one with Mr. Dream? Who's a big boxer today? Paquiao's Super Punch Out. Best seller right there! I wouldn't want to be Little Mac though. His punches are lighting fast. Did you see what he did to Hatton?

SVR is great. The career mode is a little boring, but I love how some wrestlers (Orton and Cena) have different entrances with championships. It's more realistic. The Road to Wrestlemania Mode is ok. I wish they would let you play as heel wrestlers though. Not everyone likes the good guys. I mean, come on. I know there are Edge, Orton, and Kennedy fans out there. Whatever, the game is still fun.

Tomorrow, I'll be playing Broken Sword for the Wii. I've been looking for a good adventure game since Zack and Wiki so I'm hoping for the best.

Goodbye to Reaper on CW

Well, as expected, Reaper is done on CW after next week. I'm still hoping for Reaper to be picked up by ABC Studios, but how long is that going to take? I know they're pick it up though, since everything has been going smoothly with the shows I like. Here's hoping for the best.

Chuck is renewed! I was right about Extreme Rules, and games

Thank God! Chuck has been renewed for a third season consisting of 13 episodes. Unfortunately, it's slated to come back in March of 2010! Great, it's been renewed, but won't be back for another 10 months. The wait will be worth it though. Now, after next week's Reaper season finale, I'll be looking forward to Leverage, Psych, and the last season of Monk. (no!) Also, Dollhouse got renewed as well, which is a shock to me. That just goes to show you that anything can happen with TV shows. Look at My Name Is Earl. I thought that had another season in it, but I guess not. NBC Thursdays in the fall are still going to be funny without it though. Parks & Recreation, The Office, and Community. I can't wait for that. Fringe season 2 should be the best show to watch next season. Chuck won't be back til spring and I don't know what's going on with Reaper, so Fringe will have to fill the void. I hope that a new good series comes out Mondays at 9 and on Tuesdays at 8. We'll see what happens.

I'm pretty sure I predicted the Steel Cage match between Batista and Orton at Extreme Rules. Now, Hardy and Edge just have to face off in a TLC Match to make the PPV even better. Big Show VS Cena in a Submission match will be lame. I never liked those two feuding and I don't think I ever will. After Batista, I think Orton will start feuding with Cena or MVP.

I just got Romancing Saga and Phantom Dust from GameFly. RS I played for 30 minutes and then put in the sleeve to send back. I tried to play it, but I just couldn't. Phantom Dust, on the other hand, is pretty fun. I'm mad that I missed it the first time around. I hope the all the missions aren't as linear as they are though. If they are, the game would definitely lose points from me. I know nobody cares, but I like this girl right now and she's all I can think about right now. Even when I'm playing games, it leads back to her somehow. I just needed to get that off my chest.

Playing games again

So, I'm back to playing games again, and I'm so happy! I'm going to send back Suikoden and Prince of Persia and I haven't beaten either of them. I just lost momentum in them because I couldn't play them for two weeks. Oh well, I can always rent them again. I was playing Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection again and I think I'm going to stay on that for a while. I also want to play my VC console games more, since I haven't beaten many of those. (Secret of Mana, Super Mario RPG, Paper Mario, Legend of Zelda:: OOT, and LandStalker to name a few!) I think the break made me appreciate the game that I have. Sure I want to buy SRIOS:EF and MANY other games, but right now, I'm going to focus on tying up some loose ends.

I'm getting nervous for Chuck and Reaper, man. I heard Tyler Labine is getting his own show on Fox. I hope they do decide to bring Reaper over to Fox, along with his new show, so I'm going to keep watching it, since it is my favorite show on TV. Chuck's renewal announcement is taking FOREVER. It's a great show, just renew it NBC. You didn't renew Surface (anybody remember that show?) when I wanted, so if they don't renew Chuck, that'll be two shows they canceled that I really enjoyed. I'll keep high hopes for both shows though.

I'm done!

I got done all of my reading done. Now all I have to do is pass a quiz and I can play video games again. That was the hardest two weeks of my life. It was boring; all I did was read and watch old wrestling tapes. I also get my $50 that's being held, so I think I'm going to buy Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier.

I'm still here

Yeah, I still can't play games. It has been almost two full weeks since I've played my 360. It's getting hard man. Especially now that everything is ending. Chuck, Heroes, and now Dollhouse are all over. This coming week, Fringe, Parks and Rec, and The Office will be done until the fall. Reaper won't be over until the last Tuesday in May and after that, new TV is done until fall for me. Unfortunately, it looks like Dollhouse, Reaper, and maybe even Chuck won't be back next season. Chuck has the best chance at staying alive, but we won't know until this week. If Dollhouse got canceled, I wouldn't be too upset. The season finale was confusing and stupid if you ask me. Alpha getting away like that was very anti-climatic. How did he disappear like that? Whatever, if it does come back, they need to put it at a good time slot. Tuesdays with Fringe would be nice or following Lie To Me, if that comes back, on Wednesdays. I do care about Chuck and Reaper being canned, because they are my two favorite shows.

Judgment Day's card looks alright. Orton VS Batista will probably be the main event. HOPEFULLY, the Age of Orton won't end next Sunday. Edge VS Hardy will end with an Edge victory, with CM Punk probably cashing in MITB. If not, it sets up for Edge VS Hardy at Extreme Rules in probably a TLC match. That would be a show stealer. Christian VS Swagger is already their 3rd match this year. I expect Christian to win, but I not holding my breath. CM Punk VS Umaga and John Cena VS Big Show are the David VS Goliath matches of the card. Don't really care about them. I hope they add Legacy VS The Colons and Jericho VS Mysterio for the IC title at JD.

Here's my two Extreme Rules matches I thought up.
Randy Orton VS Batista - Stretcher or Steel Cage Match
Edge VS Jeff Hardy - TLC Match
Hopefully, Orton doesn't get injured at this ER.

TV Shows

Since I'm banned from playing video games for a while, I think I'll start talking about tv shows. Chuck and Heroes both had season finales this week and for me, Chuck had the season finale feeling. It pushes me to watch it next season, if they get a next season. Heroes did have the Nathan/Sylar switch, but Sylar was their main villian. Is Nathan going to go down the Sylar road and start killing people? I hope it gets one more season to wrap everything up with a series finale.

So, the only shows left for me right now are Fringe, Reaper, Dollhouse, Lie to Me, Parks and Recreation, and The Office. Dollhouse ends next Friday, Reaper has a month left, Lie to Me probably has third weeks, P&R and The Office end on the same night and Fringe's season finale is on May 12th. A lot to look forward to in May.

Orton finally wins his 4th World Title!

It has finally happened everybody! The Legend Killer, The Viper, whatever you want to call him has won his 4th World Title as his team was victorious. Christian and Orton have won titles. Let's see if Edge can make it 3 for 3 for me.
EDIT: OMG! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Christian, Edge, and Orton all won titles? WHAT? I was actually right for once? I don't believe it. So now, both championships are on their rightful shows. I guess we'll be seeing Orton VS Batista, Cena VS Big Show, and Edge VS someone on SD huh? CM Punk maybe?

Hey

I just got Prince of Persia for the 360 from Gamefly and I'm not impressed. It's fun to play, but my favorite POP game is the first one on PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube. I'll review it after I finish it. which could be a while. I just got a condition per se that says I can't play games until I do a certain task. Now, this task involved me reading 400 pages and then answering questions to get my privilege to play games again. This task is going to take a WHOLE DAMN week of my time, so I don't expect to play POP, Shenmue II, or any other game for a whole week. If you don't see me blogging for a while, you'll know why.

Backlash 2009 is minutes away. I would like to see Orton, Edge, and Christian walk away with gold, but since WM25, my predictions have been way off. I think Triple H and Batista will get into a little feud after this match and I think Orton and Cena will feud. Christian has the best chance of winning.

Games for the weekend

I plan on playing Suikoden Tierkries, Mana Khemia, Penny Arcade Episode II, (I was awesome and the song on the credits was sweet), hopefully the new Prince of Persia, and Shenmue II. Yeah, remember Shenmue? About the boy who wanted revenge for his father's death? Yeah, well I just found the game in my basement and started playing it again. It was the first game I ever played on Xbox and was my sole reason for buying it. Now, only if I could go find Phantom Dust in a store. But anyway, I love the Shenmue series and I really hope that a third one eventually comes out. This one ended on a cliffhanger and it's already been 6 1/2 years since it came out in the US. W/e, maybe one day. Until then, I have to look towards games coming out.
The next couple of months are big for me. This week, Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier comes out. I've never gotten into any other titles from the series, but after seeing the gameplay of this, I instantly fell in love with it. It looks like another excellent RPG for the DS. Black Sigil is suppose to come out in May, but I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't. I graduate from high school on June 15, then the next week Devil Survivor and Prototype come out so my last couple months of high school are packed.

Backlash and games

Backlash is this weekend and it has a nice card. A Last Man Standing Match and an I Quit Match? Wow, WWE is going all out huh? Christian VS Swagger could be good, but I don't see Christian winning, unless Swagger is getting the push to Raw or SD. Randy Orton just beat Triple H last night and Triple H's team is feuding, so the odds are on Orton's side, but I think Triple H will retain again. If Cena retains as well, expect a Undisputed Title match pretty soon.

Suikoden Tierkries is a pretty good game. I only have 3 hours into it, but I really like the graphics and the gameplay. The voice overs are fast and bad, but I'm used to it. The Dark Spire may be the hardest game I've played this year. The damage is random and it has a steep learning curve, which is why I have to send it back today. I'm going to have to buy TDS to really enjoy it.

Mana Khemia playtime, new stuff from GameFly

The only game I've been really playing this week has been Mana Khemia and I love the game. I played Ar Tonelico and while that's still my favorite NIS game, Mana Khemia is a close second. It plays like an old school RPG, which is right up my alley. Even though the PS2 is from the last generation of games, it still has games on it that surprise me. Also, today, tomorrow, or Monday, I'll get to play two of the many DS RPGs that came out this year, thanks to GameFly. Those games are Suikoden Tierkreis (which wins for the hardest title to pronounce this year) and The Dark Spire. ST and TDS both got good reviews from IGN, so I hope I can trust them. I was never into Suikoden series. I bought Suikoden III a while back, but, just like Star Ocean III, I didn't really get a chance to play it like I wanted. Maybe, I'll do what I did with Xenosaga and buy the whole series on PS2, except for Suikoden Tactics, since I didn't like that game. Buying all three would cost me around 50 bucks. I don't know. Maybe I'll buy them after graduation or after I beat Star Ocean 3 and Mana Khemia.

A lot to talk about today

The WWE Draft took place last night and it looks to be a promising future for WWE.
First, let's look at the Raw picks:
In the first pick of the night, Raw get the United States Champion MVP in a huge acquisition for Raw. I'm really looking forward to him being a major player on Raw. Hopefully when he drops his US title, he'll start feuding with people like Orton and Cena. A big surprise IMO.
The second Raw pick was Big Show. I don't really see where they were going with this one. Maybe he'll feud with Batista or something. A so-so pick for me.
The third Raw pick was Matt Hardy. This guy has some good potential as a heel and now that he's on Raw, he can definitely rise up to challenge some main eventers. I can see him being World Heavyweight or WWE champion by the end of the year. Mark my words. Another great draft pick for Raw.
Raw's fourth pick was The Game, Triple H, which I happened to predict. With Triple H back on Raw, you can expect him to face Orton some more, Batista, and of course, John Cena. Now that both champions are on Raw, I predicting that what happened at Vengeance 2001 will happen again. I think both Cena and unfortunately Triple H will retain their titles and then at Judgment Day, have Cena VS Batista and have Orton VS Triple H or some kind of pairing. Then, the winner of those two matches meet in the main event for the Undisputed Title. Smackdown would finally get the Smackdown championship, which would be won by Edge, or one of the draftees. Raw hit the jackpot with The Game!
The 5th pick for Raw was the Miz. They just broke up their only hope at reviving the tag team division. Miz and Morrison had a bright future, but now, I can only see Morrison rising up on ECW by himself and Miz getting fired in a couple of months. Until then, I hope he's the one to take MVP's US Title. Another so-so pick.
Raw's final pick was Maryse, which wasn't anything special. I hate the fact that Smackdown now has both tag titles, the IC Title, and the Women's Title, as they all have rich history and belong on Raw. Now, with the Maryse on Raw, it should open up more women's matches, like Maryse VS Mickie, Kelly, and so on.
Overall, Raw recovered from the last draft. Last year, they lost Jeff Hardy, Triple H, and some others but they rebounded this year with picks like Triple H, MVP, and Matt Hardy. Raw looks to have a great year. A+ for them!
Now onto Smackdown!
Smackdown's first pick was Melina, who brings the Women's Championship to SD. I'm not a fan of that decision, but now she can face McCool and the other chick Natalya.
SD's second pick was Mr. Money in the Bank, CM Punk. They now have the hottest young star in the WWE and Raw has taken a huge lost. CM Punk will be a main eventer on SD, and I hope he faces Edge, Jeff Hardy, and Undertaker on SD. One of the best picks.
The third draftee was Kane. I don't see what he can do on SD, but I would like to see a Brothers of Destruction reunion, with them becoming the tag champs. That would make my day.
SD gets their biggest pick as Chris Jericho is drafted as their 4th pick. Wow, didn't see that coming at all. Jericho will thrive on SD, probably becoming their new World Champion soon. If not him, CM Punk, Edge, or Hardy. Jericho on SD means that he could eventually be the one to face Taker at Mania next year, which would be interesting to see. An awesome pick for them.
SD's fifth and last pick was the IC Champion Rey Mysterio. SD really needs him now and with all the other young talent on SD, it should make for some epic clashes on Friday nights.
Overall, Smackdown had another great year. They only gave up one of their best, (that being Triple H) but gained some greats as well. Jericho, CM Punk, and Mysterio will do wonders for SD and I wouldn't be surprised if that's a Triple Threat match for a title pretty soon! A for them.
The only pick ECW got was Vladmir Kozlov. It's wasn't a bad pick, it's just that he's going at the wrong time. This must mean that Swagger will be losing his title to one of the three in the championship chase thing so that Kozlov can feud with them. ECW will get their's in the supplemental draft. Speaking of Swagger, he really did a good job against Cena last night. I hope he drops his ECW Title and comes over to Raw, where he belongs. He would do well under Orton's wing. They need a 4th member anyway.
I hope Christian gets drafted in the supplemental draft. He's a great wrestler and his potential exceeds ECW. Another big pick is Evan Bourne. He'll probably go to Smackdown to feud with people like Mysterio and CM Punk. Oh my God, I would love to see that match! ECW will probably get Benjamin, Kofi Kingston, and Dolph Ziggler. Maybe even The Brian Kendrick and Hurricane Helms. The future is looking bright for WWE. I'm predicting right now, that before or at SummerSlam, there will be a Fatal Four Way for the World/WWE/Undisputed Title. Triple H, Batista, Randy Orton, and John Cena, or just take out Triple H and have a Triple Threat. I've wanted to see that Triple Threat matches since they all won World Titles, so I think that would be an interesting clash.

No More Heroes is better than MadWorld

After playing and completing MadWorld, I can now say No More Heroes was better. In MadWorld, it seems that they tried too hard with the story. It didn't really flow right. The ending was bad just like Star Ocean IV and Resident Evil 5, so that makes 3 games that came out this year having bad endings. While MadWorld was fun, I felt that there were too many ways to kill people. It kind of overwhelmed me like Fallout 3 did with the various ways I could kill someone. Nevertheless, MadWorld was still an enjoyable game. Even though the ways I could kill people overwhelmed me, it was still fun to do all the killing. It's just not better than No More Heroes. NMH had a stupid story too, but at least the ending was pretty epic. Finding out that Henry was Travis' twin brother and that Sylvia was his wife was so funny. Add that fact that Travis and Henry were constantly breaking the 4th wall in this scene and that equals epic. It kept it open for a sequel, unlike MadWorld. I can't see Jack riding again in another sequel. If they do make a MadWorld 2, it won't be with Jack in it. I would love to see Jack VS Travis though. Travis would win hands down, because he some kind of freak.

Penny Arcade Adventures and some other games

When I found out that Penny Arcade Adventures Episode 1 was 800 points instead of 1600, I instantly bought it. The 1600 points price tag was the only thing holding me back from buying this game. I'm enjoying the game so far and I hope that the 2nd episode goes on sale next week, but I doubt it. If not, I'll just buy it since I have 1300 points left. I went to Gamestop.com yesterday and bought Star Ocean 3, Mana Khemia, and MLB Power Pros 2008 all for the PS2. I wanted to try SO3 again because I didn't give it enough time when I first played it 4 and a half years ago, so I want to try it again. I never played Mana Khemia, but I've played Ar Tonelico and I have seen my friend play Atelier Iris, so I'm sure I'll like this game. For some reason, I always try to buy three games when I have the money, so I decided to pick up MLB Power Pros 2008, since it was only $10 and because I loved the first one for the Wii. Hopefully, that stuff will be here tomorrow or Friday. (Hoping for tomorrow, though, since I'll have all some of Thursday and all of Friday to play them.)

I don't talk much about television on this blog, but I'm going to change that. My favorite shows are Chuck, Reaper, and Fringe. I also like Heroes, Lie to Me, South Park, and Dollhouse. Reaper has to be my #1 show though because it mixes supernatural with comedy for an interesting blend. My favorite comedy is now The Office. That has to be one of the most random shows on television and since I have Netflix, I've been watching it a lot lately. I'm on Season 2 right now and I've loved every episode. I hope I can catch up to the current season, though.

It's a MadWorld huh?

I finally got to play MadWorld yesterday. It's the best game on Wii this year, but it's only April. The violence is just insane and the graphics really make it feel like a it's a comic book. Between this and No More Heroes, I can't decide which is better yet. MW has the violence won due to all the things you can do to the enemies, but NMH had me with all its crazy storyline twist and all the fourth wall breaking. After I beat MW, I'll have my final decision. The Wii is getting Arc Rise Fantasia, Muramasa, Punch-Out, Little King's Story, and The Conduit, so MadWorld being the best Wii game this year is a statement that I may have to take after I play these games.

Backlash 2009 looks pretty good so far. Legacy VS Triple H, Batista, and Shane for the WWE Title sounds cool and dumb at the same time. I got a feeling they're going to have Batista pin Orton, and then have a Batista/Triple H feud again or DiBiase getting the pin on Shane and end up feuding with Orton. It could go either way with that one, so I'm not going to expect an Orton title win. Edge VS Cena is a LMS is great, since it's one of the matches they haven't had yet. I expect to see Cena win again, so I just hope it's a good match. The draft is next week and I expect to see Triple H getting drafted to Raw, while Cena gets drafted to SD!. It wouldn't make sense to have both champions on one show, unless they're going to make another Undisputed Title. If that's the case, it'll be Orton VS Cena, probably at Judgment Day, if that's the plan. I don't know, WWE is actually fooling me right now. At WM, they didn't let Edge retain, or let anyone new win the MITB, or let the Age of Orton continue so I think my predictions on wrestling are getting worse by the day.

Ah, I LOVE Wrestlemania!

Wrestlemania 25 was amazing. I know some people will say it was stupid because Orton was buried and believe me, I didn't like seeing it either, but it happens. We have to try and remember that this is entertainment and they try and please the fans. Let me go in order.

The MITB was pretty nice. It had a lot of spots and they were really going all out. CM Punk winning was a HUGE surprise. I really preferred Christian to win, but it's fine. Knowing WWE, they'll make him defend it against someone and he'll lose to them. All in all, it was one of the better matches of the night.

The Divas Battle Royal made me upset. Why didn't they announce the former Divas competing? By the time I saw them, they were getting eliminated. Santina had me cracking up with his dance moves!

Jericho vs the Legends was okay. Steamboat still got it man. I don't know why he doesn't wrestle more! Even Rourke did a good job!

The ER match was sweet! It started with weapons, it ended with weapons. It was one of the most entertaining matches of the night. It really went back and forth, The ending of the match was almost too; a Twist of Fate with a chair = WIN!

JBL VS Mysterio isn't a match I can rate. It was 21 seconds long. I don't have any problem with Rey being IC Champion. Maybe this will open up feuds with Christian and Kofi. JBL quitting was the icing of the cake.

HBK VS Undertaker was EXACTLY what I wanted it to be! MOTY, maybe best WM match in the last decade! When Taker hit that dive and landed on his head, I knew he was done, but he came in and gave him a Chokeslam, a Last Ride, and a Tombstone and HBK still wasn't done. I wanted HBK to win, but I knew he wasn't going out like a punk.

The Triple Threat match was ok. Another match where my pick lost, but I knew Cena was going to win. It was just like last year's TT match. It was really between Triple H and Cena and Orton was just looking in and he ended up winning. It's no different. Cena wins with him hopefully feuding with Orton again.

The main event was kind of slow between Orton and Game. I didn't like the fact that Orton lost or the fact that Triple H had to cheat to win. I'm really surprised that Legacy was nowhere to be seen. Oh well, The Game buried Orton in a mediocre ME. Edge VS Taker is the reigning best WM ME.

Hopefully, Orton and Triple H will fight again and Orton wins before the draft, but I know that's just wishful thinking. Overall, WM was an 8/10 for the MITB, Hardy VS Hardy, HBK/Taker, and the ME, even though it ended wrong.

It was and wasn't a good way to start spring break. Hopefully, MadWorld comes tomorrow so I can beat that!

EDIT: Where the hell does WWE go from here? Next week is the Draft and you know they're going to shake things up. My predictions (which are never right anymore) calls for Cena and Triple H to change shows. It just makes sense for that to happen, but with WWE, sense doesn't mean much.

OK, enough with wrasslin', let's talk about Star Ocean. I completed the Cave of the Seven Stars right before WM and Gabriel Celeste was a bad ass. The fight had to have taken 30 minutes at the least. I used 38 out of the 40 resurrection items I had and it was just great getting the achievement for beating him. I'm not an achievement hunter, but it's good knowing other people can see that I beat him.

#1 baby!

This morning, I beat the Lord of Dragons and won the #1 spot! He wasn't that hard, it was just the fact that he hit hard. I used Berserk and a couple of times, and he would just neglect the damage I dealt to him and then jump up and kill me. It probably took a good 6 tries and then about 15 minutes to finally kill him. Now, it's time to finish the Cave of the Seven Stars! Oh, I was on LVL 93 when I beat him.

Wow, just wow...

The Cave of the Seven Stars (optional dungeon in Star Ocean 4) is crazy! I went in there at LVL 80 and my first time leaving, I was at 85. I guess it's time to grind to LVL 100, then try my hand at the coliseum so more. I'm already rank 12, so I'm pretty close to the top rank. Once I beat the two optional dungeons and the coliseum, both solo and team battles, I'll probably play the game on Universe.

I'll be playing MadWorld on Saturday! Sweet! I'll probably beat it before Wrestlemania comes on, which is only 3 days away!

Well, Star Ocean is completed...

Square-Enix and Tri-Ace didn't fail me this time with Star Ocean: The Last Hope. The story was bland, I'll say that, but the gameplay is where the game really shines. And you know Tri-Ace, the game's main story may be done, but the fun isn't over yet! I loaded my file up and walked back up to the stairs and saw an exclamation point in one of the rooms I couldn't get into before. It said that it could take me back to Calnus, so I decided to go check the other room out and there was a dang dragon in the other room. He dropped the Darkness Ring, so I guess I have to go find use for it.

A story?

I'm thinking about putting my story, The First Journey, on my blog for you people to see. I don't know, though, since it's just random ideas I put together from video games and my life in general. I won't say what it's about, but just know that I might be posting it. Who knows, whatever my gut tells me.

WrestleMania XXV is 5 days away. HBK VS Taker + Orton/HHH + 25 DIVAS BATTLE ROYAL = Win! I'm placing my predictions right now!
Orton wins the WWE Title after a screw job from one of the McMahons.
Edge retains the World Title.
HBK finally ends the streak (yeah right!)
Christian, Benjamin, or MVP win the MITB.
Mae Young will win the Battle Royal
Jeff will beat his brother.
Morrison and Miz will rise to be the greatest tag team and win their 2nd WWE Tag Team Championships together.
Rey Mysterio wins his first ever IC Title
Jericho buries the Legends, gets Stunner by the newest Legend, Stone Cold

Match order! (My version)
Divas Battle Royal
MITB
IC Title Match
Tag Title Match
Extreme Rules
Jericho VS Legends
World Title Match
HBK VS Taker
WWE Title

Match order (probable WWE version)
MITB
Extreme Rules
Tag Title Match
IC Title Match
Jericho VS Legends
World Title Match
HBK VS Taker
Divas Battle Royal
WWE Title Match

The Divas Battle Royal would be a great way to kick off the whole night, then they get serious with the MITB, get to the two dumb title matches, have an awesome, over the top match, show everyone's favorite new HOF, Stone Cold, have a heel win, have Taker win, then end the night with a heel winning. When the last time a heel won in the main event at WM? When I say Main Event, I mean the last match to end the show. It wasn't last year, 23 had two faces fight each other, wasn't 22, 21, 20, 19, 18. 17 Austin became heel at the end. WM2000, Triple H retained as a heel, so it's been 9 YEARS since the fans haven't gone home happy. That's a shame, They need Orton to win. Sure, Triple H hasn't won at WM since 19 and Orton DID win last year, but Triple H buries his opponents every year. Why can't Triple H just boost his opponents. Look at Cena. He made HHH tap out and he became even bigger than he was.

Almost done Star Ocean IV

Now that I'm done RE5 (even on Pro) and Crackdown, I basically played Star Ocean all this past week. On Monday, I was on Disc 1 and had about 7 hours in the game. Now, I have 34 hours in it and I'm on Disc 3. Just like every other Tri-Ace game, the real fun doesn't happen until you beat the game and I found out that not only is there an AWESOME Colosseum is it, there is also two optional dungeons to choose from. I might even think about playing this game on Universe and Chaos after I beat it on Galaxy, who knows? I like this game that much. I think I'm going to buy Star Ocean 3 again. I had it when it first came out, but for some reason, I didn't really get into it. At the time, I only liked turn based RPGs. It was actually Radiata Stories that opened my mind to real time RPGs so I think I'll give SO3 another shot. Good thing SO4 is a prequel to the whole series. Another reason could be because I only had the game for a month before I got Paper Mario 2 and my first taste of the Shin Megami Tensei series, Nocturne. GameStop has it used for 12.99 so maybe I'll pick it up.

Wrestlemania XXV is almost here! Star Ocean is the Last Hope

9 days to go until WMXXV. HBK VS Undertaker is my pick for Match of the night. HBK has stolen the show 5 out of the last 6 WMs (WM22 going to Edge and Foley) and he shouldn't disappoint in this one.

Star Ocean: The Last Hope may be the best JRPG to come to the 360. I have yet to play Tales of Vesperia, but I really believe that you can't go wrong with it. Lost Odyssey is probably the 2nd best now.
