I have A LOT to rant about what could have been the most monumental PPV in WWE history.
First off, I feel sorry for Matt Hardy, Christian, Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre, Kofi Kingston, and Dolph Ziggler. The first four guys weren't even on the card. OK, so I thought Kofi and Ziggler were going to get enough time to have a good match, but of course not. That would make sense. So what happens? The Nexus attacks both men and messes up the match. A shocker for me. I really think the six pack challenge was the way to go. Oh well.
Alicia Fox was just proving herself worthy of being the Divas' Champion. Then, Melina just comes back out of nowhere and wins back the belt. Bad booking in my opinion. THEN, LayCool comes out to beat up Melina. What the hell kind of decision was that? Maybe one of those Divas will be the first woman to hold both titles at the same time. Makes sense to me.
Straight Edge Society in the filler match. Of course, Big Show wins. It's a shame what they're doing to CM Punk. He had the BEST feud of last year and was in the main event of SummerSlam last year. Now, he's in a lower card feud with The Big Show? How did things get so bad.
Sheamus, Sheamus, Sheamus. Why can't you win a title match fair and square? Why won't they let you do it? It was a pretty good match overall. I hate endings like this at big PPVs. leave that for an Over the Limit or at TLC, not at SummerSlam. That's a bad decision right there. You want to know the part that really pissed me off? When Orton RKOed Sheamus and they kept the camera on him for a while, basically teasing Miz fans that he was going to cash in. Then, it went to a promo for something. I really hated that. JUST GIVE MIZ THE WWE TITLE ALREADY!
Well, who didn't see The Undertaker returning? Oh, and it was KANE who attacked him? Oh my God, I didn't see that coming. Now that sets up for the inevitable Kane/Taker Hell in A Cell match. At least WWE planned that way ahead. I'm really looking forward to that match though. I hope it doesn't bomb.
(heavy sigh) You guys tried. Tried hard, but failed. First of all, DANIEL BRYAN? What a twist that was! Great job by WWE to keep that under wraps. How dare Team Cena disrespect Miz like that! I didn't really like that. Overall, it was a FANTASTIC main event. Kudos to WWE for putting 7, well, actually 8 rookies in the main event at one of their big PPVs. And they did a great job. The ending though, really? Cena got a DDT on the 'concrete'. He then avoids the 450 splash, pins Gabriel, then locks in the STF on Wade Barret. Really? Really? Cena couldn't let the young guys go over just one time? The Rock lost to Brock Lesnar and that win made his career at SummerSlam. Overall, the event was good but missing many things. No real leader of Nexus was revealed, The Miz didn't cash in, and Cena buried The Nexus. Better luck next time WWE.
