Well, it's almost here. WWE's last big PPV of the year. The 25th annual Survivor Series! Just like Survivor Series last year, this PPV has A LOT of potential to be a game changer in the WWE. Will it live up to the hype? Atfer last year, I don't have any faith that it will. Here's my predictions!
If Zack Ryder DOES NOT get into this US Title match, it will be a crime to every WWE fan who actually spent the time to sign his petition. My first prediction is that Zack Ryder will get into this match making it a triple threat. A Triple Threat between Morrison, Ziggler, and Ryder will be a fantastic opener for this big PPV. There's only one reasonable outcome to this match if Ryder is in it. Ziggler has held the US Title for 5 months. It's time for Ziggler to get that main event push again and have a World Title for longer than 11 minutes. Morrison will probably be leaving WWE pretty soon and that will be the best thing for his career. Giving Morrison the US Title just to stay with the company is stupid. It's not like that promises that WWE will use him for main events down the line. If Ryder gets in the match, HE HAS TO WIN! His merchandise is selling like hot cakes, the fans are getting behind him, the PPV takes place in his HOME STATE, and he could help rebuild the US Title division. If Ryder isn't in this match, then Ziggler and Morrison will have another fantastic match with Ziggler holding out and retaining his title. WE WANT RYDER! Those chants are going to be filling the arena.
Beth and Eve have a chance to have another good Divas match and here's hoping. I think Beth will retain. When is WWE going to start teasing the inevitable Beth/Natalya feud.
Henry VS Show III. Hard to believe this is the 3rd time they faced on PPV. I'm not interested in the match too much, just the outcome and the aftermath. Big Show has won both of his World Title at Survivor Series and he's making Henry look like he's able to be stopped. Henry has had one of the best 2nd halves of the year ever. He's definitely in the top 5 for Superstars of the year. If he beats Big Show, he can still feud with a returning Kane or Undertaker or even a red hot Sheamus. It's just better for Smackdown to have Mark Henry as World Champion, but that's just my opinion. I'm going with Mark Henry to retain over Big Show at the Survivor Series. Let's not forget about Daniel Bryan either. I wouldn't be surprised if he finally cashes in this Sunday. If Bryan cashes in, I wouldn't be surprised if the Barrett Barrage continued and he somehow became World Champion by year's end.
The match I want to see most, the traditional Survivor Series match. All the big time players in one huge match. I love these kind of matches. Some much unpredictably in this match. I really want to see the young guys overcome and win big at Survivor Series, but I don't know. Barrett and/or Rhodes going over Sheamus AND Orton at the last big PPV of 2011? Hell no, but you know me, I'm crazy enough to predict anything. Hell, I predicted Miz winning at Mania, so my prediction for this match is this; Wade Barrett will be the sole survivor for his team. Either that or Rhodes will be or that both will survive together. The heel team will win after being embarrassed on the last two shows. They have too. Why would Barrett captain his own team after not even being featured on Smackdown except for lately? Barrett will be standing tall at Survivor Series, like he should have last year. Anyone think that it's kind of funny that Barrett and Orton are apart of another big Survivor Series match? Is that why Barrett got captain status and not Rhodes?
Punk and Del Rio BOTH desperately need wins at the 25th annual Survivor Series. CM Punk hasn't won at a PPV since SummerSlam and after that big win, he lost! How is he going to be the biggest WWE superstar without any PPV wins? He gets pinned by Triple H, takes the pin in the HIAC, and takes the pin in the tag match at Vengeance. Del Rio isn't a really credible WWE Champion. He won the title at SummerSlam and lost it at the next PPV then wins it back at the PPV after that. What was the point of having Del Rio lose it in the first place? At least he beat Cena at Vengeance last month even though it wasn't clean. Del Rio needs a win because he doesn't look like a strong champion at all. He can't possibly have another short title reign can he? My prediction is that Alberto Del Rio will walk out of Madison Square Garden as WWE Champion. That doesn't mean he'll beat Punk, maybe a DQ finish is the best for both guys and then have an amazing TLC main event next month where Punk finally wins the title, like how Edge did last year. Punk has to be WWE Champion by December 26th. He has to bring the title to his hometown crowd. So yeah, Del Rio walks out as champion, either by dirty victory or a DQ. It's cheap but it would work.
There was never any doubt what would be the main event. Cena and Rock facing Awesome Truth. Miz is main eventing his 2nd big PPV this year, while Cena has been in all of them. How does this big match go down? Can Rock and Cena, the biggest tag team of ALL TIME, actually lose to Miz and Truth, practically two nobodies when you compare them to Rock and Cena? That's what I'm betting on. Another big PPV, more talks of a Cena heel turn. I don't think Cena will turn heel at Survivor Series, but I do think he'll cost his partner the match. I think the match will basically be won, Cena will have hit the AA on Miz and the crowd will be chanting for The Rock to get the tag. Rock will get the tag and get ready to hit the Rock Bottom or the People's Elbow, probably the Elbow. Rock will hit the ropes and run right into an AA. Cena will say something about seeing him at Mania and then leave. Miz will get up, call Truth over, and hit the Lil Jimmy's Finale. 1,2,3 and Awesome Truth have shocked the world. Hey, I can dream right? Well, that's my prediction! I don't care if I'm wrong! Awesome Truth will DEFEAT The Rock and John Cena with Miz pinning The Rock. If Miz pins The Rock, he's my Superstar of the Year.
So that's it. I hope it's a good show. The main event has to go down like I predicted or the event is going to end horribly.
So, I beat Dark Souls, don't know if I blogged about it, but it's definitely the 2nd biggest gaming accomplishment for me this year, only behind beating Catherine. I got Saints Row 3 on Tuesday and I absolutely love it. Zelda FINALLY releases tomorrow and I'll be getting it RIGHT after church tomorrow. Can't wait to play it. I haven't completed Dead Rising 2 OTR or Batman but I do plan to beat them after beating SR3 and of course Zelda.
Come on back EARLY Monday morning for my post Survivor Series blog. I'm sure I'll be disappointed.
