Pre-show or Opener: New Day defends in multi-man match.
The New Day are on top of the world, defeating every team that has been in their path. They are reigning atop a dead division. It really shouldn't be as they have plenty of teams in the Dudley's, The Ascension, The Usos, The Wyatt Family, Social Outcasts, etc but they continue to just focus on the New Day and nothing else. It's hurting the division and because of it, WWE will do a mult-man match for the 3rd straight Wrestlemania. New Day will defend against The Dudley's, The Usos and another team. I'm all for the Ascension but it could easily be members from The League of Nations. It will definitely be a hot opener regardless of the fourth team and New Day will be cheered heavily by the Wrestlemania crowd.
Chris Jericho VS Dean Ambrose - IC Title
Here's an interesting feud! I like this a lot. Let's take you back to Night of Champions 2015, where The Wyatts took on Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and their mystery partner, who turned out to be Chris Jericho. The faces put up a good fight but it was the new member Braun Strowman who made Jericho tap out. Jericho wasn't happy with the loss and butted headed with Ambrose post match, leading many to believe they were going to do something with the two. It didn't happen. The feud was teased again after Dean Ambrose eliminated Jericho from the Royal Rumble. Jericho was in the match for 50 minutes before Ambrose got him out. You think Jericho is going to forget something like that? Of course not and I know he's busy pushing AJ Styles right now but a match between the two would be awesome, especially with Jericho chasing his 10th reign as IC Champion. It just writes itself. It's the best match for the two.
AJ Styles VS Kevin Owens
Both AJ Styles and Kevin Owens never competed at a Wrestlemania. Why not wrestle each other on the grand stage, especially since the two guys already know each other? Owens eliminated Styles from the Royal Rumble after his impressive debut. Owens has been directionless since losing the IC Title and was at one point a favorite to win the Royal Rumble. With the title being on the line and all the injuries, I guess plans changed. Kevin Owens VS AJ Styles would an amazing wrestling match that could eat up a half hour of time for the show. A back and forth match between two top stars would be amazing. Will it happen? It should. It should also be for a title. Kallisto needs to drop the title to one of them and then go back to teaming with Sin Cara. This would be a match of the night candidate between two ROH alumni.
Charlotte VS Sasha Banks - Divas Title
You want to talk about a dream match for me? THIS is it. I've been heavily invested in NXT since 2014 and there were two women I wanted to succeed on the main roster. They were Charlotte and Sasha Banks. When the two clashed at R Evolution, I was thoroughly impressed. I was never so invested in a women's title match. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Sasha eventually won the title and I will never forget when the two main evented at the first NXT show in Philadelphia. It was a sight to see. So, when the two came on the main roster, I thought the two would have fought in one on one action by now. They haven't. Why? WWE knows they have a gold mine when these two finally show the whole world what they can do. What better stage than Wrestlemania to showcase their talents? There have been rumors that Becky Lynch would be added to this match and I'm not mad at that option at all BUT I still really want Sasha/Charlotte one on one. They've been building towards it for months and they need to capitalize on it. They want a Divas Revolution, they need to do this match on the big stage.
The Undertaker VS.....
Well, The Undertaker hasn't been on WWE TV in awhile, not since he completed his second burial of the Wyatt Family. The long time rumored match up was John Cena VS The Undertaker in what would have been a dream match. John Cena got injured in early 2016 so that looks likely to be out. Braun Strowman has now been rumored to be the man who will get the honor and if that happens, I guarantee you Strowman will go over. Vince sees dollar signs when he looks at him and it's only a matter of time before the guy is shoved down our throats. You know who I'd like to see face him if Cena can't pull of a miraculous recovery? Sheamus. I like Sheamus' in ring style, look and physically he looks like he can pose a threat to Taker. Sheamus needs to do something at Wrestlemania as he was JUST WWE Champion. This would be awesome for him and he would look great in defeat. Another guy who could get the nod is Kevin Owens, if AJ Styles already has another opponent. Owens, again, is another guy struggling in the mid card and a match with Taker would revitalize him. He could possibly be a favorite too after his shocking victory over Cena back in May. I guess we'll find out soon, either at Fast Lane or the Raw after. It's going to be interesting to see.
Regardless, I'm still holding onto to the thought that Cena will make a full recovery and face The Undertaker. He's done it before and he will do it again. It's THE match of this year's Wrestlemania.
Bray Wyatt VS Brock Lesnar
Bray Wyatt may have the best 3 Wrestlemania match opponents ever. WM 30 he faces John Cena, WM 31 he faces The Undertaker and now WM 32 he gets Brock Lesnar? MAN. Now, he the thing is this; will he win? Probably not. I bet Strowman would win but Wyatt? No. This will be a good showing for Lesnar as he'll have 4 guys to throw all over the ring and get over with. I really don't think Lesnar needs the win here and the guy hasn't been pinned in 3 years. If they really want to push Strowman, they need to first have Wyatt look strong. Regardless, it's a match that going to take place as it was definitely already set up at the Royal Rumble.
Although, I think we all know the match we all want to see...
Next year perhaps...
Roman Reigns VS Triple H - WWE World Heavyweight Championship
Here it is! The main event! This is a match that has been building for years, as far back as the Raw after Wrestlemania XXX, when Roman Reigns speared Triple H. Remember that?
So long ago right? There were rumors of the two facing off for years, at various PPVs throughout 2014 AND 2015. It will now happen. Say what you will about Triple H but he pushes the talent at Wrestlemania. WM 20 Benoit, WM 21 Batista, WM 22 John Cena. He may get the victories at other events but he always lets the other guy go over in the main event.
Is this the right decision though? I LOVE the main event as it's the ascension to the throne and will give Reigns his first long reign as champion. It will put him over as a top star but you have to realize the crowd Reigns it performing in front of. Remember last year as Reigns was getting booed out of the building? The only thing that saved that crowd from rioting was Rollins cashing in. There's no chance of that happening again. There has to be a victor in this match of the two men. The crowd will solely be behind Triple H, even though he's the heel as they were at the Royal Rumble. And remember, this will be the largest crowd in WWE history. Is this really the way WWE wants things to go? People still aren't sold on Reigns. WWE is going to need some type of ace up their sleeve as they had in the last two years. Daniel Bryan at 30, Seth Rollins at 31, maybe Kevin Owens or AJ Styles at 32? We'll see. I just think this will backlash like that last two years. I'm looking forward to it though!
That's what I got so far! Anybody else not used will be in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, which I think Strowman will dominant in. There really should be a NXT Title match on the show but if NXT is running a show two days before, it probably won't happen. This should be a good Wrestlemania, let's see if they go with my card though....
