Roadblock: End of the Line 2016 Predictions

2016 is winding down and we're at the last PPV of 2016, Roadblock: End of the Line. 6 matches on the main card, 1 on the pre show. Let's see if WWE can close out 2016 well. Let's talk winners!

Big Cass will take on Rusev on the pre show. Rusev completely destroyed Enzo a couple of weeks ago on Raw and Cass is looking for revenge. Cass is definitely going to be a big deal in the new year and I think Vince will try to protect him as much as possible. I don't think Cass gets the easy 1-2-3 here, maybe a dirty finish, like a countout or DQ thanks to Lana. Regardless, Big Cass will win.

The New Day made history earlier this week by becoming the longest reigning tag team champions in the history of WWE, beating a 28 year old record held by Demolition. While they just passed the milestone and did it against four different teams in two different matches, that doesn't give them a break on Sunday as they will face Sheamus and Cesaro for the titles. This may finally be it. We know WWE just likes to have people past records before they have them drop the titles. Look at Nikki Bella and Finn Balor, both who became the longest running champions with their titles before they dropped them days after. Sheamus and Cesaro is definitely a strange pairing but they've been working so well lately and their hard hitting styles mesh well. It may finally be time for a new team to reign on Raw. I'm going with Sheamus and Cesaro to win the tag team titles, setting up a hard hitting feud with Gallows and Anderson in the new year.

Rich Swann will defend his Cruiserweight Championship against The Brian Kendrick and TJ Perkins, the three guys who have been the champion since the title first came about in September. I like Kendrick but he needs to get away from the title picture. He's not helping the division at all. You need guys like Lince Dorado, Gran Metalik and Cedric Alexander getting the time and storylines. I don't remember Kendrick getting this much time in the CWC. I get it, he's a veteran and he's pushing these guys but come on. This should be a really fun match as well. I'm going with the obvious choice of Swann retaining here after 10 minutes.

Seth Rollins and Chris Jericho will do battle in Rollins' quest to the Universal Title and Triple H continues. While this will be a great contest, it's just filler as the Rollins/Triple H storyline picks up steam heading into Wrestlemania. Rollins wins.

Sami Zayn will get hi wish as he faces Braun Strowman in a 10 minute match. Pointless. Dumb. Please send Zayn to Smackdown. Zayn will get hot around the 9 minute mark, have Strowman staggered and then time will expire. So predictable. I guess it's a no contest then right?

In the final match in this epic rivalry, Sasha Banks will defend her Raw Women's Title against Charlotte in a 30 Minute Iron Man match. This will be their 6th clash since July for the Women's Title. Sasha won it on Raw, Charlotte won it at SummerSlam, Sasha won it on Raw, where they main evented, Charlotte won inside Hell in a Cell, which was the main event, Sasha won on Raw in ANOTHER main event in a Falls Count Anywhere match. That bring us to Sasha VS Charlotte VI, in another historic first for the division; an Iron Man match. Now, you'll certainly remember when Sasha and Bayley had their Iron Man match back in October 2015 in one of the greatest matches in NXT history so this isn't something new for the company but it is new for the main roster. Sasha and Charlotte have already done so much and broke plenty of barriers. I'm glad this is the final match though as there are way too many talented women to just have Charlotte and Sasha hogging the spotlight. I see Sasha winning 4-3 in overtime, then moving onto to Emmalina or Nia Jax before finally turning heel to face Bayley at Wrestlemania 33.

In a mega main event, at least for me, Kevin Owens will defend his Universal Championship against his hardest challenge yet, United States champion Roman Reigns. This is a scary match for Owens, only because he's facing the top face in the company. Top face as in the guy they WANT to be the top face because we all know how the crowd really feels about Mr. Reigns. Surely Reigns wouldn't win her right? I mean, he's United States Champion already, what's the point of putting two different titles on him? Regardless if you think Reigns has felt out of grace since his suspension back in June, it looks like full faith has been restored in him, which could mean the end of the Kevin Owens Show as we know it. There could be a chance that Owens retains thanks to rekindling his friendship with Chris Jericho as there is still a lot of money in a Universal Title match between the two, maybe at the Royal Rumble. I just don't want to see Reigns win the title off of Owens just yet. The Universal Title match at Wrestlemania 33 should be Finn Balor, the 2017 Royal Rumble winner, VS Kevin Owens. It's another feud form NXT that did great and it's one that needs to happen. If that's the case, both Sasha/Bayley and Owens/Balor would be big matches in Orlando, the same location where the feuds began in the first place in NXT. I'm going bold him and predicting that Kevin Owens will retain his Universal Championship against Roman Reigns, thanks to some type of heel tactics.

Roadblock will definitely be highlighted by the main event and the women's title matches. The next wrestling related post will be by big year end WWE review! Stay tuned
