I don't know why I'm surprised but the dirt sheets have already started to talk about Undertaker's Wrestlemania 30 opponent and it seems to fall solely on if The Rock will compete at the biggest event in pro wrestling. It seems that if Rock does indeed compete at Wrestlemania, he will face Brock Lesnar, reigniting their feud ALL THE WAY BACK when Lesnar first won the WWE Title. Undertaker would then face Ryback and, get this, be the one to end the streak, haven't we heard that one before. Lesnar/Rock is the only sensible match left for the two right now and I thought it was a lead candidate for WM29 but a year later isn't bad. Ryback/Taker makes sense WWE storyline wise, but I don't know if it's the Taker match I want to see at the biggest event of the year. Wrestlemania 29, yes, but it looks like they're avoiding the super match up. Why isn't The Undertaker VS John Cena the flipping MAIN EVENT of the show? Seriously. I'll talk more about that later.
Now, if The Rock is too busy with movies then it looks like Lesnar would get the nod to face Taker and Ryback, well, it doesn't look like he has a dance partner planned as of now. Lesnar and Taker would be good but I think Lesnar would be too rough for Taker's older body. I'd like to see it but it's still not my #1 match or even my #2 to be honest. If I was booking Wrestlemania 30 RIGHT NOW, I'd book it like this.
I actually have a lot of different scenarios. My #1 scenarios has The Undertaker facing John Cena for the WWE Championship. Once Cena comes back at the Rumble, let him win his 12th WWE Title at Elimination Chamber. After that, let him talk about how he has accomplished everything he has ever done in his career. He's won more WWE Title than everyone, beat the best the WWE has to offer and of course exorcised his personal demons. And now there's only one thing left to do; defeat Undertaker at Wrestlemania. And he makes it even better by putting the WWE Title up for grabs. Then, you let Undertaker win his last WWE Championship and let him retire. You can even add his maybe Hall of Fame induction in there. It would work. Now the other guys? Still have Lesnar/Rock of course. Let Punk win the Rumble and challenge for the World Title maybe that is held by Bryan and have Orton face Rhodes. Maybe even scratch that Punk/Bryan match and have Bryan/HHH. There are some potential huge main events for this card but WWE has to play their cards right. And I'm sure that none of these will pan out the way I want but that's fine. I'm just excited for the journey to Wrestlemania 30.
Maybe Taker doesn't face Cena? Why not face the tenacious Daniel Bryan? Is he too small for Taker?
As long as Taker, Cena, and the payoff for the Triple H storyline all happen at Mania, I'll be good. Just don't have Cena/Rock III. Thanks!
