Just rambling

My vacation from work just ended. It sucks but I had two solid weeks off where I did NOTHING productive, other than spend time with my wife and watch all the Marvel movies. Seriously. I had a backlog of Xbox One games to go through but just like last year, I failed clearing it. There weren't as many games this year but there were enough. I managed to complete three games though in Wolfenstein, Shadow of Mordor and Rayman Legends, two of those not even on my list when I originally planned this vacation out. I'm not really to blame though. There was just more going on than I originally thought when I took the venture on. I also bought The Walking Dead Seasons 1 and 2 since they were on sale for $15 combined.

I can't believe it took me so long to play the series. It's right up my alley. I'm a huge fan of visual novels and heavy story games so I'm just eating this game up right now. I'm on Episode 4 of the 1st Season and it has definitely been an intense ride so far. It's been awhile where a game has made me feel for the people involved so deeply. I want to be an evil guy in this game. Not evil but just not take any crap from anyone but with the little girl Clementine always looking, I have to be careful not to offend her. I shouldn't care because it's just a game but I do. That girl's opinion of the Lee that I'm controlling is very important. Like, for example, had I known that she was going to see Lee kill one of the St. John Brother's, I wouldn't have done it. Once I knew she saw that, I let the other one off the hook and let the walkers kill him. I know that she'll be fine in the end as she's the star of Season 2 but getting there has been very fun so far. Well worth the $15 I spent on it as I get 2 hours per episode.

Far Cry 4 is good but for some reason, it's not grabbing me like Far Cry 3 did. Though I got it on release day, I'm only 8 hours in. I can't even do a lot of the main campaign missions because I get so easily distracted by the dozens of other things to do in the game. One minute I'll do a campaign mission and then notice the area is covered on the map which means I need to to hack into a radio tower. So I drive over to it, hack into it and notice thee are some outposts nearby that I haven't taken over. I got do that and that usually takes anywhere from 2 minutes to 10 because sometimes, I suck or make a bad move and have to mow down all the guys plus reinforcements because I also forgot to take the alarm out. There's also Assassination missions, certain Karma events and other NPC's quests that I take out before I even do some of the main quests. That's certainly not a bad thing for FC4 to have but I have to be honest, when looking at the progress screen and seeing ALL the things to do in this game, I get insanely overwhelmed by it all, I've done 14 of the 32 main campaign missions and there's still so much left. The magnitude of this game is stellar and while not as gripping as FC3's devious and fantastic story. it's certainly much more to do in this game. I'm sure I won't do everything but this world really is a vast and demands to be explored properly.

It's 2015 now so that means new games will be arriving soon. The first quarter is looking pretty good. Out of all the games, I'm most looking forward to Final Fantasy Type 0 HD on March 17th. FOr one, it's Final Fantasy. No matter how polarizing the series gets, I continue to play each entry that comes out every year. Though I didn't finish any of the 13 series, I have played each one, paying full price for 2 of the 3 in the series. FF is like my first love when it comes to RPG so I always find myself running back to it, getting hurt by it and then claim never to get attached to the series again. Type 0 HD is unique for two reasons. One, it will mark Final Fantasy's first entry onto the eighth generation consoles. I know, it WAS a PSP game when it was first released in Japan years ago, I get it! Us Americans gamers never had a chance to play it so while it's a port, it's a port of a game many of us never played before so in my eyes, it counts. Second reason is because all first print copies of the game will include the demo of the most anticipated JRPG ever, Final Fantasy XV and it's apparently a timed demo as well. Those two reasons alone are enough for me. Like alot of RPG games, I don't get too deep into looking into the gameplay aspect of the games or story so I can just be better surprised when I play it. I did that with Ni No Kuni and it turned out to be one of the finer games of 2013, though no one really talks about it like they should. Type 0 HD will hopefully be the start of a very fruitful JRPG year. Three big sequels are planned for this year in Xenoblade Chronicles X, Tales of Zestiria and Persona 5. If they all release, it's going to be a good year for me.

Another good title I'm looking forward to is Life is Strange, which comes from the people who brought us the interesting title Remember Me. I know it's a graphic novel title that involves teenagers and time travel so I'm instantly hooked. The only thing is the wait between episodes. The first one is scheduled for January 30th then it's every SIX weeks after that, meaning it's a total of 24 weeks before the whole game is released. UGHHHH, such a hard wait. The beauty of TWD and The Wolf Among Us is that there was no wait for me! I bought Walking Dead Seasons 1 and 2 together for $15 and got WAU on sale for $17 at GameStop. All complete releases. I've never had to wait for these episodic releases. It's going to be different. So far, the critics are saying its one to watch. They say it's like an indie movie, some part Heavy Rain, some parts Walking Dead and some part Gone Home. I've played two of the three so I'm pretty excited for this title. Will it live up to the hype? Probably not but I'm just really looking forward to playing it to experience the time travel. That's something not a lot of graphic novels has done.

Vacation being over isn't the worst thing in the world because that means the Royal Rumble is near and your's truly will be attending the event with some friends! Yes, for the first time since the Raw I went to after TLC 2011. I honestly can't wait! I bring the Rumble up to talk more about the uncertainty of it. For the first time in awhile, Wrestlemania season is pretty cloudy. Last year around this time, it was a fact that Batista was going to go on and win the Rumble. We all thought Bryan was going to get his much deserved spot in the match but it ended up being something different. This year was suppose to be like the last, where we all know the clear cut winner and the plan for Wrestlemania. That was the case, until Daniel Bryan announced his decision to compete in the Royal Rumble this year. That threw all the plans out the freaking window. Also, add the fact that The Authority is back and added Seth Rollins to the WWE Title match and you have a messy little situation now. SO MANY different main events now but I'm only going to play around with the people announced for the Rumble match itself already.

John Cena has the least chance to win this match but if he did, I really wouldn't mind a Cena/Bryan main event match. They gave us a hard fought classic at SummerSlam 2013 and then haven't had a one on one match since. Although a rematch, it would pit the two most popular stars against each other on the biggest stage, and could lead to the first ever cash in at Wrestlemania. I'm down if they do it. Cena VS Reigns is the next big money match for WWE so I think it needs a proper build up. How about Wrestlemania 32? Cena's alleged victim at Mania is Rusev. Rusev just announced his obvious entry into the Rumble match. Could Rusev's first Wrestlemania match be in the main event against Cena for the WWE World Title? Not likely but it's definitely an option. Cena winning the title isn't the worst thing but I'm sure it's not the direction they are heading.

Brock Lesnar doesn't have too many options in opponents or at least, main event opponents. The only face worthy to face Lesnar is Roman Reigns. It may not be the best main event but it's the proper one. It's Wrestlemania 21 all over again. Like that, the undercard will have to carry the show. It's not the greatest realization but it's the right one.

Seth Rollins winning the title would do wonders for Wrestlemania 31. Being the top heel of the company, Rollins has plenty of enemies. His biggest would be Roman Reigns, who still haven't had a proper feud together yet. That's a proper main event and is one that has been brewing since June. Daniel Bryan has put his name in the hat for the Royal Rumble and is a strong contender to win. Rollins/Bryan would be another Wrestlemania main event that pits Bryan VS The Authority and would be a wrestling classic in the same respect as Kurt Angle VS Shawn Michaels 10 years ago. The comparisons between 21 and 31 could be bigger than just the main event. While I would love to see a title match between the two, but I'm still behind Reigns/Lesnar as the main event with Bryan/Rollins being one of the upper card matches. I know Orton will probably get the match, which wouldn't be bad either to be honest, but I'm holding out for Rollins to get it.

Daniel Bryan or Roman Reigns will leave Philadelphia with their ticket punched to Wrestlemania. As with Rumble tradition, look for who interferes in who's matches and who eliminates who during the Rumble itself. If Reigns eliminates Bryan, it's going to have a bad effect on him. Just ask Batista. So whoever eliminates Bryan will probably wrestle him at Mania and get a negative reaction from Philadelphia. Why not have the top heel eliminate him after he loses his title opportunity? They could still do Orton/Rollins at Fast Lane and have Wyatt interfere to continue his quest to take out the heroes of WWE.  It's a long shot but those two matches would fit nicely with the Lesnar/Reigns main event.

It's still two weeks away so who knows how the Rumble will go down
