Well, it's finally official; Brock Lesnar will stay with WWE after his Wrestlemania 31 main event with Roman Reigns. That's good and very bad news. Good because Brock Lesnar is a main attraction. There's no denying that. Since he's return to WWE back in 2012, he's been in big time feuds and matches with some of the biggest superstars WWE has to offer. John Cena, Triple H, and The Undertaker all loss to Brock Lesnar since his 2012 return. He's ended the undefeated streak of The Undertaker and dominated John Cena at SummerSlam. He's a top name. By resigning with WWE, WWE opens up more matches for the Beast, including clashes with Roman Reigns, Daniel Bryan, the match I want to see most, Randy Orton and his rumored opponent at for Wrestlemania 32, The Rock. Lesnar staying around is good for matches to come. Here's the bad news.
Brock Lesnar staying with WWE is not good for upstart Roman Reigns and the future of WWE. It's no secret that the fans have not been happy with WWE's decision to push Reigns, for whatever selfish reasons and with Lesnar resigning, it seems more likely now that Lesnar will retain and continue to hold the WWE Title hostage. SUCH A BAD IDEA. I like the fact that Lesnar is staying because it opens up more matches and draws more people to the product but for me, it's not worth it if Reigns doesn't win the belt.
Look, I completely understand and agree that Roman Reigns isn't ready to main event a Wrestlemania but guess what, once they decided that Reigns should go over Daniel Bryan, they sealed their fate. They pushed him to the moon and have to pull the trigger. The fans can boo. They boo Cena constantly but they refuse to do anything different for his character. Why are they so set on trying to hold down Reigns? Fans are going to boo regardless and if he's going to win the title eventually, why not just give it to him? Lesnar can go away and come back near SummerSlam and do his usual. I know people are going to be against Reigns winning but do you really want to have the World Title off of the main product until SUMMERSLAM? That's another 4 months from now. It's completely insane to want Lesnar to retain on Sunday. Seriously. If you love WWE, why would you want the MAIN championship away from the active performers? If the WWE NEVER put together main titles, then this wouldn't be a problem. They could've used the time to elevate the World Title while Lesnar could have held the WWE Title.
So, in closing, if WWE never put the titles together, then I wouldn't be complaining about this now. Also, if Lesnar does go over Reigns, then there's a big chance that the other top NXT alumni, Rusev, Rollins and Wyatt, will also lose on the big stage. There's no hope in a WWE ran by Vince McMahon. He is out of touch. We need Triple H to fully takeover operations for a WWE we can all be proud of.
Whatever WWE decides to do at Wrestlemania, I'll continue to watch because I love WWE. I just don't like all their decisions they make. I'm going to keep hope alive that Roman Reigns will defeat Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania and that WWE will go with their original plan.
If Lesnar is to retain, he will join Triple H and The Miz as the 3rd heel to retain the WWE Title in the main event of Wrestlemania. Elite company...
