It's only March but it seems like WWE has chosen three of the next guys who are on the verge of breaking out.
Antonio Cesaro or I guess now JUST Cesaro, is the surprise of the bunch. He's been tagging with Swagger as of late and putting on some of the best dang matches in the company. His participation in the Chamber over Ziggler was a shocker and his victory over Orton was even more shocking. Cesaro is an old school type of wrestler; he has the look, the hard hitting ability and the ability to put on a good match with just about anyone. He has some fantastic battle with NXT upstart Sami Zayn. He's had a couple great battles with Daniel Bryan. He pushed the face of the company John Cena to the edge a couple weeks ago. He's the workhorse WWE needs. Will he become World Champion this year? Probably not. MITB winner? He's one of the leading candidates.
Bray Wyatt was fortunate enough to have already had the exposure of the WWE before being called up again. As everyone won't let him live down, he was once called Husky Harris of the Nexus/New Nexus. Thank God they dropped that because this Wyatt gimmick is sick. Not only that but, of the three, Wyatt is the strongest on the mic. His promos are creepy as hell but they fit the character so well! Anytime he talks, I feel I HAVE to listen. As of late, Wyatt has been putting on some show stealers. He had his coming out party at the Rumble by stealing the show with Bryan. Then the next month, he puts on the match of the year with The Shield. Those matches were two different beasts. His match with Bryan was a mat affair while The Shield battle was a WAR. Wyatt looked amazing in both. Will Wyatt become World Champion in 2014? Most likely. He's facing Cena at Mania this year. (Not confirmed yet but come on) That should speak for itself. If they have THAT kind of confidence to stick you in the ring with Cena at their biggest PPV of the year, future must be bright.
Roman Reigns is the next golden boy, plain and simple. He's got the look, the pedigree and the backing of the company. This man basically eliminated the whole team at Survivor Series and then broke the record for most eliminations at the Rumble. It's clear the company is behind him. The only thing Reigns doesn't have is the mic skills. It's not a big issue as guys without it have been successful, like Batista but if he had that, Reigns would be World Champ as I type. Reigns was the dark horse of The Shield when they first debuted but now he looks like the frontrunner for the company after Cena leaves. Will Reigns win the World Title this year? Yes. I just think it's inevitable. Once he splits from The Shield he'll be the one everyone follows. Ambrose just has a natural heel feel while I don't know what they're going to portray Rollings as but I'm sure whatever it is, Reigns will be the one people talk most about. Reigns will have a great showing at Mania and a big time match at SummerSlam. Either Sheamus, Bryan or golden boy Cena. He'll win the belt before the year ends. And if he doesn't, you know who wins the Rumble in 2015. It's really not a matter of if but WHEN. Reigns is the future so get used to him!
However you look at it, the future is bright. I'm really looking forward to seeing all these guys rise to the top.
Undertaker and Hogan both have announcements today. Will Taker FINALLY announce this will be his last Wrestlemania match? Or is there something else planned entirely? Will Hogan announce a third participant in the World Title match? Whatever happens tonight, it should be interesting to see.
