Chamber, Network, and Mania!

This has been one of the most busy WWE related story weeks in awhile. I'm going to try and cover as much as I can!

The Elimination Chamber PPV wasn't bad at all and the two main events were great, especially the Wyatt Family VS The Shield. Those 6 guys have such amazing chemistry and it came across as an absolute war. So many good sequences in the match, like Harper's suicide dive then Rollings Sunset Flip. How about Harper and Rowan putting Rollings through the table? Forget what happened during the match, how about even before the match started, the crowd was saying, "This is awesome!" Hard to believe these are the same fans who booed Batista at the Rumble and cried about Bryan not being in the match but I digress. Anyway, Reigns being the last man of The Shield facing The Wyatts was excellent and Reigns didn't look bad in defeat. He almost pulled out the win but it wasn't meant to be. Just as I predicted, Bray Wyatt pinned Reigns to get the biggest victory for his family. As it stands, no offense intended to the soon to be golden boy, Roman Reigns, Bray Wyatt has the MUCH bigger match at Wrestlemania with the current golden boy John Cena so he needed to look as strong as possible before the biggest match of his life. Can't wait to see the rematch this coming Raw, it should be interesting to say the least. Congrats for the young guns for having Match of the Year. It's only March 1st, but it's something!

The Chamber match had its expected outcomes. Cena's eliminated due to the Wyatts, Cesaro had some feats of strength, Orton gets a screwy victory blah blah blah. Overall, it was a good Chamber match but I really think they should consider moving this PPV into the spring. It's too obvious of an event to have RIGHT BEFORE Wrestlemania. You know a main event superstar is going to win so there is no hope for a guy like Cesaro yet who couldn't possibly win because he can't main event Wrestlemania XXX! If they moved this PPV, say, into either May or October, THEN it might be more suspenseful. I'm not saying the matches can't be good, but they are just WAY too predictable. When's the last time you didn't know who was going to win a chamber? Last year was a shocker yes, but that's when the World Title was around AKA the World Title for the young ones AKA the World Title Roman Reigns would have been challenging for if the titles weren't unified and Reigns won the Rumble. Sorry. Anyway, I think this PPV, while a nice way to lead into Wrestlemania, is dangerous and unneeded, especially if it takes out your top guys before the biggest PPV of the year.

So, with Orton winning the Chamber, he solidifies his spot in the main event of Wrestlemania XXX and will be defending against the challenger Batista! Or, is it Bootista? Wait, or maybe Heeltista? I don't know. With all the boos being poured onto Batista, WWE apparently thought it was a good idea to have Batista TURN HEEL. I heard the turn wasn't suppose to be until AFTER Mania, but the crowd voiced their opinion loud and clear. I liked Batista claim of wanting to systemically destroy our heroes. I like that. It sounds like what Bray Wyatt said MONTHS ago but on a different level. When Wyatt said it, he was talking about the babyfaces the younger crowd likes, like Kingston and Cena. Batista is obviously going to target our Internet darlings everyone! That should be interesting to see.

So, where does that put us for Wrestlemania? Well, we do have ONE REAL confirmed match and that's Undertaker VS Brock Lesnar. Yes, the match was in the making since after WM 28 and actually probably WAY BACK at that UFC event but it's not something I'm super excited about. It's like Lesnar/HHH 2 from last year. It could end up being a fantastic match but it's my least favorite main event of the projected four. So, Taker is taken (heh) care of. Wyatt/Cena is pretty much a lock. That should be good. It will probably be a typical Cena dominates then comes back to win type match but I'm interested in hearing the crowd response and seeing if Wyatt is just a two trick pony or not. I mean, the guy has had phenomenal matches at the last two PPVs. Batista and Orton are scheduled to wrestle each other at Mania while Daniel Bryan has laid the ground work for his match with Triple H. There's two options for this one.

1. Put Bryan in the title match since he was literally screwed in the Chamber and somehow, someway, get Punk back in the company to face Triple H.

2. COMBINE both matches and have a super mega main event.

Neither too likely but I really don't want to see Bryan/HHH UNLESS Bryan gets the win and come on, this is Triple H we're talking about. He didn't even let Sheamus beat him at the grand stage. Anyway, I just don't think WWE would have a heel VS a heel in the main event of their biggest PPV of all time. I'm hoping Hogan will step in and intervene somehow. He is the host after all.

So I got the WWE Network on Monday and so far so good. The first thing I did was watch Wrestlemania XX, specifically the main event, just to make sure that they didn't put a ghost into Benoit's position. To my surprise, nothing is cut in the match. It's all there and it's still great. Is WWE going to go that route again with Bryan this year? The first live event on the Network was pretty awesome and it was a great trial run for WMXXX. There was a slight hiccup while I was watching on my PS3 but that just proves to me to always have a plan B as my computer feed didn't drop the entire night. Paige and Emma are the future of the Divas division and it's time to have Paige drop the belt to one of the girls who aren't ready yet because she needs to be called up to the main roster. Yes, I'm older than Paige and she still has some growing to do, but she's better than mostly every other diva on the main roster. Plus, I want AJ/Paige BADLY. Like, more than anything in life. Except Dark Souls II because I need that in my life like YESTERDAY. Cesaro/Zayn had a great match, not better than what The Shield and Wyatts did and Bo/Neville had a slow Ladder match. It just didn't seem to click but it was still good. NXT really does have some future stars in it but I think before they call up the new guys, they should focus on the ones they already brought up. Here's looking at you Big E, Shield and Wyatts.

Speaking of The Shield, what's best for them at Wrestlemania? There were rumors of having Rollings & Reigns VS Harper & Rowan while having Ambrose face Big E. I'm not too big a fan of that. That most likely means they are still together. The seeds have been planted for a break-up and they lost to the better team at EC. IT'S TIME. Reigns needs to break out and become the star WWE wants him to be. The Shield triple threat is still the money match for me. There's nothing bigger for those guys since all the other big stars are taken.

This is one of the most confusing, clouded, roads to Wrestlemania EVER. And I like it! It seems like WWE doesn't even know what they're going to do so it keeps me on my toes. The biggest question for everyone is this; will they add a 3rd guy to the WWE World Title match and if so, WHO?

And Cena's injured? Come on....
