Coming into Raw, they teased that HHH had a big announcement that would shake the WWE Universe to its core. They conned Reigns into putting his title shot at Wrestlemania on the line against the winner of the Seth Rollins/Daniel Bryan match. So I'm thinking, oh nice, we'll get Rollins/Reigns in the main event which makes sense in so many different ways. It was poetic since Rollins was the one to turn on Reigns in the first place and Reigns would then win after interference from a returning Randy Orton setting up Orton/Rollins. All was right! That was, until Reigns got involved and helped Bryan get the victory to set up the main event of Daniel Bryan VS Roman Reigns, winner goes to Wrestlemania. Seriously?
OK, I'm so freaking intrigued by this match. Why oh WHY would they put Roman Reigns against Daniel Bryan, knowing the polarizing response Reigns has been getting? It seems crazy. That is, unless Reigns is going to turn heel and they'll portray Lesnar as the face. I mean, his reaction at the Rumble was insane, much more than I thought would be for a part timer. It would be an interesting twist. How would WWE then transition Bryan VS Ziggler. Although I know they're capable of stealing the show, I would like a little more story into the match. At the end of the day, either scenario has Bryan losing, but is Reigns defeating Bryan really what's best for WWE. And there's no way a Triple Threat would happen. WWE will not repeat what it did last year, that much is clear. Well, it looks like Fastlane just became that much more interesting it seems. Will Reigns turn heel? How will the fans react if Bryan loses? Will any other superstars have something to do with the outcome? Regardless, Fastlane has become must watch now as this match will not only set the main event but also the match for the loser as well.
So, Bray Wyatt VS The Undertaker is happening. It's not confirmed but come on guys, he's calling him out. A person he has watched for years who caused fear but then starting getting cheers from the crowd. And he wants him to find Wyatt. It's Undertaker. While it may not be the best match at Wrestlemania in terms of match quality, it is certainly the only thing left for Wyatt to do this early in his career. Think about it. All the main events faces are basically taken. Cena will be busy with Rusev, Orton will Rollins, Bryan with whoever and Reigns with Lesnar. There's no one else left for Wyatt on his level and with Wyatt seen as a future star of the company, you don't want him without a dance partner for the biggest show of the year. Undertaker is the only one left. The match makes plenty sense as both play supernatural characters. The build for the match would be the best part but it's the delivery and ending I'm most on the fence about. Can Taker really produce another high quality match? How will it all go down? Taker losing his 2nd straight Wrestlemania match after going undefeated in 21 appearances is a little tough to swallow for many fans. I'm all for that decision as I'm a huge Wyatt fan and that would be the passing of the torch to him as the next big supernatural character in WWE. Wyatt doesn't need to take a loss here after looking so strong since his Ambulance match with Ambrose. If they want to present a big challenge for their hand picked golden boy Roman Reigns, they have to let Wyatt go over Undertaker at Wrestlemania. WWE put him in the position so let him win the dang match.
So, is WWE going to do Lesnar VS Reigns or Lesnar VS Bryan? They're in the same position as they were in 2005. They had a fresh guy like Batista and another fresh guy like Cena. Batista won the Rumble, still green and went to main event his only 1st Wrestlemania. Was he really ready for the position of main event at Mania? Of course not and neither is Reigns. They build up Lesnar as this insatiable beast they has dominated Taker at Wrestlemania and squashed Superman Cena. What would have been the point of Lesnar ending the streak then? If Bryan main events against Lesnar at Wrestlemania 31, the streak ended in vain. They could have used that to build Bray Wyatt then. So, he's the bottom line from me:
Roman Reigns MUST main event Wrestlemania against Brock Lesnar. He MUST defeat The Beast and build off the sacrifice of the greatest streak in professional wrestling. Bryan is already super over and doesn't need it. Having Bryan win at Fast Lane is WWE giving in again. It's not Bryan's time right now. He definitely deserves the title but Reigns needs to hold it first and start this new era on March 29th. Reigns or riot.
