NXT Rival Predictions

NXT will once again takeover the WWE Network with their 5th live special, NXT Rival. After the amazing show of the year that was R Evolution, there's a lot of pressure on the NXT guys to once again step it up and show just why they are considered the future of the WWE. Currently, 5 matches are on the card, 3 being titles matches. Let's get right into it.

Hideo Itami was attacked by Tyler Breeze after the show went off the air on Wednesday. Maybe the two will have a pre show match as I can't see Itami, one of WWE's big acquistions, sitting out. That could be a fun match that would just showcase Itami even more. If not pre show, at least do a main card squash. Itami isn't my favorite of the NXT 5 but they made such a big deal of him when he came over so he deserves to be on the show.

The opening contest will be the NXT Tag Team Title rematch between The Lucha Dragons and NEW Tag Champs Buddy and Murphy and Blake. I don't know why they decided to do the title switch on a taped show but I'm glad The Lucha Dragons lost the belts. I like Kallisto but he needs to go on his own and start looking towards that NXT Title. This will be a fast paced, short match up, just wetting our whistles for what's to come. Murphy and Blake are liked backstage and it's obvious with their quick win of the titles. It won't be any different at NXT Rival. Murphy and Blake win. Plus, they match. It's a tag team rule.

Baron Corbin and Bull will end their feud hopefully. I was so looking forward to this big man feud but they've only had two different squash matches this year. I'm not saying this match couldn't be great, I'm just not expecting too much. It IS No DQ so hopefully we see something hardcore like. With both guys no longer undefeated, it could go either way. NXT are really one sided when it comes to their feuds so Corbin will get the win in a short match.

The #1 contender's match is the match I want to see most on this. I actually watched a match between Pac and Prince Devitt from their NJPW days. It was in the Best of the Juniors tournament and I watched it earlier this year. Eerie that now they will clash for the #1 contendership. Balor is the last undefeated NXT guy out there, besides Owens. Neville is coming off of his long reign as NXT Champion and is looking to get right back in the swing of things. Neville has basically done everything he can in NXT. He main evented every NXT live special in 2014 and was the longest reigning NXT Champion in history. While he could win the title again, I think it's time he started entertaining the people who need it, the weekly viewers of Raw and Smackdown. This should be a fantastic, long contest between two guys who know each very well, just not in NXT. Balor just screams star from the way that he carries himself and I think a Balor/Zayn match in the future would be sick. Finn Balor picks up the win after the match of the night.

I haven't been this excited for a Divas Fatal Four Way in some time. The last time NXT did a Fatal Four Way....MAN. Can you say amazing? They have another shot here but just with women this time. This should be a fun, hard hitting women's match, with many things done not seen in the tradition women's match. Could we maybe see a top rope superplex powerbomb combination move? I sure hope so. Charlotte has been Divas Champ since May. 9 months. It's time someone else gets a turn. I'm good with either Bayley or Sasha to win it. Bailey really should have won it a F4W but with her new mean streak, I think her moment is coming. I think they need to build on this mean streak more before they pull the trigger on her. Here's how I want to see it go down; Sasha Banks finally wins the NXT Divas Title. Bayley starts working hard and showing she's not the same nice girl that she used to be and ends up defeating Charlotte in a #1 contender's match, somewhere close to the next live special. Then Bayley takes on Becky Lynch, if Team Best At Everything is still together after Rival. It all leads to a big payoff match for Bayley at the event after this one. I think it would be better if Bayley won the title from the person who is causing her to suffer the most. Sasha Banks will win the title but I have the feeling in my stomach that Charlotte will retain. AGAIN. I sure hope not...Ain't it time for her call up?

Sami Zayn VS Kevin Owens at a live NXT Special will happen again. With it being a grudge match but having normal rules, this match is going to end by DQ. NXT hasn't done that let at their specials with the title up for grabs. The crowd would surely be mad but it would open the door for the future matches to come between the two. They need to have some type of stipulation match at the next event. I know it's called a Ladder War in ROH but something along those lines will work. Could this be a great match? Yes, but I'm prepping myself for the wonky finish if they go in that route. Zayn will retain obviously but he will be the one that the DQ is called on as he won't be able to keep all his emotions in check when he meets Owens in that ring. I can't wait for these guys to tear down another federation!

Well, there you go, NXT Rival. If you never had the pleasure of watching one of these lovely and fantastic events, PLEASE do it come Wednesday night. You won't regret it
