Wrestlemania 31 build!

WWE Fast Lane did exactly what it was suppose to. It created buzz and interest in WWE's flagship PPV, Wrestlemania. While all the matches may not have been top level, the event wasn't bad. The Divas match wasn't horrible, the 6 man tag was ok and I really enjoyed the tag team title match. Congrats to Kidd and Cesaro! I loved the pairing as soon as they got together and it looks like so did the creative team. It was a little surprising to see the quick title change but i'm still really psyched for Kidd and Cesaro!

Let's just get into the big stories coming from the event, which all set up Wrestlemania matches.

Randy Orton made his highly anticipated reward by coming out after The Authority was victorious in their 6 man tag match. This all but confirms that Randy Orton will face Seth Rollins at Wrestlemania. It will definitely be one of the best matches on the show hands down. This is a great first time big one on one match for Rollins, who has been victorious in his two previous outings with his Shield brethren. I don't know if he'll beat a returning Orton but I can't wait to see the match.

Sting and Triple H setup their mega matchup for Wrestlemania. I'm really hoping it's a high No Holds Barred match so we can see more Bat VS Sledgehammer. I wasn't really looking forward to seeing this match announced but after Sting and HHH started trading blows, I looked at it a little differently. A regular match would be horrible. A No Holds Barred contest would be 100 times more fitting and interesting.

Bray Wyatt has confirmed what everyone already knew; he wants Undertaker at Wrestlemania 31 or in his words, he wants to claim his soul. Is that WWE's subtle way of saying this could be his last match in WWE? It would be very fitting. It would be a pasting of the torch match as Wyatt would defeat Taker, end his storied career, which is basically already over anyway and take his new place as the new supernatural force in WWE or as Wyatt calls it, the new face of fear. I don't know if the match quality would be like Taker's previous clashes from WM 22-29 but I'm really excited that Wyatt got the nod to face The Undertaker. This is the guy who has already hads feuds with Kane, Daniel Bryan, CM Punk, John Cena, and Dean Ambrose. Basically, he's feuded with every big name face that he can. Without a 2nd World Championship and with Reigns already in the main event, it makes all more sense to pair him with Taker. I'm looking forward to more crazy promos and mind tricks between the two and fully expect Wyatt to defeat Taker and end his storied career, once and for all. It's time. WWE now has the character that can succeed him and should pull the trigger since Taker already has a lost on the grand stage. Long live Wyatt.

Rusev got a win over John Cena! A submission win! WOW. The only way that the rematch happens is if Cena puts something drastic on the line, like his career. It's a solid fact that Rusev isn't walking out undefeated at Wrestlemania so Cena putting his career on the line would be a nice touch.

Reigns did it. WWE isn't backing down from pushing Reigns. Without any other interference or any kind of crazy WWE antics, Roman Reigns defeated Daniel Bryan in a great main event. Bryan gave his endorsement after the match and the next night on Raw. There you go! I'm sorry to all those who were hoping for the repeat ending to Wrestlemania this year but I'm fully behind Reigns being in the main event. I have been since Lesnar broke the Streak. I'm sorry, if it was any other year than this, I truly believe Bryan should have went against Lesnar in the main event. Two established stars, the classic David VS Goliath battle, it all screamed Wrestlemania main event but to do that this year, you're basically giving the mega push to Daniel Bryan, who doesn't need help in getting back to the main event thanks to his fanbase. That's why I'm solely behind a Lesnar/Reigns main event. Undertaker's streak ending can't be in vain and it would be if Reigns didn't get the main event billing. It only makes sense. Now, for Bryan fans, it sucks because now it seems that Bryan is being forced into the out of nowhere IC Title Ladder Match at Wrestlemania, along with Barrett, Ambrose and Ziggler, all guys without direction in this year's Mania season.

MY problem with the Ladder match is two fold. They already have a multi man match at Wrestlemania in the Battle Royal. WHY do they need two? And if they were going to do two separate, shouldn't they at least make it worth while? I mean, Ziggler was the sole survivor of the team that put the Authority out of business. Ambrose did main event a couple PPVs last year. And I think Daniel Bryan's resume speaks for itself. A badly put together IC Title match is just lazy. If anything, I'd rather see those three team up against some NXT guys in an exhibition match. Could you imagine the amount of awesome that would be Bryan/Ziggler/Ambrose VS Zayn/Neville/Balor? Now, the only pro to the Ladder match is that it puts some spotlight on the IC Title by having these guys go after it and it should be a fantastic contest with some great spots but it just seems tacked on, basically a cheap way to get all the Internet favorites in one match.

I'm very torn on this Wrestlemania.

The pros are this:

- It's a Wrestlemania that puts the new fresh stars against some of the top names the WWE has to offer. You have Reigns/Lesnar, Wyatt/Taker, the inevitable announced Rollins/Orton and Rusev/Cena. All four of those guys are the pack leaders for the next generation. Orton, Cena and Lesnar are the top names to come out of the class of 2002. It really just sells itself.

-Triple H and Sting, while older, is a marquee match up that would headline any WWE PPV and after Fast Lane, I'm sold. Please be No Holds Barred....

-The IC Title will actually be defended on the show.

-It's Wrestlemania!

-There are a lot of matches that will carry the show when the main event is hijacked by the fans. You know it's going to happen. Lesnar is going to look like a freaking hero while Reigns plays the villain.

-Fun facts! Back to back years a new face is in the main event while a older face is as well. Batista went 9 years in between main eventing Wrestlemanias while Lesnar is going 12 years. Rock went 11 when he main evented 28 against Cena. This will be Reigns' 3rd Mania appearance and is 2-0 going into the event.

Now the cons:

-ONCE AGAIN, a lot of talented superstars are getting the shaft due to the emergence of part time stars. I absolutely love Taker, Triple H and Lesnar but how many more years are they going to keep relying on them to sellout Wrestlemanias? Triple H had it right last year, feuding with the hottest superstar around. This year, while understandable since it's Sting's FIRST Wrestlemania ever, I would still prefer him to face an up and comer. With Lesnar busy with Reigns, Taker with Wyatt, Cena with Rusev and Orton with Rollins, that leaves a lot of guys without opponents, guys like Barrett, Ziggler, Ambrose and most importantly, Daniel Bryan. So, they just throw them all in one match. That solves everything right?

-The main event is going to get crucified by the fans. Either they will cheer Lesnar and boo Reigns or boo both because it's a crowd filled of smarks.

-As of this typing, they've passed on the amazing fan based match up of Dolph Ziggler VS Daniel Bryan for a IC Title Ladder match. I love a good spot fest but come on, the two best workers in the company one on one at Wrestlemania? Give me that. It would be akin to Shawn Michaels VS Kurt Angle from Wrestlemania 21. And how ironic that that's the show I've most compared 31 to. Crazy!

-Although being the most consistent good thing about WWE, NXT probably won't have a presence at the Show of Shows. Why not showcase the best pure talent that WWE has? Owens VS Neville, some type of tag match, something, ANYTHING would work.

Wrestlemania 31 is only 4 weeks away!
